Yea he, Linderbaum, Ojabo and Nakobe Dean are all either 1sts or borderline 1sts on my board but don't find a home in the mock.

Hill it is based on the intel that he interviewed very poorly and did not impress on his visits. I have had a couple of good amateur draftnicks in other markets say to me they have heard Lewis Cine is very likely to go ahead of him, which on pure talent is the wrong way around.

Ojabo obviously it is injury, Linderbaum is just so scheme specific he is hard to find a spot for. The guy I felt least comfortable leaving out was Dean. My instinct is that his name does get called somewhere by a team who just goes BPA over strict need.

Great work as always. My random thoughts.

1. I like how you sorted it out in top 10. I still refuse to believe that Jags take Walker but they are the Jags afterall.

2. I think if top 4 goes like and the Giants want Stingley+OT then it makes more sense for them to pick their OT first and select Stingley at 7. Do you think that Panthers are a threat to take him? Or do you think there is a threat that somebody might jump to take Stingley? That would be costly for a CB. However, if they don't care which OT to take then yes, just take Stingley and let the rest figure itself out (and they still might have chance to choose from them).

3. I like your Smith pick to Eagles. Something like this happens every year and he is a good cadidate for an unexpected jump.

4. If Williams was still on the board at 18 I wouldn't hesitate to offer 3rd round this year and something extra to Eagles to trade up. Same with Saints (which probably wouldn't work if they want him). But Eagles might bite. That is actually one of my dream scenarios.

5. I have a feeling that Cards will do some random selection. It will not be anybody expected.

6. Booth to the Bills at 25 is still my most favorite semirealistic scenario. Please make it happen in 12 hours and 25 minutes :)

7. I truly appreciate that you let go that crazy idea of Tom Brady Buccanneers drafting QB in the first round you had before :) However, they imo take either Green or some DL - my guess is Logan Hall.

8. I like who you mocked to Chiefs. They are drafting lot of players high, and if Moore and Mafe is the best what they can do, then great. I am afraid that they will do a lot better in real draft.

9. Cincy takes Kenyon Green if he is available. I doubt that they take corner if they can bolster OL by a prospect expected to go higher.

10. I love Lions picks. I wish them the best, they deserve some success. Hutchinson + Watson? Yes please.

Apparently he has been terrible throughout the interview process according to a lot of different sources. Smokescreen or fire, idk.

Could not be suckered by the Breece Hall hype train, huh?  Good for you sticking to the value on the board.  I would be very pleased with this pick, although Chris Olave going so close to their pick is intriguing.  I could see them jumping up a few spots here if the board fell this way and they really do have concerns about Booth.

I'd be happy with Booth there and sleep well tonight; however, if Jameson Williams is sitting there at 19 when the Saints are on the clock, I'm picking up the phone and at least inquiring what it would take to get them to slide back six spots. That is at least within a realistic striking distance.

I like it @GunnerBill.  What is the difference between Booth and Gordon in your view?

I think Booth is a superior player right now, he is just more polished. I think Gordon has a high ceiling and he could be as good as a Booth, but he will take a bit more time to get there.

I think it is mad but it does seem everyone believes he is going #1.

The latter. I think the risk is Carolina have been calling teams about getting out of #6, and it appears the league has Stingley and Sauce well ahead of the other corners. So the risk is maybe the Vikings jumping up from #12?

I am all but convinced he goes tonight and as I said in the mock I got a tip that the Eagles were all over him at his pro day.

I did this as a no trades mock, but obviously if Williams and Olave do slide a bit then the Bills trading up a few spots is on the table.

Yea, really hard team to mock for. I nailed it last year with Zavon Collins but they are notoriously unpredictable.

Again bit of an intel selection - told they were super impressed with Lewis Cine at his visit to the facility. Generally Jason Licht picks guys his coaches ask for. Can see Bowles loving him.

As I said in my write up on Skyy Moore, I think if the receivers go as they do in this mock - i.e. the run comes late teens and early 20s - then I very much expect the Chiefs to try and trade up for one.

Hmm. I think they'd go tackle if there was one there. Not sure about them going with an interior guy.

Yea, for Sewell and Hutch to fall to them in consecutive drafts is considerable fortune. But if ever a team deserved some....

Totally agree - I actually think Gordon might have a higher ceiling.  I noticed Sal picked Gordon today with Booth on the board based solely him having such a high ceiling - even with Booth being better immediately.

Really like the pick of Booth at 25. Fills both BPA and need perfectly.  Only other position I would go would have been WR with speed but with the top guys gone, it wouldn’t make sense without a bit of a reach.

@GunnerBill Do you see any round 2 Wr’s that can fill that role for Buffalo once we pick at 57? Was really liking George Pickens there who fell due to injury but it looks like the rest of the league caught on and don’t  think he makes it out of the first 10 picks of the second round (if not sneaking into the very bottom of the first).

I like Pickens, Tolbert and Pierce the most of the guys at receiver that I left out of round 1, and in that order! Tolbert might be the most likely to make #57. I love that kid. If he had played for Alabama and not South Alabama I think he'd be at worst in the conversation for end of the first round.

Having gm'd the Chargers in TBD mock #1, they really need an RT.  There's not much left in your mock, so I wonder if they'd try to jump up to get someone like Penning?

A LOT of other mocks I've looked at in the last hour have Davis and Penning the other way around. My thoughts on that are sure, but how does Penning make it past the Saints who need a tackle at #16? So if the Ravens go Davis and the Saints go Penning, maybe the Chargers go receiver?

Which team is most likely to throw the first big curveball of this draft? Every year there seems to be that “Whoa….. what the f***?” moment.

I wouldn’t put it past Seattle lol.

It's normally Seattle.....

32 – Detroit Lions – Christian Watson, Wide Receiver, North Dakota State

DJ Chark is currently the Lions #1 receiver. They need to fix that. Christian Watson is a boom or bust prospect but he is renowned as an excellent locker room guy with a first class attitude which I think would appeal to the culture they are trying to build in Detroit.

If all quality CBs are gone at 25 and trade back isn't fruitful enough, I wouldn't be upset with the bills gambling on Watsons upside. Seems like he has the attitude to be willing to learn from the best route runner in the nfl in diggs. And at the least as a rookie he could be a streak route burner that makes defenses have to adjust for his speed and size.
