Trump started fighting this virus with more vigor than the WHO and much earlier. The WHO was still stating that the virus couldn't be passed between humans when Trump closed our borders for travel to and from China. Your bolded statement above is an outright lie. How or why would anyone believe anything that you post? You don't even link anything to your stupid speculation.

You're wasting your time with a person whose ONLY interest in this pandemic is to push false narratives so he can point and blame. It's his sole reason for posting here.

You'd have a deeper conversation with Q-tip at this point.

The WHO also was still criticizing him for cancelling flights from China nearly a week after he'd done so

Now, now. There is no time for facts when there is still time to push false stories to cast blame! After all, the country is eyeballs deep in a pandemic, and don't you agree that the first and only thing you should be doing is finding a Republican to blame?

The first reported case doesn't matter as much as stopping the further spread (ie Washington State)  Mass had an "exponential" growth rate heading into the weekend.

The site I use is Johns Hopkins.  Currently, both NY and MA are exponential, but NY's weekly growth  rate is less than MA's, which makes NY's doubling time about 3.3 days and MA''s just over 2.  However, the most recent (3/29) daily change was about the same for both states, but I wouldn't suggest that's a trend yet...

It’s very much under control. The stock market is looking very good to me!

Was that Matt Hasselback who said that?

Mr. Trump Reportedly Wants to Make Sure His Signature Is on the Coronavirus Stimulus Checks.   Why is that?

  • IF it is a direct Deposit .... no one will see a signature

Mr. Trump said while 100,000 is "a horrible number," if the U.S. can keep its death toll to "100,000, so we have between 100,000 and 200,000, we altogether have done a very good job."

In what reality would a death toll of 100,000 ever be considered  'a very good job'?

Even  worst case of 200K.   Nearly a quarter of a million deaths in the US of A is 'a very good job'?

Spain, France, Belgium, Italy, Germany, and the UK make up approximately the same population as the United States

They are, collectively, at 318,000 cases and 23,000 deaths, with a death rate (based on confirmed cases) of 7.23%

The United States is at 143,000 cases and 2, 572 deaths, with a death rate (based on confirmed cases) of 1.74%

Yeah, I think the US is doing a pretty good job right now

THIS IS JUST ONE OF MANY WAYS THE WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION HAS BEEN A PANTLOAD OF FAIL IN THIS CRISIS:

Why Taiwan has become a problem for WHO.

“Taiwan is seen as one of the few places in the world which has successfully stemmed the spread of the coronavirus without resorting to draconian measures. But despite its efforts, it is still effectively locked out of membership in the World Health Organization (WHO) due to its complex relationship with China.”

It’s not Taiwan’s relationship with China that’s the problem. Here and elsewhere, the problem is WHO’s relationship to China, which is basically a captive one.

How Bad Regulation, Bureaucracy Slowed The Fight Against Deadly Wuhan Coronavirus

Issues & Insights, by The Editorial Board

Original Article

Amid all the political name-calling and finger-pointing over who’s to blame and how to attack the Wuhan coronavirus, one thing surprisingly gets little mention at all: regulation. But bad regulation not only slowed our response, it likely added to our death count. We’re happy to note that in recent days and weeks, President Trump has helped ease the regulatory burden of our response to the coronavirus, pushing Health and Human Services, the Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control, our main health agencies, to bend, suspend and in some cases upend useless rules.

KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEF: Bloated Bureaucracy Is Going to Have a Coronavirus Body Count.

“Trump is basically in the position of an NFL quarterback who’s being blamed for two decades of management and franchise failures that preceded him.”

ADDED:

Apparently today's DNC phrase of the day, for some unfathomable reason is "Trump U. "     ?

Yeah, I think the US is doing a pretty good job right now

You likely know this but just in case.....those European countries are ahead of us as far as the breakout timeline.  It ramped up there much sooner

The death rate grows over a few percent after the local health systems are overwhelmed.  That has happened in Italy and Spain and has yet to happen in the USA.  When it does happen here, and it will in the hot spots soon, our death rates will rise considerably.

We have not done a very good job here.  Open your eyes.  Seeing those countries ahead of us should have jump started our preparations.  Instead, our leaders squandered that time worrying about appearances.  Now, it is too late in some areas and many will die who wouldn't have if we had used our preparation time more wisely.

I am well aware of the fact they are ahead of us. Whether or not, you want to admit it, the travel bans and measures put in place have contributed to the delay of the spread here. That delay has allowed us to take measures to increase to manufacturing of needed medical supplies, erection of temporary hospitals, and other steps neccessary to prevent our medical systems from being overwhelmed to the point you are seeing in other countries.

Why don't you quit complaining and pointing fingers. It isn't helpful to anyone.

Good Lord Bob, just give it up. You're a puppet with a pull string. You pull your own string and repeat the same BS every time.

I heard that by imbibing in pot one might temporarily gain false memories. Who closed down travelers to and from China when the WHO was still claiming coronavirus was not able to be transmitted from human to human? Who was first to exclude South Korea? Italy? Europe?

How do you know this?  I see this repeated as a truism in the media, but I’m not aware of any actual evidence to support it.  It’s more of a perception, really.  The US is a huge a diverse country and it’s impossible to accurately generalize about whether the country as a whole is behind some European countries or not.

In many states the rates of death and hospitalization are stable or even declining, and it is unlikely that their health care systems will ever be overwhelmed, an outcome you seem to assume is inevitable.
