What's wrong with Rodgers?

  1. 1. What do you think is contributing to Aaron Rodgers' poor play?

    • Lack of talent at skill positions
    • LaFleur
    • Ayahuasca
    • New contract
    • Weird hippie girlfriend
    • No pressure from the bench (Jordan Love sucks)
    • Other ('splain)
    • All of the above

Steady exodus of talent surrounding Rogers and a lack of new talent rising up to replace the losses.

Aaron seems like a QB that has kind of lost a locker room, much like coaches do, but who knows? He has never been the most warm QB out there.

He also seems distracted and like he is just going through the motions. His protection breaks down quite a bit and he cannot find any receivers gaining separation so holds the ball quite a bit longer so is getting the snot beat out of him. They lack that threat of a running game or have just abandoned it so it is not there to take some of the pressure off him either.

Defense has been suspect for a while... there is a lot wrong with this team and it starts with the leadership acquiring and keeping the right talent, sending all the wrong signals to their QB, and not really showing a clear vision. I just don't see them pulling out of this tailspin. Even if they did the NFC Central is no where near the level of team play you are seeing from NFC East this year...

I used to look at GB and wonder how do they keep hitting on all these great receivers, but they have not had that same level of success from their personnel department the past few years.

Playing shoddy in a shoddy division....

1. Lack of talent (Adams would obviously make a huge difference)

2. LaFleur. I think we have an adequate sample size now showing that this GB coaching staff is good, certainly an upgrade from McCarthy, but it's hindered by their maligned relationship with Rodgers and what seems to be a lack of team-building ability.

3. Age. Each year is going to get tougher for Rodgers.

Yeah, they drafted a WR in the 3rd in 2021 - who has a grand total of 5 receptions on 9 targets so far - and a WR in the 2nd (7 receptions on 11 targets) and 4th (26 receptions on 38 targets) this draft.

And it's not like Lazard and Cobb are a super dynamic duo keeping them off the field.

Rodgers is 100% missing Adams, who is a Beast, and even Valdes-Scantling.  I think we would have to say talent selection and development have not been as successful as their fans might hope, at WR.

Didn't Big Ben kind of fall off the cliff at 38?  Yeah, he played until he was 39, but it kind of hurt to watch him.

Time to go on the record as to why the reigning, repeat MVP suddenly looks like a listless JUGS machine without the pop. I have some hot takes and I want to hear yours.

Much has been made of Green Bay's inability to draft offensive weapons in the first round. Doubs and Watson have a lot of promise but they're raw, coming from small schools without premier football programs.

I don't necessarily think LaFleur is a bad coach, but if the endorsement for him is anything like the endorsement of Nate Hackett (he was Aaron's drinking buddy) you have to wonder if there's any firepower on this staff that can get Rodgers to care.

I know it's funny to joke about the ayahuasca experience but if you listen to anyone who isn't a drug-addled weirdo talk about it you quickly find out that it's not all (if any) good for everyone. Powerful hallucinogens have the ability to change people, for better or for worse.

Three years/$151M in guarantees/$101M guaranteed at signing. 'Nuff said.

Shailene seemed like a nice girl 😢 this new one reminds me of Gwyneth Paltrow in all the worst ways.

Related to the new contract, the Packers couldn't have been more clear in their messaging that Jordan Love is going to be a bust (can we call him a bust if he never starts?). He's bad and they should feel bad for drafting him when they did.

he hates the team and the GM. He will take their $50 mil a year mind you, who wouldn’t, but he cares very little at this point.

Simple, he doesn’t give a ***** anymore. I was reading some of the packers fans comments and most want him traded off the team. He has zero drive and desire, he can’t move like he used to and like Russell Wilson he doesn’t want to take any contact/pops. He probably knows he isn’t going to the SB ever again so he squeezed all the money he could get out of GB in compensation.

Yeah Rodgers isn’t going to last into his mid 40s like Brady has. And even Brady looks 100 percent done this season. Now’s the time for LaFleur to see what they have in Love and to see if they need to draft another QB in 23 which is supposed to be a QB heavy class

I think Rodgers might not believe in this teams vision when it comes to roster construction, and how to build a winner.

They have taken away from his weapons, and drafted his apparent replacement years before they should have.

I would've asked to be traded long ago if I was him

Except nobody in the NFL would be willing to give up what the packers would want back in draft capital & player trade. Plus I doubt anyone would want to deal with his diva attitude and ego

What’s wrong with him? You mean beside him being a crying baby POS?

well, he decided he wanted a $50m/yr contract and the packers had no choice but to let Adams go because they couldn’t pay him. So the answer is, Rodgers has nobody to throw to. He should rot in his decisions and look terrible for the rest of his days until he walks off the field for the last time with his stupid hair.

oh, and if we want to start the same thread and ask what’s wrong with Devonte Adams, we can just swap out their names and contract numbers and it still holds true.

It’s funny I told my brother ( who’s a raiders fan) that Adams wouldn’t be as effective without Aaron throwing the ball to him and that Rodgers wouldn’t be as good without Devante bailing him out like he used to. Both theories have been proven right so far.

He said it himself, he’s old and ***** hurts.  He has absolutely nobody to work with outside of a pair of decent RBs.  The Packers screwed him year after year in terms of bringing in talent, I think he took them to the shed on his last contract and doesn’t give a crap anymore.

Contracts.  That's what is wrong.

His contract doesn't permit the Packers to build the quality team around him.  They are forced to build a cap-efficient team around an aging, expensive QB, with his salary alone at 13.3% of cap.  For comparison, Josh Allen is at 7.9%.

They've also held on to the oft-injured Bakhtiari too long.  He represents the next 6.2%.

They are grossly overpaying Preston Smith, the next 5.3%.

Then he should’ve retired. This is the same bull#### that Rothlesberger was pulling for almost 3-4 on Pittsburgh before he finally walked away. If your already thinking about life after football then your’e already retired, the moment you stopped giving a ***** about your team as a whole, your’e already retired. Some guys just don’t know when/how to walk away. One thing I’ll give Kelly is he knew when it was time to walk away. Especially after he admitted after Hull retired he didn’t have much interest playing on Sundays anymore.

I think you are dead wrong on that.   I could absolutely see a contender who loses their QB try to swing that, the problem is going to be the contract.   It would probably require the Packers converting all the salary to bonus and paying it out before trading him to make it work for another team.  If Stafford went down, I could see the Rams going for it.  You have to look at the windows of opportunity that some teams have and think it might be worth it.

Wilson got a great return for Seattle, and Denver ponied up big money to him… regrettably at this point..  teams get desperate.
