Jeep boss says it may might drop Cherokee name

Jeep's new boss says the company is open to dropping the name "Cherokee" from its vehicles in response to objections from the Cherokee Nation.

The company is engaged in talks with officials from the Native American tribe, according to Carlos Tavares, CEO of Stellantis, the recently merged automaker that includes the Jeep brand. Tavares made the comment in an interview with the Wall Street Journal and his comments were confirmed by the company.

Apparently not, according to the Left.

Incredible how these ACLU quotes lie in a blatant attempt to create outrage. It’s not banning medical care, it’s about preventing doctors from performing gender reassignment surgery, or prescribing puberty blockers and alternative hormones therapy to children. Inferring that maybe one should be closer to an adult before making such a huge life decision.

California bill would eliminate "boys" and "girls" toy sections in stores

Barbie dolls and tea sets should occupy shelves in the same aisle as superhero action figures and remote-controlled cars under a new law proposed in California.

Two lawmakers in the Golden State recently introduced a bill that would make the children's sections of department stores more gender-neutral. The measure would eliminate "boys" and "girls" sections at department stores with 500 or more employees. If passed, the law would force Walmart and other major retailers to restructure portions of their California stores or face a $1,000 fine.

MICHAEL WALSH: Saying ‘No’ to the Cancel Culture.

As the Lebanese-born essayist and statistician Nassim Nicholas Taleb has written, huge cultural changes are wrought by the smallest minorities: “It suffices for an intransigent minority to reach a minutely small level, say three or four percent of the total population, for the entire population to have to submit to their preferences. Further, an optical illusion comes with the dominance of the minority: a naive observer would be under the impression that the choices and preferences are those of the majority.”

Taleb’s point is that a small number of intolerant people with a passionate commitment to their cause can command the culture; he calls this “the minority rule,” and cites Alexander the Great’s famous aphorism that it’s better to have an army of sheep led by a lion than an army of lions led by a sheep.

So the next time the Left comes for some institution, act like a lion and just say no. Say no to wokism, no to the media robinettes, no to the platoons of captious hall monitors, Karens, and other assorted muttonheads who seek to shame you publicly for transgressions against the voices in their heads and the fillings in their teeth. Treat them with the same respect they treat you, which is none.

In short, take it from Dr. Seuss: “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot. Nothing is going to get better. It’s not.”

Read the whole thing.

The boldest text reminds me a lot of last year when so many Trumpers believed they were the majority. They themselves were the naive observer believing themselves as the majority.

Republicans: A bipartisan impeachment of a president who attempted a coup is a waste of time.

Also Republicans: Now today America, instead of helping Americans I’m going to read you Green Eggs and Ham.

Great to see Rep. Ryan give the kids a talking to:

Really, Republicans just hate capitalism. They’re mad about a private company’s decision. Typically a private company makes a decision because it thinks it’ll be profitable for the company (more Seuss books have probably been bought due to this). Same thing with Mr. Potato head. Republicans needs to stop trying to dictate how private companies operate.

As another poster quoted “Further, an optical illusion comes with the dominance of the minority: a naive observer would be under the impression that the choices and preferences are those of the majority.”

Yep... while I personally disagree with discontinuing books from a historically great author it’s hardly a topic the politicians to involve themselves in, especially the ones that pretend they are the pro business and family values party. More lies.

Hmmm quoting a former UK Prime Minister trying to make a point about the US constitution.

Oh good Lord, what an inane response.

I must assume that the thought behind the quote either alluded you or scared you.

The examples of the fake outrage here in America are seen hourly.

The only group I really see this apply to are Republicans. They’re using their free speech to moan about business decisions. When businesses tell them F off, it’s our business we will do what we want to do, they get all mad about free speech.

As a minority, Republicans really need to kick and scream as much as possible to feel like they’re in the majority. “Further, an optical illusion comes with the dominance of the minority: a naive observer would be under the impression that the choices and preferences are those of the majority”

Gotta hand it to this kid, despite being kinda dumb, he’s managed to exploit a horrible tragedy for his own benefit, and get away with it.

Even managed Harvard admission despite not even remotely reaching the standards for academic achievement.

Now that’s some serious privilege...

lol... I have no issue with what he did, and even agree with the sentiment in the ad, but it would have been a lot more authentic if he was protesting as a starter...

How to beat the woke: Never apologize, rally friends and punch back harder

by Glenn H. Reynolds

https://nypost.com/2021/03/25/how-to-beat-the-woke-never-apologize-rally-friends-and-punch-back-harder/

Americans hate woke culture, as I noted in these pages not too long ago. Black, white, Republican and Democrat, a large majority of Americans oppose it. Even people like former President Barack Obama, Bill Maher and ultra-liberal comedienne Sarah Silverman hate it (Maher calls it “Stalinist”). But it keeps going. Why is that? And what can you do about it — especially if you or someone you are close to comes under attack? In short, it keeps going because it’s easy and fun — and you have to make it less so. Lesson one: Don’t panic — and don’t give in.

while TNT was down 40 percent, and ESPN was off 20 percent

YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN SOCIETY UNLESS YOU HOLD APPROVED VIEWS:

Utah news outlet runs entire segment about local paramedic for … donating $10 to Kyle Rittenhouse.

And even in Utah, the alleged defenders of freedom in the news media are gleeful enforcers of social discipline.

Hey, news media: Don’t want people to think of you as garbage? Try not being garbage. This, by the way, is garbage.

They were not "cancelled.........they still could make records

they still could perform.

That is NOT what is meant by Cancel Culture.
