Loss of Edmunds is going to expose Hyde and poyer

Said this when he signed with bears and I will say it again now.  Edmunds while frustrating sometimes made this defense what it was.  Hyde and poyer looked slow out there.

Mark my words we will get torched over the middle this year when not playing Zack Wilson, and give up many long runs.

Yea but we gave Ed Oliver a big contract so they won't even get to the LB right? Right?? Did Ed play last night?

Oliver actually played decent last night. Doubt he plays up to his contract, but run defense seemed a lot better when he was in.

We signed Taylor Rapp for a reason. He may be starting sooner than later... and regardless of injury to boot.

Ya think.  LOL

Funny how our "genius defensive mind" couldn't envision that.

Seems blatant.

Yes, he led all DLinemen in tackles.

Thanks for letting us know how trustworthy your sharp observations are.

interesting that we had 8 man fronts on defense with Rapp in the box as MLB at many points.

Did you see much of that in the first half? I saw them running it later, but not really earlier.

the contracts for Edmunds and Oliver are nearly similar, but they went with the disappearing DT.  I said this offseason, Trade Oliver, free up over 10 mill in cap room and add to the team.

I did not see it early. I may rewatch this game. Hackett showed the ability to change his style midgame, very unlike him. Once they got confidence in Hall and he got confident with himself it changed the game.

I definitely noticed Rapp being the leader of the defense when he moved in the box. Adjusting players, calling out formations, etc. Very interesting.

Not even Edmunds in particular, rather the complete lack of planning for it.

Hyde looked decent to me. Neither safety has ever been a burner.

was it Benford who was able to catch up to Hall and keep him out of the end zone?

Yes, he chased down Hall. Good thing that Wilson was celebrating early and decided not to block!!

Jets linebackers are fricken incredible.  Milano plays bigger than he is. The other guys are tiny or slow.

Well, remember, it's by design.  McBeane want faster coverage guys in the back 7.

So that's what we have.

And they do that pretty well.  It simply comes at an expense.

Not in the first half we didn't.

Also, that's a trash exaggeration.

At least bring truth to the discussion.

Those runs had NOTHING to do with poyer and Hyde!!!!

blame Tre for the 80 yard scamper lol. Duh you bring legitimate argument to the table

OK.  I'll bite.  What's not right?

You’re blaming Hyde and poyer for what?

run support?

I saw Tre white whiff not those guys?

Take away that run that Tre whiffed on and - well it’s a respectable run stopping night actually ?

Nothing the defense did last night was remotely bad - was better in my opinion

so how are you right?

Poyer definitely had something to do with the Hall's long run

How do you figure. He's actually agreeing. 8 man box means they couldn't stop the run with 7.  Also Wilson couldn't test what I was saying.  Let's see what adams does next week.

I bet Adam’s won’t do a thing.  Jimmy g will throw multiple picks and under 200

rhe world will be right again

Hahaha.  Watch again.

Hyde came running up too fast and ran right into a blocker then hall embarrassed poyer like he wad a high school player in open field.

You might want to watch the entire play instead of just White.

If you read it.  I also said it will be more in pass game.  But watch that run again.  See who had a shot at him.

This.  Hyde and poyer both had a shot.  Both looked old and slow.

As did Hyde.

Hyde was on the other half of the field and had nothing to do with that gap.

Poyer got caught in no man's land, probably because he was eyeing somebody else's assignment.

Rousseau wasn't wide enough and got buried by a good double.

My guess is that Bernard was the primary culprit there.

right, that’s the Tremaine loss. Not a stud play maker, but range speed and size. Hopefully Kirksey can still do it, then I feel better about the middle of the defense.
