If the sneak had worked, he would not have called the time out.  McD will tell everyone it was an execution issue.

This is so dense. The call by the coach was a disaster in it of itself, there is literally no defending it, which is why you won’t. 
 

He cost us with 23 seconds and he’s going to do it again in the playoffs. You could literally see it on Josh’s face. He knew it was over as soon as McD called the most amateur timeout of the season.

The accepting of the penalty...two things can be true. 99% chance the Rams get a TD even if they decline the penalty. There's no way the D was stopping them. But...McD still should have declined it.

Pick your poison, atrocious end of game management or atrocious D? McDermott’s D gave up 44 freakin points. They stayed in soft zone the entire game and got absolutely smoked. The DL might as well just raised their hands when pass rushing because they failed miserably rushing the passer!

 

Really disappointing at this stage in McDermott’s HC career, these thing keep reoccurring.

I can't stand McDermott and wanted him gone years ago, but I agree with this logic and I did in the moment. I mean for Christ sake make a play on 3rd and 17. An incomplete pass there and they are punting.

No it was a run the whole time. They had their heavy formation out there.

 

Run should never have been an option in that situation.

Full disclosure: I wanted McD fired after the 13 seconds game. 

 

I really don't think the timeout today was a problem.

 

Under no circumstances should we have been kicking the ball off deep with <1 minute to play and rely on our DEF to force a 3 and out. The DEF that allowed 38 points and forced 1 punt the entire game. 

 

I'll take my chances with the on-side kick and using the timeout immediately gives the offense more time if we did miraculously recover the kick.

They hadn’t stopped the Rams all game. The Head Coach should know that. It was a given that they were either converting it or getting a lot of yards. 

 

Not to mention the time waste.
