Car & Teddy 3Yrs $60M - apparently done. Cam looks like he is being released

He’s a super nice guy and I’m happy that he came back from that terrible injury.  But I don’t get the hype on Bridgewater.  He’s like Chad Pennington with a tan with less success.  I think the Panthers should keep Newton, hope he is healthy, and they can trade him for a higher pick.  TB isn’t the guy to lift a franchise up.  He’s a game manager.

If a guy built like Newton took that kind of beating in Carolina, Teddy B will snap (again) like a twig.  He's Tyrod Taylor without the escapability.

WTF 60 million for Bridgewater???????????. That’s ridiculous absolutely absurd. If I was a Carolina season ticket holder I’d be pissed off. This just solidifies that they’re tanking 2020

I wonder if Cam will start anywhere this year. He's been on the decline.

Miami, Jacksonville, Chicago, Detroit all need a QB and are desperate. Wonder if this will influence Detroit ***** canning Stafford

I'd say only Chicago is desperate. Jags have 2 decent QBs, Miami will be drafting one in the top-5 & plus Fitz, Detroit has either Stafford or can draft one at #3.

Cam is a shell of his former self, I wish him good luck in his endeavors, except if he is the Bills opponent.

Is this actually saying he’s been cut, or is this just opinion?

Forgot to update this title to match the other they started to overlap. It appears as if he is being released.

news was flowing on this and it shut right off after this...

Agree.  Dude was almost in a wheelchair.  Proud of that guy for coming back.  He earned it.

I can’t see Newton going anywhere to be a backup but with our Panther connection, there’s not a guy in the league I’d rather have as Allen’s backup. His playing style would allow us to not change a single thing in the case of injury.

I actually thought this but there is no way in hell Newton would be happy to be Allen’s backup and we won’t have an open competition.

and this Bridgewater deal makes no sense.

No sense for Carolina with Cam in house, of the deal worth makes no sense? I actually think $21M per is fair value.

TB has a career high of 14 tds in a season and a td to int ratio of 38 to 25.  He must be a really nice guy.

I mean, there are like 18 QB’s making more than him. He played well before his major injury. People were concerned he’d never be able to play again. He came off the bench this year and was very efficient with the ball. He’s paid like an average starter. That doesn’t seem like a reach to me.
