With the 69th pick the patriots select Isaiah Bond, wr Texas.

@TPS and the jags are up.

Easy selection here.  Pats need wr help and diggs can teach him to be a true diva wr lol.

Red flags be dammed this is late enough to take a flyer.

The Bills are not using one of their first three picks on a safety, after drafting Cole Bishop (who’s barely had a chance to play) in round 2 last year.  It simply is not going to happen.

So your good with Hamlin as a starter?

If Watts is on the board the Bills absolutely should and will consider a S. Bishop certainly will have an opportunity. But high rated player at a position needing depth or improvement. Yes, the Bills might do it.

Not saying they will or should do it. But depending on the board it’s to be considered. You would not consider it, that’s fine. DT, CB, Edge and possibly WR otherwise it’s a moderate need👍

It’s important to ensure you’ve got a 3rd round pick next year so that you can use it to trade for a player mid-season at a position you didn’t fill in the first round of the previous year’s draft on account of trading down to recoup the third round pick you traded away mid-season the year before.

If the player is a difference maker you get him.

The Bills have: box safety, box safety, FA signing Forrest who we haven't quanitifed, and Hamlin. There's a roster spot open to competition for a ball hawking deep half guy with a track record of big plays.

With the 70th pick in the TSW NFL Mock Draft, the Jaguars take Ozzy Trapilo, OT, Boston College.

With a couple DT targets taken at the end of the second round, the Jags opt to go with a versatile OT prospect who can provide solid pass pro on either side of the line.  Though, we're still trying to verify rumors of headless chickens found in his garbage....

@Kirby Jackson and the NO Saints are on the clock.

Cutting Rapp after next season will only be a $666k dead cap hit.  Bishop hasn't proven anything yet, Forrest played primarily special teams for Washington last year,  and Hamlin is who he is.  We could absolutely take a safety with our first three picks if he's the best player available.

We cannot take a safety with one of our top three picks.  Too much need at CB and on d-line.

Highly unlikely.  Bishop was an outlier.  There won’t be two in a row.  I could see using a fifth or sixth in safety, but that’s it.

Watts is already better than Bishop. He’d be the best safety on the team.

After Terell Bernard and Dorian Williams, you still haven’t learned not to judge day 2 defensive draft picks by their rookie season, especially the ones that were injured as rookies?

Drafting exclusively for need in the first two rounds is never good process.

You're probably right but I wouldn't be shocked if they took one on day 1 or 2 considering I was shocked they took Bishop last year.

Not a knock on Bishop really. It’s that Watts is really good. If the team doesn’t want to improve the skill level and keep positions open for their draft picks the year before, then what’s the point of what they are doing? Thats a mediocre way of building a roster and probably why we have not gotten over the hump. Competition breeds success. Iron sharpens iron. They should be trying to bring in better players at every position except QB. He’s the only superstar on the team. Let’s get better everywhere.

Rapp will be injured at some point and Bishop and Watts will be the starters

With the 72nd pick of the 2025 TSW Mock Draft v1.0 the Chicago Bears select:

Charles Grant, Offensive Tackle, William & Mary

I was considering interior defensive line as a possibility here but the run of offensive line picks in front of me meant the ice was getting pretty thin there and despite the capital spent in free agency and the trade market on interior blockers I remain of the view that an upgrade is needed at left tackle. A lot of people have had Grant as a guy who will need to play at guard in the NFL but I don't see that at all. I think he has elite length and excellent footwork and is the classic modern athletic NFL blindside protector. He could stand to improve his functional strength somewhat and coming from William & Mary will need to adjust to a much higher level of competition in the league. It might take until his second year to hit but if Grant hits he can be really, really good.

The New York Jets and @DJB are now on the clock.

At combine, Bills met with 6 safeties, including Starks, Emmanwori, Watts and Mukuba.

They absolutely can draft a safety with one of their first three picks.
