What this game told me was that the Buffalo Bills need to draft offensive lineman and secondary help along with a good go too running back. Put Thurman Thomas, Joe Cribbs on this team the Bills are a much better team. I don’t trust any of our current running backs where I believe they can take a game over there all not good enough. The offensive line has to be number one in the draft the Bills need line help badly so they can dictate play at the line of scrimmage in my opinion. Go Bills! Let’s Go Buffalo

Our backs are fine.  I'd rather work on the OL as you suggested.  Give the backs a better line and they'll get the yards, and Josh will have more time to throw to receivers who have more time to get open.  And Josh will stay healthier.

Of course, I'd love to see the Bills have a Thurman-quality RB.  But how many of those are available in the draft?  With the RB position devalued, it seems the best athletes now play other positions.  Back in OJ's day, for example, the best athletes wanted to be running backs.  That's not true anymore.

in the modern NFL, where every player on D is trying to punch the ball out more than make a tackle, fighting for yards in a scrum on 1st and 2nd down is not a wise decision.

Agree.

I am all for fighting to get to the sticks, but only if you can wrap up the ball or switch it to the hand nearest the sideline.

That way if it is punched out it likely goes harmlessly out of bounds.

Josh had to learn how to tote the rock in traffic, remember how often he would fumble back in the day?

It can be taught and Gabe has a bigger frame and should play bigger than he does at times.

Davis does excel at blocking.

Other than that, go down and live for the next down if it is not a 3rd or 4th down situation.

I am pretty sure the coaches have been preaching YAC and Davis, who is terrible at YAC, was trying to accommodate.  He failed.

I saw a screenshot where his knee was down.  I didn’t see it from the stands and they didn’t show a good replay.

Was it clearly out?

You can see in the screenshot that the ball is already part of the way down his forearm. It was definitely moving before his knee was down.

It was a fumble.

The ball was clearly loose before his knee touched down.

If it was one of our defenders punching the ball out we would find it an easier call to defend.

Was a drive killer that hurt quite a bit as they were just getting into a good rhythm.

All turnovers are booth reviewed.

Only challenged ones, turnover on downs in normal time play.   Booth replay officials are solely responsible for stopping the game to initiate a review on any play that starts after the two-minute warning in each half and throughout overtime.

Depends.  What impact are you looking for?

The first impact the 1TDT/NT is supposed to have is "keep the linebackers clean so they can make plays".

Judging by the LB play, for the most part, it worked.

I guess I was looking for more penetration on passing plays. I think I got spoiled by Jones play and as a result better penetration by Oliver.
