Question for registered Democrats who voted for Biden in the primary of which, I am niether.  Based on the mess we are in after only 6 months of Demented Biden's presidency - if you could change your primary vote, who would you pick?  Loco Brenie is looking pretty good at this point.  At this point I would take anybody who is lucid.  What a mess.

I wouldn't change it because he was pry the only candidate in the field that could've beaten both Sanders (a socialist) and Trump (a narcissist).  No other candidate had the name recognition or any semblance of blue collar appeal.  

 

Since he took office it's been mostly positive....  The stimulus package passed by Dems in March kept the economy afloat and the stock market up near all time highs. Over seventy percent of adults are vaccinated preventing lockdowns you're seeing in other countries because of the Delta variant.  I never thought this country would get to that 70% adult threshold.  He's largely ignored the progressive agenda (raising minimum wage to $15, forgiving student debt, "reforming" the police - whatever that means, eliminating the filibuster, etc.).  He actually was able to get a bipartisan Senate infrastructure bill through to the House.  Inflation was always going to be a problem with the reopening process no matter who was in office.

 

The biggest negative was obviously not only following through with Trump's deal with the Taliban to leave Afghanistan but the disastrous way in which we he implemented it.  Extending the eviction moratorium also ticked me off as landlords continue to struggle.

 

The thought of an alternative administration (whether it's Trump or Bernie) makes it easy to forgive.

However...

 

The endless stimulus that is causing rapid inflation that is going to get worse.  

 

Stimulus designed not to help the economy but to addict the voters to free money.  

 

He blatantly disregarded the constitution on the eviction moratorium and even SAID SO.

 

He refuses to take the border seriously because well its me so I'll just say it's because they want Lambda here.  

 

Now he's threatening states over their refusals to comply with ridiculous mask mandate when he should just be plugging (hair pun intended) the vaccine in a more constructive confidence affirming way.  It's just threats and doom and gloom - masks until January?  Why?  

 

He ceded Afghanistan and American credibility by telling our allies especially Israel and Taiwan "you won't be able to count on me."   

 

 

Disaster.  He's an epic disaster..

I appreciate you pinpointing one and it actually reinforced another reason I voted for Biden as Warren and Sanders would've banned all fracking which would have obviously driven up gas prices.  I'm for the policy of not giving contracts to companies to drill on public land (although he technically stopped all "new" permits in his executive order).  Conservation of some land in this country is important and public drilling accounted for about 5% of the crude oil extracted and 11% of the natural gas.  

 

The rise in crude oil is because producers decreased their production levels (both domestically and globally) last year because demand was low for the pandemic without as many cars on the road or planes in the air.  Now you have so much demand that the supply can't keep up as these companies were surprised like the rest of us in how quickly the vaccines were developed and distributed.  It's going to take a little bit for these companies to drive up production.  The ransomware attack on the Colonel Pipeline didn't help things.  Also, around $3.00 a gallon isn't bad for the summer months historically when you factor in inflation.  Ironically, the rise in gas prices might stop some of Biden's more ambitious fossil fuel production goals to combat climate change.

LOL, are you in the fossil fuels business, in any way?

I am:  I've been on the production side, the pipeline side, and the end-user side  I've been in the oil and gas industry since birth (and two generations before that).  I'm now in the down-stream side, first time I've been there in over 40 years of O&G experience, but I'll retire here.  That means, I'm in the very-government-controlled, utility-side of the industry.

I also own mineral rights, so I have a vested interest in seeing high-prices.  I do NOT want to see high prices.  It doesn't do any American well.

 

I'd love to argue what a good price for a barrel of oil is.  I'd LOVE to do that.  I suggest, $65/barrel is good for everyone.  If we can keep it around there, it allows domestic exploration and production to occur.  It also keeps the foreign people at bay, as it's not really beneficial for them to send us a barrel of oil at less than that price.

 

So, keep it at around $65, and we keep the bad-guys in their land, as it's not worth it to make stink here.  AND, keep it at that price, and we can produce, productively, here, and we're doing well.  That'll keep gasoline prices around $2.50/gallon.  I think we can all agree that's a reasonable amount.

 

BUT IT ALSO guarantees that we don't have to deal with foreign A-holes dealing with their production.  If we can keep it around $65/barrel, it's not enough for the jihadi's to want to ramp up production, but it's just enough to make it worthwhile for our country to have production such that we don't have to hear from, or deal with, the jihadis.  It's a win-win!

Good news, is, that he'll be out in the next year or so, even if that means the other woman takes over for him.  That party will lose all control of the house/senate in the next year'ish.  And, then, Americans will re-acquire the power when that happens, and when we 'elect' the next president.

Don't worry about high motor fuel prices.  The Democrats have a plan.  They are going to replace the entire gasoline powered vehicle fleet with EV's.  All they need to do is figure out where all that electrical generation capacity is going to come from without using any hydrocarbon based products to build out the infrastructure and maintain it and everything will be okay.  Forget about all the input materials for those vehicles.  They can mine space asteroids to get all that material.  I hear that's working great so far! 

But hey, they have lots of plans.  They'll all wonderful because every one of those plans have absolutely no risks or consequences.  All of us mere mortals can't see how this is possible.  Clearly something is wrong with us.  As they appear to have developed all their ideas through a new and advanced way of thinking that only their superior minds can conceptualize.
