I am just reminding myself that most treatment plans seemed to focus on Thursday as the day where we would likely know more.

From when my lil bro was induced in a coma, they usually pump them full of drugs to trigger dream state type thing.  

 

At least that is what i am told.

Being in the ICU on a ventilator is an unpleasant experience, to say the least.  They're ideally unconscious and don't recall.

Bottom line is everyone on here and the TV Doctors are all speculating. Let’s wait from the doctors in Cincinnati that are treating Damar to give the whole world an update and cause of this tragedy. Just praying 🙏 for Damar to make a full recovery. Get well soon!

A concussion would not be the medical staffs concern at this time.  A concussion would have no impact in what happened Damar.  It’s not that he was “knocked out” by hitting his head in this situation.  Him being unresponsive is caused by is cardiac emergency.

 

If there was concern of head trauma, a stroke/brain bleed, it would be looked at prior to cooling the patient. My understanding is it is protocol for a CT to be done prior to cooling.

Wow i'm so sorry.  

 

Couple days ago before Bill's game my mother passed out on ground in store. But is ok. People helped out. Everything is good. Low blood pressure.  It's like a double whammy here. Thoughts and prayers for Damar. 

 

My niece couple years ago, had coxsackie b myocarditis went to emco for a month with covid starting (sorry mods just trying to say worried).  My sister told me hands turning blue. Just right timing for surviving.  Was worried a whole month. A month on ecmo not for sure how long. Low percent chance survive but she survived doing really well. Everything is well Drank everyday.  Sorry for off topic little bit.

 

 

So happy everyone coming together for Damar. Thoughts and prayers for Damar.

So did McD go to the hospital on Monday night? I'm assuming yes, but didn't see or hear that confirmed anywhere. The hospital seemed to be continuously staked out by media since shortly after DH was wheeled in there.

It isnt. Ever heard of HIPAA?  No information can be shared unless authorized by Hamlin or maybe in this case, his parents. Also, this is a very slow process and a long waiting game.  There likely isnt much to share even if authorized.

The Bills put out a release that he showed improvement yesterday into this morning.

 

I could be wrong but the common sense side of me believes Damar is definitely on the mend. I wouldn’t think the Bills themselves would put out a release like that and get our hopes up if there wasn’t a very good chance he pulls out of this.

 

I guess I could be wrong but the Bills statement has me in a lot better mood today and certainly more hopeful.

Honestly, no news is good news IMO, especially combined with earlier statements that he was improving.

It's a terrible thing what happened and I think human nature, for some, is to find an outlet or target for the range of emotions that are felt.

 

I just wish people were more cognizant of that.

No rush to declare victory … just improve each day and get closer to full recovery

When my father was on a ventilator he was conscious at times, which surprised me.  He wrote me notes on a notepad.

he was asking about induced coma.  you have to be awake to get weaned off the vent or at least breathing on your own

Ah.  Yes, not induced coma.  Different situation for my father.  Immunotherapy for cancer caused his body to attack his lungs among other things.
