Debt Ceiling Nonsense

Demented Biden is such an abject failure he can't even get his own party to agree.  He's botched so many things, nobody wants to be aligned with his ridiculous tax and spend "America Last" agenda.  Dude's already a lame duck eight months into his term.  Gonna get creamed in the mid-terms.  Should resign.

What

A

Mess

Taxes are the last thing people are worried about. Parts of the country are taking off and leaving many states behind.

When ai see young people moving to Florida and Texas, it really upsets me, because they don’t know any better. You can’t really tell someone in their 20’s anything tho. They have to learn the hard way just like I did. I got extremely lucky and had a few big years. Most don’t get that opportunity.

I'd like to have what you're on;  you are so far from reality it's actually quite scary.

People are generally not dumb (well, at least non-Democrats :) ) and realize that free gifts are not sustainable.

Republicans created the drama. It just doesn’t work anymore because no one is paying attention to them.

You’ve been losing a lot. A year in and Joe has no political or legislative losses.

Do you know how I know we’re winning so much? Because Irv claims the exact opposite on the realities.

Seriously, who is paying attention to the GOP right now?

You guys better find a real issue to talk about that isn’t manufactured or the whole country will have no choice but to tune into the 1/6 commission out of boredom.

I’m not sure which part of this all is most delusional.  But if they don’t increase the debt ceiling Armageddon will come before the Super Bowl

https://thefederalist.com/2021/09/29/democrats-latest-3-5-trillion-spending-spree-includes-1-3-billion-media-bailout/

A relatively unheralded program in the $3.5 trillion Democrat spending spree would provide well more than $1 billion in bailout funds to media organizations. You read that right: With our nation more than $28 trillion in debt, Democrats want to raise taxes to spend more money on their political allies in corporate media.

Because, of course.

DAVID HARSANYI: The Democrats’ Reconciliation Bill Is Unprecedented in Every Way.

“There was a time not very long ago when political parties never would have entertained the idea of jamming through any massive, generational reform without some form of buy-in from the other party.”

That was before Obama.

I just took a PT job with a neighbor. I thought you’d be pretty happy about that.

Anyway, we do screen printing and the like and we do Bills gear! Basically, anything alcohol/NFL related. Decanters, etc. There’s HUGE Bills logos that can cover your basement wall.

You will be our finest customer. Tell your friends!

I have to meet the other partner. I don’t think they’re Trumpers but we can probably print you up some.

He said that Bills fans and Tennessee fans are his biggest sales. Not surprising, since you’re all raging alcoholics.

Unemployment in Jersey got extended. White males like me don’t get things like that.  I just got bored. I need to bring in something on the books. You can only sit around for so long. They’re all stoners but I stopped smoking 20 years ago. I’m strictly Kratom and my meds that are presently keeping me alive.

What a joke

Why even bother taking a vote to raise it like you said it's nothing but a big joke !! Alls they do is just keep printing BS money .

What they need to do is vote to raise to keep the spending for every one but the dam politicians and send them all home with out pay for the rest of the year !!

The country wouldn't be in the debt or any of the troubles it's in if it wasn't for the num nut politicians that were voted in to screw stuff up !

I would bet most of them can't even balance their own check book yet they are put in charge to run a huge corporation like the US ... We are all so screwed !

Tax cut for rich under W Bush $1.5T ,  tax cut for rich under Trump $1.9T = $3.4T , did that help the average person ?

Yes.

The economy sped up on both occasions.

That you think that this question , equating that 3.4 trillion, with the democrats 3.5 handout, is a real point.......well

I have to re-think my opinion of your postings.

(yes, i know you don't care, but it was a foolish post (twice)

This a great visual.  The high and mighty man coming to the back of his mega yatch to talk to the poor schmucks in their itty bitty canoes.

I was thinking what a great metaphor that is for the current American autocracy.

An entrenched politician barking down from the aft of a ridiculously oversized yacht in a small river and landlocked state that we need to tax the rich to pay their fair share and help the poor to a bunch of kayakers….

just like AOCs pricey tax the rich dress at the 30k/ticket met gala.

I did not include the Reagan tax cut

It sure as hell did. Food was cheaper, gas was cheaper. I got a large tax return.

Despite the fact that it will hurt me as I contemplate heading towards retirement,  let the debt ceiling expire.  If one party has 50 votes to extend it it and the other party refuses to even vote,  from a political standpoint you'd much rather be on the side of voting to increase vs. not.  But to the main point, it is far past time for this country to reconcile its obsession with spending, and borrowing from our enemies to do so.  Let our debt obligation collapse, let a true economic crisis ensue.  That finally should convince not just politicians but all of us who vote for them and pretend that one side or the other pretend they are the party of fiscal discipline that is is time to really decide what the role of the federal government is, what it costs to do such, and to then craft a sensible tax strategy to pay our bills as we go and to pay down the debt that is killing our country.

Well thought out, but I’ll offer this. The Constitution already describes what government is supposed to do and American taxpayers already have a tax policy in place. How about our elected officials just stop spending!!!! Done.
