Week 5: Bills at Titans on Tuesday Night Football

The threat of forfeited games, vacated trophies and blown seasons is something no owner ever wants to face.  Which is why no team will ever be penalized in these ways.  Expect the same garbage of lost picks, wrist slap fines, and a "suspended" coach that can use any one of about a million messenger apps/social media platforms to keep tabs on his guys.

If you start forfeiting games because of broken safety protocols I think a whole new can of worms gets opened up.   The legitimacy of a championship starts getting put into question IMO. Costly fines, draft picks, to me this is a better way to get serious IMO.

Is more to the point they violate protocols after they were shut down and told to isolate.  They broke the protocols after breaking the protocols basically saying the rules don't apply to them.

No other team with positive players are having anywhere near this type of issue so it's worth making an example of them.

It’s being reported that some front office execs are furious and pushing for a heavy handed response from the league.

I agree, but I don't think it will become an issue.

If players see the Titans hit with a forfeit you can bet that there's no way in the world they will be "the guy" who costs their team a loss by being stupid. the peer pressure would be incredible.

IMO, this is incorrect. If you're talking about people wearing masks, fine the team. If you're talking about willfully organizing a practice when directed NOT to meet, yeah you deserve a forfeit. You're directly going against an explicit order

Your talking about events that did not affect the owners bottom line.

Things like this could kill the season.  Something significant will come from this.

I think this is a tough situation for all NFL Teams and players to be in IMO.  Depending on location some have it tougher then others.  I for one do not want a Buffallo Win from another teams forfeiter. I mean how far would the league be willing to go with this because I'm sure the Titans organization would like to defend themselves. If the league starts handing out game forfeiters for violation of safety protocols what does that do to the integrity of the game. How many more teams are going to run into problems?

I get where your coming from.

I'm not totally against game forfeiter as a last resort.

Historically does anyone know If this has ever even been done before?

Is there still a chance it gets played Sunday? They’d have to be free testing today and tomorrow so in building Friday?

They had two positives today so starting over tomorrow. Earliest they can get in is Saturday. Usually they require 2 practices so I don’t know what will happen. It could be waived like the day-of travel was for Pats

Wouldn’t those have been yesterday’s tests?
