Gregg Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago I would say besides Allen that Cook is a concern for opposing defenses. He is the only legit threat we have to take it to the house from anywhere on the field. As for our WR's and TE's opposing defenses take them as seriously as a three stooges' episode. 2 Quote

The Announcers last night were saying the same- almost laughing at this collection of low talent nitwits! You can see Allen’s thought process… ” How can I throw to myself to guarantee ONE separated open WR?” 2 Quote

People on TV have to say stuff, negativity is what attracts you. Realize that and look at the whole situation over time. This team will get back on track the only question is if they can get over thebhump in the playoffs. Same question would exist if they were 6-0 With the greatest of respect, this is borderline delusional. We have never looked this bad in the last two years. Herm is saying what most of us are seeing - we looked pedestrian even in our wins. Put us up against an above average team and it exposes our many weaknesses. Yes, we will get players back from injury and suspension. But that will only be a band aid over the gaping wound of roster mismanagement and crimes against a reigning MVP. Beane has failed this QB and it's fanbase. 2 11 2 Quote
oldmanfan Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago I respect Herm’s thoughts - the man knows football. So if Cook is a weapon use him. 2 Quote

On ESPN Sportscenter he gave the following precis of the Bills post game when asked who he thought they were: "They are capable of beating the teams they should beat and have beaten. But the teams they've lost to are a little bit better than the Buffalo Bills. And you don't want to say that - it's hard for me to say that because I'm a Josh Allen fan. But now I've been watching them, and I'm going 'who scares you when they break the huddle'? It's like ooooh, I don't know. I mean, apart from Josh and Cook, the other guys are good players - but they don't scare you" When asked if he thought they were middle of the pack: "Yeah - because of that guy - Josh Allen! Usually Josh Allen fixes everything for them. It seems like all the time he fixes everything. And they generally play it close when he has the last possession where they can maybe win the game. But now all of a sudden it seems like the run is starting to wear him down" My personal view is that this is a damning indictment on the roster building philosophy of Brandon Beane. Sobering stuff. I’ve been saying it for 3 years. It’s painfully obvious . And I’m nothing special. 2 1 Quote

Last night you could see Allen pressing and forcing things trying to make something happen. Right now, this team has no shot at a Super Bowl, and they might not even win the division. The real question is when will Terry do something about it. 3 Quote

I was going to start a topic about the root cause of the problem - a nice owner who won't fire McBeane until 17 is on crutches and/or retires. What an epic waste of a generational QB. BuffaloBill Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago The Bills looked outmanned last night. They are supposed to have one of the top o-lines but it does not show. The team appears to be slightly dysfunctional and without identity right now. Neither side showed a 1/11 th mentality. It’s sad because some of the guys we paid or brought in during the offseason, other than Cook, are the problem - Benford, Bernard and Trey collectively look bad. Quote

Beane has failed this QB and it's fanbase. It's the entire organization. Not just Beane. It's McD. Beane has a chance to fix somethings but he has too much to fix to have a chance. We need a WR or two right now. Hairston, Ogajobe, Hochte, and others can make a difference when they return. Rosseau, Bernard, and Shakir all deserved their contracts but need to step up. 2 minutes ago, BuffaloBill said: The Bills looked outmanned last night. The OL came out blasting the Falcons in the second half. We looked like we were gonna start the 3Q annew with a different purpose. Power running with a dash of simplicity for Josh. We came in and dominated to a TD. Then pulled Cook. It was kind bottling. Quote
mjt328 Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Josh Allen scrambles around to buy an extra 4-5 seconds, and STILL can't find anyone open. Anywhere on the field. That is absolutely pathetic. Yet when we are on defense, the QB takes a 3-step drop and our defensive backs have already totally lost coverage. 4 Quote
Brandon Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago (edited) Unfortunately, it's been pretty obvious to just about everyone except Beane and McDermott for several seasons now. When you have to make panic moves during the season to add Beasley, Brown and Cooper in two of the last four years, that should be your first clue. None of the FA signings in that time have panned out. They unloaded Diggs and Davis after 2023 and their one big investment, Coleman, looked like a bust in the making in the second half of last year and they did very little to hedge their bets. Now, he looks to be continuing that trend toward bust territory again this year. I'd be slightly more forgiving if not for that Beane radio interview after the draft where he really went after the critics of his roster strategy at WR, but that made it clear that this was intentional. And it's looking like a catastrophic failure...one that many of us have predicted would eventually happen for at least a couple of seasons. Edited 22 hours ago by Brandon 2 Quote
Billsfanatic8989 Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago He is spot on. He is also being generous by calling these other players "good". They are a bunch of Jags with the inability to beat man coverage, run the correct routes, or...really do much of anything. They need a legit #1 WR to push these other guys down where they can capitalize. Defenses will continue to stack the box which will lead to offensive outputs like last night. 1 Quote

TheyCallMeAndy Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago I think right now, 10/14, there is no WR/TE that really scares anyone. I don't think anyone on defense is worrying OCs right now. Quote

Bruffalo Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Talent is definitely part of the problem, but they won consistently last season with mostly the same or worse talent. The playcalling and execution has fallen off a cliff. Brady has been trying to get way too cute with a lot of third down calls, and the players are screwing it up. They're taking Cook off the field in the most important moments with tons of time on the clock so Ty Johnson can come in and block? It's borderline negligent. The coaching staff is too high on themselves and isn't seeing the forest for the trees. Neither side is doing a good job scheming to player strengths. 1 1 Quote

Also if you go back to last year about the same time they got stomped by the ravens and Texans and a lot of the same discussion was happening. Quote
