Big Turk
Maybe a few spots too low, but pretty fair. Shows how good Allen is. What do you think Burrow or Hurts would do with the 20th ranked WR corp?
Sierra Foothills
10 hours ago, corta765 said: Why are people upset? This is pretty accurate. Heading into last year the unit had more unknown but positive feelings on the WR corp as Gabe looked unreal in the post season ready to take the next step and McKenzie had some big games that also feel that way plus Crowder/Shakir were thought to be ready for the slot. Now we unfortunately know Gabe isn't a true WR2 and more a WR3 type guy, they realllyyy need a slot guy with Beasley gone but they are expecting that from Kincaid, and Shakir while showing promise needs to do more and the only other additions are lower intrigue FA guys. Their certainly not bad, but after Diggs they currently have a lot of WR3/4/5 esq guys and they need to hope someone elevates to a WR2 spot or the group itself elevates. Who's upset? 5 hours ago, Gugny said: I’m still struggling to understand how one’s bad ankle prevents his hands from catching perfectly thrown passes. In the second half of last year the Buffalo News reported that Davis was playing through a thumb injury... FWIW.

Gabe had an ok year, but many were expecting a meteoric rise and that just plain did not happen. The new TE isn't going to move the needle in WR rankings. We've got some intriguing young players but none that have shown anything amazing just yet The thing about KC's ranking is that their best receiver is not a WR but a TE The Bills would like to move in the direction of one of our top 3 WR being a TE I believe. That's what the draft implies.

eball
The Bills are middle of the pack (i.e., anywhere from 12-20). Anyone who suggests they should be higher is a homer, and anyone who suggests they should be lower is a contrarian or has an axe to grind. SoCal Deek
Seems like a bit of a name recognition beauty contest to me. The Bills were in the Top Six in passing yardage last year (assuming they’d played all 17 games). SOMEBODY must be catching those passes….no?

This place cracks me up, and this is absolutely no reflection on you, just speaking generally. You just seem to mimic the more-than-not consensus on this perfectly. But after we signed Harty & Sherfield I argued that those signings wouldn't move the needle and propel us upward in our receivers and took a rash for it. ... And now this thread. LOL That's the best thing about this place, it never gets boring, even if it is schizophrenic.

Well the difference is the Chiefs have Mahomes making use of a group like that and the Ravens have Jackson (when he's able). OBJ was putting up Gabe Davis stats in the season before he again shredded his knee. Other than him, they didn't have a WR over 500 yards last year. Adding Agholor, who is solidly in the journeyman phase of his career doesn't move the needle. Sure, they have a few guys who can play in the league--but I wouldn't put them above the Bills crew as it is going into the season.

He misses some catchable passes, but he’s also had a lot of inaccurate passes thrown his way. In short, I’m glad we have him and I think he’s a solid #2 (absolutely NO pun intended)! Agree. Ankle is no excuse. What's odd is he makes some really difficult sideline catches and then misses a few easy ones. Hopefully he cleans that up this year Still doubt they can afford him. Four years of decent production on a cheap contract followed by a decent comp pick is good value.

Knox had a similar first couple years, re: dropping easy ones and catching difficult ones - and he was able to improve. Hopefully Gabe can, too.
Kaenon
The hate on Gabe on this forum is ridiculous. How many other notably drafted WRs by the Bills went on to record 1950+ yards and 20 TDs in their first 3 seasons? (4th) A. Reed? Yes on yards (2128), no on TDs (16) (1st) Moulds? No (1942 yards, 11 TDs) Price? Yes on yards (2050), no on TDs (13) (2nd) J. Reed? No (1st) Evans? Yes on yards (2878), and yes on TDs (24) (2nd) Parrish? No (2nd) Hardy? No (7th) S. Johnson? No (3rd) TJ Graham? No (2nd) Woods? No (3rd) Goodwin? No (2 1sts) Watkins? Yes on yards (2459), no on TDs (17) (2nd) Z. Jones? No Statistically speaking, Davis's first 3 seasons are among the best of recent, modern-era NFL WRs drafted by the Buffalo Bills.

It’s hilarious how much people loved Davis last year and now he’s a bum. pretty good list. Washington is too high. Chicago did a great job remaking a trash group. Jags could be higher. Wonder how some bills fans will discount Mahomes if he does awesome wirh this group (Rice could be a stud). Agree...Commanders, Bears and Saints way too high. Ravens too low. We should be around 16-17? Hopefully Gabe plays like a man possessed and Shakir/Harty step up. Now if you had a TE duo ranking, we'd probably be top 3 or higher.
