I get what you’re saying, but the irresponsible knuckleheads are few and far between (but, granted, they get all the publicity from the outlets like Barstool Sports).

Rhetorical question; when WILL it be safe to tailgate again? ?

As long as it takes. Safety matters far more than time.

I got word of one lot that is allowing 50 fans in. Less than 10 spots remain available. There will be rules and procedures though, so don't expect your usual "anything goes" tailgate. Anyone interested? I'm considering it, since I still have my hotel reserved.

I won’t be able to make it down, but I’d be very interested in hearing more details (ie, masks unless you’re consuming food or beverage?  No walking up and talking to people outside of your party?)

Why cant private lots have tailgates? Isnt it their property? If the tailgate was kept under whatever Cuomos public gathering number is (50? 100?) then how can cops justify shutting those down?

I dont care either way so dont go attacking me, I just dont legally understand how these could be stopped.

Just call it a BLM protest and you’ll be fine...😉

Again, in other news people don't want to hear, rushing vaccines isn't a good idea. It has been done in the past and there have been significant problems. When I have friends in big pharma telling me to my face that they wouldn't rush to the front of the line for these it doesn't inspire a lot of confidence and I'm a fully pro-vaccination person.

Not to get too far into vax stuff, but this virus was fully mapped just 2 weeks after being identified and half a year ago.

There is no precedent that can be applied to this worldwide vaccine effort.  From the level of financial investment to the collective brain of every repected immunologist on the globe, this is truly unique.

When someone says "Oh I work in pharma, this is a rushed vaccine, be careful"  I bust out my tshirt with a pic of Fauci throwing out that horrendous first pitch and say "im followin THIS guy.... sure he can't throw AT ALL but thats because his brain sucks up all the muscle coordination."

Absolutely. But even if you had a fully tested safe vaccine you'd still have that percentage not getting it.

That won't affect those of us that get the vaccine though.

Either way everyone will develop immunity to this virus eventually, either by getting it live from another person or attenuated in vax form.

One is a helluva lot more friendly to your body than the other, but there are a lot of people that still think there is mercury and toxic additives to vaccines.  A LOT of people.  If I believed that nonsense I'd be passing on the vac too.

Depends who you talk to. Really your outside and if you stay in your bubble and maintain distance it should be as safe as most activities.

Where's the study? Link?

That is complete bunk. Do you even know what co-morbidity is?

Go to the CDC website. If you look at total excess deaths compared to total expected deaths, you get a significant jump. Over 10%, and some weeks 20%. To break it down, way more people are dying overall in 2020 than would have in a normal year. And this doesn't even count people who don't die but are debilitated from the disease.

https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid19/excess_deaths.htm

Attending games and tailgating would stupid, and dangerous to people who are at risk because a game or a tailgate could easily increase the spread of the disease. We don't need selfish acts like that. Just because you are healthy doesn't mean you can't pass it on to someone who isn't.

no more dangerous than going to a grocery store imo. Your outside and can easily distance.

Hypothetically speaking, you would be okay without a lot of activities for the rest of your life? Or do you have a time limit? That is quite the statement. Living 90 years in a bubble is better than living x years actually living. What is the x for you?

I've read a study where 94% of COVID19 deaths were due to comorbidity as opposed to sraight up COVID19 deaths.

I would say fans should be able to tailgate, and quite frankly attend games. We work in offices with recycled air, and only wear masks when within 6 ft, tailgating and game attendance is outdoors...

You have no idea what you are saying. You don't even know the meaning of the word co-morbidity.

Yes almost all people who died from COVID-19 had a comorbidity, it doesn't mean their comorbidity killed them. They died from complications of COVID such as respiratory failure, embolism, and heart damage caused by the virus or the bodies reaction to the virus.

There are hundreds of comorbid conditions like hypertension and obesity. Judging by a walk through the parking lot my guess is well more than half the people will have a comorbid condition.

The players really seem to like it. What’s the problem?

It's embarrassing. Bills fans travel as well as any fan base in the nation. That should be our story. Not drunks smashing tables.
