I just mentioned this in another thread about the Dolphins and their quick turnaround under McDaniel, but just think where this team could be next year if the Pegulas aren't afraid to make a bold move in terms of GM/HC change. The foundation is there with a franchise QB and you get a coach that runs a real defense and make some tweaks offensively and this team can truly ascend next year even in a monster that this division is becoming.

 

I am not sure what you are smoking, but you should probably either post on the board or smoke the good stuff, but not both at the same time.

They need to draft offense early and often next year, not fire the GM/HC. But criticism will be warranted if they don’t turn it around.

How many teams are stacked with only top talent? Ridiculous. 2nd scoring offense. Knox, Davis are better than average. Sure it's not Kelce or the Jefferson/Thiele duo but anyway

 

This offensive line is woefully average on their good days and everyone thought a coaching change would make a difference but is hasn't. Beane whiffed on both guards and Spencer Brown is having that dreaded Buffalo sophmore slump for the most part.

 

And I agree many teams aren't stacked with elite talent, but when you look at what Veach (who is a real big balla) is doing in KC in terms of knocking it out of the park in recent years with both high and late draft picks and you can't help but be envious of the situation. Especially after replacing an entire offensive line after a trip to a SB and watching his QB get ravaged by the Bucs. Bills are pretty much going to need to do the same next year even if there is no wholesale coaching changes.

Spencer Brown is a liability. I know he had zero offseason due to the back injury but he needs to go to the bench when Dawkins returns.

 

Quessenberry is a bit more stable, but still a backup quality RT. 
 

I actually wonder if when Ike Boettger is healthy we won’t see Bates shift out to RT and Boettger at RG.

He did…but he always had a slot guy that was always open too. Right now, we don’t have receivers outside of Diggs that are consistently open.

It's the line more than anything.  The receiving talent is above average after Diggs - it would work if Allen had more protection.  It will help if we get Crowder back at some point. He was making a difference.

 

I hope they continue to make investments in the line, and think they will.

Dawkins and Morse are solid players.

 

They felt Bates and Brown would be very good starters for them. They thought Saffold was a good stopgap LG for a year.

 

This was by design. They could’ve done other things at both OG positions. They could’ve tried to upgrade OT and make Brown a swing depth OT. They wanted this OL.

 

If the offense continues down the path they’re heading it’s a Brandon Beane failure.

I agree with their assumption that Saffold was a good stopgap. However, they didn’t bring in anyone via the draft that could sit a year and step in next year. Now, we either have to sign another vet or draft a rookie and hope they come in ready day one.

They moved Doyle to OG and love Boettger remember.  I fully believe they feel they were set at OL for a few years.

Actually McKenzie and Knox are getting separation. I think the issue with those two is gameplan. We seem reluctant to just stick with them if teams are letting us have them. The last two weeks we have and it has made a difference. 

 

Davis isn't a big separator but that isn't really his game. The issue has been holding onto the ball for him.

Maybe so, but they are setting themselves up for a lot of criticism if they don’t address the oline and the weapons this off-season.

What KC has done is truly impressive, it really is. But it doesn't make Beane and the rest bad or average. As a comparison, Von Miller is a star, but he's not a DPOTY.
