What's concerning isn't the raw inflation number, it's the rate at which it's increased over the past year.  Think about this, if inflation were to increase at the same rate in 2022 like in 2021 inflation would be roughly 30% a year from now.

I'd like to kick Demented Biden, his communist buddies, and whoever is running the Executive Branch in the nuts for making my real wages go down more than 5%.  That is FOR NOW!!!!   What a failure.  When will this nightmare end?  Put Hillary in there.  Put in nut job Sanders.  Anybody but this clown.   It couldn't be any worse.

What a mess.

I'm assuming if you voted for the current regime then you have never run a business, studied economics, or even balanced a checkbook. You can't give everyone free everything, print endless dollars, and then expect everything is going to be ok. Where do you think the money comes from to pay for this socialist stuff? Do you see rich people selling their numerous houses and cars because they can't afford them anymore due to higher taxes? In fact rich people get richer during inflation because they own assets.

It's nice to want better for those who are suffering, but you have to have an actual realistic plan and throwing fake money at the problem is not the answer. You guys live in a fairy land and it's very sad to see.

I'm pretty much a centralist when it comes to politics. I don't care what you do as long as it doesn't impact me. I just try to have common sense, which the current clowns in office do not seem to have. Social media makes it worse because it gives a voice to people that we don't need to hear from. Growing up we were able to just ignore the stupid people. Now they are everywhere and they are all ganging up together. It's very sad to see. If you are getting your political advice from celebrities or people on Twitter then please just keep it to yourself because you fall into the stupid category previously mentioned.

I don't see how anyone could support what's currently going on or try and spin it as good. You are so against the "other guys" that you just ignore the stupid stuff your own party is doing. Please - everyone just needs to use common sense. This is getting ridiculous.

^^^

This is essentially what Democrats want to run on.  It's absurd, divisive, and fascist.

And it's inaccurate.  And that's why they all have to be voted out.  Either they're complicit or clueless or scared - and don't care about back to normal.

The WHO wants everyone on the planet vaccinated before they'll declare the pandemic over!  That's what makes this a global coup.

And even then (by 2046) no amount of vaccinations will be enough.

Because the protocols that are actually damaging society and the economy will never change and that's the problem.

You can still get covid.  You will still get sick.  You will still up in the hospital.  Many most likely the very old and sick will still die.

And thus the protocols will remain.  The CDC will not change guidelines.  And there will always be unvaccinated because this isn't smallpox.

Idiots.

As I've said repeatedly, COVID was going to ravage the US no matter who was President.  That's because America is a large country and the land of freedoms and people do what they want.  The only question was "how badly under whom?"

I have no solution for you other than instituting draconian measures that would infringe on those freedoms and kill the economy.

The problem with true isolationist lock downs is that in order for them to shut down the virus you have to shut EVERYTHING else down in the process. So while you may get rid of Covid, the human race ends due to starvation.

Unless all adults are fully vaccinated with booster we can't know if it really works. Adults will always die with other problems even if positive with covid. They have to determine the main cause of death or if covid made the problem worse.

Did not vote for him and don't agree with him so far. To be honest Trump might be better if he won. What is happening now is a disaster. Democrats are toasted in the 22 election if they don't turn things around fast.

Just to clarify, I was taking a swipe at the claims against HCQ.  You know, the safe medication that could have helped us, but Dems lied about it to make sure no one took it.

And sure, let's examine the exact cause of death for everyone.  And it should include the people who died while Trump was in office.

Where did I suggest any of that. Your placing blame squarely on Covid with the government and their response to Covid and the rising inflation gets a complete pass?

Inflation in the result of covid and the bad gov response to deal with it. Outsourcing is one cause of inflation . The gov should give big bonuses to new truck drivers and retired drivers to train them. More targeted bonuses for other critical jobs .  jmo

Huh? We already know from everyone's personal experience that that's simply not true. Vaccines are not a defense against the most recent strain of Covid.  They just aren't. While less deadly than previous strains, the current strain appears to blow right through the vaccination. I'm not making a political statement here. It is just everyone's experience over the past several weeks.

What a mess.

The storm of shortages have yet to really show up.  Those will be in February and March.

The media won't talk about it, but this trucker vaccine mandate at the US/Canada border is going to create problems the average American family will feel imminently.

New trucking vaccine mandate is likely to make fruit and vegetables more expensive

New vaccine mandates for truck drivers are likely to increase the cost of produce.

The cost of transporting fruit from California and Arizona to Canada climbed 25% last week, George Pitsikoulis, the CEO of Canadawide Fruits, told Bloomberg on Monday.

The executive, in Montreal, mentioned a lack of truck drivers who were able to cross the border between the US and Canada because of a vaccine mandate that cuts US trucking capacity in half, data from the American Trucking Association indicated. The group estimated that about 50% to 60% of US truck drivers were fully vaccinated. Stephen Laskowski, the president of the Canadian Trucking Alliance, told The Wall Street Journal that a survey of Canadian truckers suggested that over 10% of truckers in the country weren't vaccinated.

Canada's vaccine mandate for truckers was imposed on Saturday. The new rules require US truckers to present proof of vaccination in order to cross the border, while Canadian truckers without a vaccine passport are required to quarantine and take a COVID-19 test when they reenter from the US.

The US plans to impose a similar mandate on January 22, and trucking companies have already begun to boost their rates to compete for vaccinated truck drivers.

In December, Fuel Transport, a Canadian logistics company that employs about 90 truckers, began offering a $10,000 incentive to truck drivers who had received their first COVID-19 vaccine dose. In January, one of Canada's largest trucking firms, Bison Transport, started offering $2,000 signing bonuses for vaccinated truckers — an extra cost that Rob Penner, the company's CEO, said would ultimately be passed on to consumers.

That's what happens when you put Marxist academics and lifetime public sector employees in charge of business and economics.  They reject traditional business principles and common sense and believe their superior intellectual brilliance leads to the production of free and unlimited goods and services, all without requiring anyone to perform any real work, that magically fall from the sky like bright rays of sunshine!

This is pretty misleading for our illiterate right on this board.

”The cost of transporting fruit from California and Arizona to Canada climbed 25% last week”

This is an increase in food prices from US to Canada. The lack of vaccine wouldn’t impact US to US sales.

So your article has zero affect on US inflation and is highly misleading here.

Id argue it probably has a positive effect on US inflation since a logistics company would just route the 50 percent of drivers who normally would go to Canada to further US destinations. Thus helping US supply and decreasing prices.
