Let's see how he does at UNC without Tom Brady.  We always guessed whether the Pats success was due more to Belichick or Brady, but after Brady left the Pats the answer became clear.  Coach Belichick suffered from having an incompetent GM, who made bad decisions and ran the roster into the ground.  That GM of course was Bill Belichick. At UNC as at most colleges, the head coach is also the de facto GM, leading the scouting and selection process, but now he'll be scouting high school athletes and not college or pro players.  His track record in this regard doesn't suggest success is forthcoming.

Much of your success in college depends on the quality of the players you can attract and I would imagine Belichick should be able to attract much better quality players than the previous UNC coach did.

Reminds me of Anna Nicole Smith when she was married to that billionaire. He was around 90 when she was in her 20's.

I think Viagra put a stop to a lot of those Anna Nicole type marriages.........now the women actually have to have sex with the old prunes.

Her hasty interjection would indicate they met on some seedy dating site or possibly an escort service situation.  Either way, it appears to be a mutually agreeable relationship, so good for them.

He's got the young chick with the perky satellite-seekers, and she's got access to a luxurious lifestyle on Bill's yacht and fancy restaurants. No money worries. When Bill gets busy during the season with 18 hour work days, she can roam free, spoiling herself shopping for designer clothes, sporty cars, and 'socializing' with young guys her own age.

As long as she doesn't forget to stop at the pharmacy for Bill's little blue pills, he'll be happy and so will she.

So why did she cut him off at that seemingly ordinary question: how did you meet?

Was she an escort or something?

The ostensibly met on an airplane ...

Who's airplane did they meet on? Bill isn't flying commercial with all that money. This is that classic Julia Roberts Richard Gere situation. Good for her. Good for him.

Why is everyone jumping to attack them? She's a consenting adult. He's a consenting adult. They're happy. Let them be and who gives a ***** how they met?

Because most people suspect there is a financial transaction involved in this "relationship"

this is two people who we do not know and it's all just gossip. we are grown ass men and many are just jealous they can't pull someone like her. it's hilarious, sad, and pathetic all at the same time.

I read where they had met when she was 21; so maybe there’s some additional embarrassment or concern people might further intrude in their business.

I think it's fine for the moment.  But he should spend a few fun weekends with her before football season starts and then move on.

It's clear that from seeing her strutting around on the UNC practice field with a clipboard and controlling his interviews that she's becoming his influencer.  As Bill ages and he gets in deeper with this relationship,  she will get more controlling and things will go bad for him and those close to him.

I've lived in Charlotte for 29 years, so I have some perspective. UNC is by far the most popular college program among people that live here and most definitely, people originally from here.

UNC actually recruits well and sends people to the NFL at a fairly high rate, commensurate with their lack of National success. North Carolina produces massive amounts of high end college players.  Also, there's a few towns/cities in South Carolina that also produce quality college players and they're more connected to NC, than SC, in terms of where their family works and are from.  Charlotte is about 15 minutes from the SC border, so tens of thousands of people live/move there for the low taxes, etc.  These players have largely gone elsewhere because there hasn't been a nationally successful NC program.

UNC has a real opportunity to recruit, because the players are right here.  Historically, some great ones have already chosen to go there.  Now with BB, it should be easy.

It's an interesting dynamic to say the least.  Belicheck was the most feared coach in the NFL during his reign and one of the most feared coaches in NFL history and now he's cowering down like a mouse to this chick.  Dave Portnoy was talking about this and said he's talked to 6 or 7 former Patriots players who were like "What the F***!?" in regards to the whole situation.

There's way more going on here than their age difference, there is something very weird going on.  Also reports that UNC is not happy about this relationship and the control she has over him.  Might not be a story for you, but this is a story!

Talk about an absolute nightmare situation, to have your daughter bring home this guy. <shiver>

Be glad she doesn’t have (grand)daddy issues.

News flash to those people, every relationship is transactional including their own loving marriages with their “age appropriate” spouses.

I mean, so what? Bill also has his kids in his life and very present. I think we are interested just because we see it.

I don't think we are that concerned with Andy Reid and his love interest of fast food, type 2, and whoever he is lucky enough to call his own.

The same goes with Pete Carrol and all the college co eds he dated/dates.

To quote Andre the Giant to Hulk Hogan:

"When you stand them on their head they all look the same."

It's just men and women. Women and men. I guess that story needs more than just that - we need sultry details, speculation, conjuncture, and gossip!

I'm sorry but anyone who thinks this a story watches Nancy Grace and The View, has a landline, and still drives at 10&2.

My wife is from Rock Hill, SC (right cross the border and home to several NFL players), and she has a ton of family in Charlotte. I spent a week every summer for almost a decade in Chapel Hill taking the kids to UNC basketball camps. It’s a great area, no doubt.

But the real entertainment here is the idea of Bill Belichick groveling for the services of some 17 year old kid. I wonder is his GF helps him with recruiting?
