So John I’m going to assume you’re in favor of immediately closing the southern border?

Closing no. Closing to illegal immigration, 100%.

Our border should be secure or it's not a border. Trump framed it poorly but illegal immigration needs to be addressed.

That's what you take from this? Unvaccinated people caused this?

We're you dropped on the head alot as a child?

They're gone.

Totally lost.

Story:

Frank Reich, fully vaccinated sent home and put in isolation for testing positive for Covid.

Responses from members of the Branch Covidians:

"This is what's driving up Cases and hospitalizations.  And it's Trump voters fault."

Unbelievable.  Either they really are this stupid or they are just deliberately hiding from and refusing to address everything they've been proven wrong about.

The data is being very manipulated and alot of people are falling for it, it is human nature to want to be "led" especially in times of uncertainty and crisis.

I think it's comforting to people to have some all encompassing entity telling them what to do.

Agreed. As long as you're vaccinated and not in health care or contact with at risk people, s--t all over this idea.

sadly here in Western NY, at least in north Amherst (where two-thirds of women have the Kamala “little girl shadow” or RBG as their facebook profile pic), they’ll lap this shizz up unquestioningly, saying it’s an “act of kindness” or some similar nonsense.

Same where I am. My biggest personal concern is at my gym. I have a really good setup at home but much prefer the camaraderie of lifting around others. If mask mandates drop again, I'm out.

If I have to mask up at the grocery store, it's annoying but I will just do it again even though it's only the Jims of the world that need to be masked.

I'll wait on final judgment to see what these recommendations are. "Under certain circumstances" may be reasonable, may not.

China Has Rejected A WHO Plan For Further Investigation Into The Origins Of COVID-19

"It is impossible for us to accept such an origin-tracing plan," he said at a news conference called to address the COVID-19 origins issue.

That makes the lab origin look more possible now.

Deaths down 10% in the last 2 weeks and cases down well you can see...

10% of India is vaccinated.  Adults.

1.1 billion other people are not.

And they've been "open" since early June.

This makes no sense.  But none of this is supposed to.

I know this forum is more about political bickering than real conversation, but these stats for places like India just has to make any open minded person really wonder what is really going on and does anyone really have an actual clue.  Lack of vaccine rates there in India and a population density more than 10x than the US, but yet 1/6th of the death rate per million people than the US to date.  What about that makes any sense?   It's been illogical from the start that the US, with our barely top 200 overall population density, was one of the worst countries in the world to be for COVID, especially if staying 6 feet part is really the key.  The media and general population in the US always acts like the world revolves around us and ignores the rest of the planet, but this is a global pandemic.  Why is it not more of a common topic of discussion on why hasn't this virus completely decimated other countries, who in proportion to ours basically live on top of each other, at a many times multiple death rate of ours who simply can't keep people apart as effectively or provide as adequate of care?

A reasonable perspective John but when does it end? Out here in California the answer is clear…it never ends. It’s literally impossible to achieve 100% vaccinations but idiotic public officials are setting that up as the ONLY way out. The beatings will continue until morale improves!

When you’re getting such discrepancies in the outcomes of a non discriminatory pandemic you begin to question all the data.

Here in PA, I feel Governor Wolf learned something, and that's a credit to him.   He stated today that there'd be no new state mask mandate, and no new state mask mandate for schools in the fall.

I want to think he's come around to a bit more nuanced approach out of common sense, but I suspect the vote to curtail the governor's emergency powers did it.  Since voters did that in May, he's been a different governor as it pertains to the pandemic.  All of the restaurant lawsuits  from the winter dropped, the mask mandate ended early.

This is correct.

It's always up to localities always f...ing should have been

This was Trumps ultimate f up.  Was allowing Fauci and President CDC to Essentially impose this crap nationwide.

He could have and should have said "states and localities do what we've done always.....we'll see where the virus goes.  The important thing is people must trust the b.s. you're about to be fed for the next......indefinitely."

CDC’s Mask Guidance Will Backfire

National Review, by Editorial

Begin with one simple fact: The Delta variant of COVID-19 is more contagious than the original virus, but it is not more dangerous or likely to kill you. If you are vaccinated and are exposed to it, you may get infected. This infection is likely to be mild; occasionally vaccinated people get sick. These symptoms are usually mild, manageable, and pass within a day or two.

Biden's CDC starting to quote Trump's plans! Good luck with that.

I want to see the studies that she mentioned about vaccinated people transmitting. There has been very little evidence of that in credible studies.

The problem is the unvaccinated  adults ( not those with medical reasons)  who are screwing over the country.

How are they screwing over the country exactly?

#1) cdc crazy lady says even vax people can get and spread virus, just like unvaxed  people. So vaccine is more of a therapeutic I guess. People choose not to get vaccine just means they are refusing medicine to combat the effects of virus. So don’t really matter if you vaccinated or not.

Or

2) vaccines are really vaccines , and only people at risk are unvaccinated. Maybe harsh, but screw em, their choice to get sick and possible die. Same as any other reckless behavior.

By burdening  the hospital systems and causing mitigation again. All unnecessary with ample vaccine available . Some nurses have had enough and are retiring , going to another field or just dropping out for now.

Yea, the hospital systems were never over burdened in the first place. Show me where anyone died or was refused care due to any conditions at any hospital anywhere in the country outside of rural area that have 1 or 2 ICU beds and some folks needed to be transferred to larger hospitals.

So I ask again, are these shots really vaccines are are they therapeutics. In either case, the only people unvaxed people are screwing over are themselves. And I don’t really care a whole lot when people make stupid choices that affect them.

There is an agenda here that won't be made clear until the sheep in media and their voters start demanding justification.

It is solely because of those people that this is still on going as is.

Like the beginning of the pandemic with NY and NJ.

And I’ll say it again….RELAX. When people decide to get vaccinated, they’ll get vaccinated. It’s not complicated

I’m drinking bourbon on my deck. Pretty relaxed, although there’s a mighty storm whipping up off the ocean with tornado watch on so things could get fun here shortly.
