Has there anything been announced on the color of the seats in the new stadium? Will they again be blue. Have to admit Highmark does look cool from above. With the large overhang/roof on the new place, doubt it will look as good from above. Every rendering has shown a mix of red and blue. I think it looks cool. And the model: Edited July 24 by JDHillFan 5 1 Quote

Wonder if they will do something with the roof, like paint the Bills logo on it, or every 200 feet, paint a buffalo 1 Quote

But it would be cool to have charging bison running laps around the roof. Perhaps even chasing a frightened dolphin or two. 1 Quote

SoCal Deek Posted July 24 Posted July 24 Best video I’ve seen is a new in depth tour done by local television WIVB. It’s a full 30 minutes long and goes over the entire stadium construction progress, amenities, etc from top to bottom. It answers everyone’s questions. It was interesting to learn that they’ll be laying sod in about 90 days. Very well done! I’m sure someone can post a link. 1 Quote

In the 3rd quarter the overhead announcer will make a comment about getting loud and "raising the west herr roof" or something. 1 2 Quote

They’re making major progress on the surrounding sitework (pavement, curbs, gutters, and planters) while the weather is good. As regards the ‘wind confusion’ panels, from what I’ve seen these are nothing more than perforated metal panels; which have been a popular architectural product material/aesthetic for a few years now. At the Bills new stadium I think they’re just referring to them as a wind confusion treatment because it sounds ‘cool’. They primarily line the outside of the concourse areas beneath the stands. But again…it sure sounds cool. 1 Quote

As you well know, those perforated panels have a specific design function to convert wind from a turbulent flow into a smoother laminar flow. It’s less about the aesthetics than it is about the function. Although, aesthetically, using part of the Bills logo as the shape of the perforations is a nice touch. And I predict that when the stadium is finished the days of those harsh lake Erie winds having an impact on games and spectator comfort will be a thing of the past. But that walk from the lots to the entrance will still be a major PIA when the weather changes. 4 Quote

I’ve not seen them used to diffuse wind, but then again, why not? 1 Quote

I’ve not seen them used to diffuse wind, but then again, why not? The physics of “wind confusion” make sense to me. In this instance, you’ve got a very tall structure with the overhanging (and sloped) canopy that prevents wind from going straight into the stadium and “encourages” the currents to move up. Then, if the perforated panels do in fact “break up” the wind you’ve simply got a much less aggressive force attacking the structure. I’m really curious to see what it feels like inside. I assume they ran models of a full mock-up through a wind tunnel during the design stage… Quote
