Dealing Parsons for Cook, AJ and picks is the type of thing that Jerry would love to do.

Either that or pay Cook 15-25m next season when he's a FA.  See Zeke.

Jerry literally thinks all this is funny, literally laughing about it in the news and calling it just a negotiation.

Hes not available.  At least not yet.  Will that change?  Maybe, but Jerry has made it pretty clear he’s not available right now.

Whew, that’s a high range. While I am a simple and financially uneducated fan, I really don’t believe those numbers are in play.

Wait, he’s doing everything people wanted him to do. He showed up, he has practiced, he has been quiet…literally everything people have demanded of him. What do you now want him to do?!?!

Show up practice and be quiet…rhetorical question.    That is not how I think about it but many others think they just expect him to play under his deal.  I see both sides and not sure there is an easy solution.  The bills could just stare him down and call his bluff.  Is he going to give up game checks?  He stands to make more in game checks this year than he has in his first three years which he has earned with salary escalators for his play time.

So 2 1st's, a 3rd, Cook, Epenesa, and the new highest contract for an Edge Rusher - which would severely hamstring our cap even more going forward?

its a no from me dawg GIF

I don’t want my GM trying to win the NFL salary cap award of the year, I want them trying to get elite level players at virtually any cost while Josh Allen remains the QB.

I understand many fans see it as you do.

Dallas isn’t trading Parsons.  Trading Cook for Parsons isn’t worth the time to post to suggest that because Parsons is not available.

Yes but this is the Dreaming Season.

Parsons isn’t coming. This is how Dallas players have to negotiate with Jerry.

Cook will be signed within the week. I’d guess 12-13 AAV

Torrance will be extended, they will try with McGovern, Edwards will walk at the end of the year. We have too many up and coming O-lineman on good contracts to extend Edwards.

If this is how everything played out I'd be good. 12-13 mil is steep for Cook but on the high end of reasonable as he is such an important piece for our offense. I like Ray Davis as much as anyone but he does not bring the explosive element of Jimbo. McGovern is a priority, and Torrance will likely take precedence over Edwards.

That will surely increase his value.  The Bills have ALL of the leverage in this situation. You're kidding yourself if you think Cook has any

Cook is a good back that scored 18 TDs last year. This team has Super Bowl aspirations and cook is their second best offensive player. The Bills should be doing everything they can to get this done

I think they will extend Torrance before McGoven because he’s younger, a draft pick, and on a skyrocketing projectory. Unless McGovern is willing to give a team discount which he’s been fairly vocal about not being interested in.

I don't quite see it that way. Torrance was not bad last year but if there was a weak link on the starting five he was it. And I realize Van Pran Granger is in the picture but he is a completely unproven entity at this point.

I would not be surprised by this.  He is getting bad advice.

What bad advice? Show up to camp and participate fully has been the advice so far. Something changed today, and we dont know what or why. So far for any advice he's received he's done exactly what Bills fans could hope for.

I hope we pay Torrence and McGovern, not Cook. Draft a RB RDS 1-3 in next years Draft. Don’t pay a RB.

How about we pay all 3 and not pay our backup TE $14-17M/yr?

Can Cook block? Can he put up numbers without an MVP at QB?

Enough of this “business” talk for a good RB that wants great RB money. $11M/year? Maybe. $15M-$25M? Awww hell no.

Thats the thing with the RB position. If you don’t have a good OL in front of you, it doesn’t matter how good you are..

You think Cook, AJ, and a draft pick is going to get you Parsons? Why don't we throw in a case of Gatorade to sweeten the pot? Maybe an autographed picture of Marv.

I gave an opinion. It doesnt need a smart ass response.  Don't like my opinion, just ignore it.

I agree in principle, but. I think they do not have the cap space and would have to give up too much depth to do it.  Dallas is not trading him anyway.

Ah man, what would the Bills do without awesome depth in the postseason?

Depth wins you nothing.

How appropriate to quote coach Marv Levy on his 100th birthday. He once said, “Depth is great, until you have to use it.”

I think the point being made is you don’t have to choose between a good OL and a good RB. There is enough money to pay all of them, especially with the entire WR room costing less than Ja’Marr Chase’s yearly salary. You would just have to choose to pay those positions rather than backup TEs or rotational DLineman.

And Cook has certainly shown more when it matters in the playoffs than 0 sacks AJ Epenesa or Knox’s 58 yards total receiving all of the last two playoffs and 320 yards total in 6 postseason runs. That right there is almost 16 million per season for backups that don’t produce in the playoffs.

Who cares if he can block.  He can learn to block better in the future. I'd rather see him out in a pass pattern challenging the defense.

Can Shakir put up numbers without Allen?

Go back and watch Seahawks game. Watch his TD runs. Dodson shoots the gap between Dawkins and Edwards. Cook with one step goes lateral and beats him to the pylon. That is elite running and no one else on the Bills can do that. Watch him completely takeover over that game. He is an elite RB and Davis would be a massive downgrade.

Reports out of practice are that Torrence looks poised to make that Spencer Brown jump.
