Attempting a low-percentage deep pass on 3rd and 2, when a 1st down ices the game? Just mind-numbing idiocy. Reid's late-game decisions have always left a lot to be desired. Mahomes has just covered up that weakness the last several years.

That one stunned me stupid.

I'm all for unexpected aggression when playing with a lead, but that 3rd down call was beyond the pale.

They are the only team that we have beaten that will most likely be in the 2024 playoffs, aren’t they?

One of Seattle/arizona will very very likely be in and we beat them both

Pretty irritating Reid got bailed out on that one by raiders ineptitude lol. One of the worst coaching decisions I’ve seen all year

It was the same way they closed out the AFCCG against the Ravens last season 🤷‍♂️. This time Mahomes missed the pass. It happens. They knew they could punt and stop the Raiders from getting into FG range considering how bad Carlson had been all day. Against a better offense they probably would have just gone for it on 4th and 2.

They have.

By the end of the season? I don’t know.

Right now, it’s KC and MAYBE the NFCW winner of AZ/Seattle and pending Niners game (only one of those teams will make it). I think Ravens/Texans will both make the playoffs too. Only Detroit is left as a playoff team on our schedule.

So yeah, I don’t understand talking down a victory over the two time defending champ who was undefeated until they faced us. KC is and was arguably the toughest game on our schedule and they are definitely a playoff team.

Most of us are talking them down from the best team in the league or the best team in the Mahomes era which right now are both titles they are on pace to claim with a 16-1 or 15-2 record. Realistically they look like 12-5 type team which is still a good team. Division title winning team in most cases.  Nobody is talking them down to a 8-9 level team.

Not sure I agree with that.

Seattle has to play Cardinals, Packers, Rams, Vikings.

Cardinals have Seattle, Vikings, Rams, Niners left.

Both have a 1 game lead on the Niners and Rams right now.

I don’t know who wins that division to be honest. I don’t think any of them are “very very likely” to make it.

Yeah in back to back weeks they've barely escaped defeat against teams competing for the #1 pick.

Please point out these people.  Any of them.  One of them.

Newsflash — it is ok for football fans to comment on what they are seeing out of the KC Chiefs right now.  They look pretty mediocre and have gotten a preponderance of ridiculously fortuitous bounces to win football games.

Amen, brother.

BTW, Cap, that isn’t saying they won’t or can’t win.  However, they are simply and truly right now just a record.  Nothing screams championship about this team, at all.

…and people can do all the football yoga talking points they want, but nothing is going to change that.

The Chiefs are simply not playing well ... and it's not because they've lost a bunch of key players to injury.   They've been playing this way the entire season.

All the media analysts expected that losing to the Bills would spark the Chiefs to come out and rout the Panthers.   I think they were favored by 9 points over Carolina, and they barely escaped ... again ... looking like "the same old Chiefs" they've been all season, winning by luck rather than their own play.  Fast forward to yesterday, and the Chiefs won the game against the Raiders only because the Raiders' FG kicker's foot hit the dirt before the ball on their last long FG attempt.

When they get to the playoffs, the Chiefs are going to be going against good teams that are fully capable of not only sticking with them but of making their own luck with their own top personnel and excellent coaching.  Somebody is going to knock them out before they get to the Super Bowl.  Depending on the final seeding, the Chiefs might very well be 1 and done in this years playoffs.

I saw a stat that they have a +54 point differential. Only losing one game all year, that seems almost impossible.

The raiders being 13.5 point underdogs yesterday was the easiest bet all season. The Raiders are bad, but the Chiefs are running on fumes right now

My bet is if they get the 2 seed, they lose at home to Denver and Bo Nix

So basically the argument is the best win on our schedule is against a team playing “mediocre football,” who are “running on fumes” and aren’t “screaming championship team.”

I don’t agree. Chiefs are the team to beat until proven otherwise.

I will call them mediocre frauds if they blasted in their first playoff game and not before.

That was very different. KC was up 7, their defense had dominated Baltimore all game, and it was 3rd and long.

I really want the Chiefs to get hammered in the playoffs so that this narrative about them being clutch, being able to squeeze out victories and being able to flip the switch in the playoffs can meet with a well deserved death. While their recent success is commendable, I can also use the Not For Long label to say that pedigree can easily get exposed in the playoffs if not supported by talent and ability.

I want to see the Chiefs have to play through the playoffs as a wildcard only to meet Buffalo in the AFC championship game, then get demolished.😆 One can dream....

It will be sweeter and set a whole lot of wrongs right. But it's a stretch to hope for that this year as I am not convinced the Chiefs will make the AFCCG

12-5 is not a mediocre football team which is how I would describe their current talent level and level of play. They've something like 9-0 in one score games this year. I'm not saying they should be 4-5 in those one score games and have 5 losses now. But 6-3 or 7-2 and on pace for a 5 loss season would be closer to the law of averages for a good team.

Who would you rather not face in the playoffs if you had a choice, the 1 loss Chiefs or the 4 loss Ravens?

As a Bills fan, I'm feeling pretty good about the Chiefs.  I don't think I'm in denial.

At the same time, I still expect them to beat the Chargers next week on a fumbled kneel down while the Chargers are up by 7. The Chiefs will return it for a TD, then decide to go for 1, but they will botch the snap and end up with a 2pt conversion on accident for the win.

I didn’t respond to you. You ENGAGED me when I was addressing a poster who called them “fraudulent.”

If you spent more time reading the posts you respond to instead of trying (and failing) to dunk on me, you wouldn’t have this issue so often.

The Chiefs. 1000%

Oh you were most certainly dunked on. I'll forgive you for not meaning to quote me in that post. Carry on.
