Opening Night Confirmed GB v CHI, SNF Pats host

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Corta the schedule guy here and it's been officially confirmed Bears Packers are the opener Thursday night. Patriots will host SNF week 1 my guess is Cleveland but also Pittsburgh possible. NE media not happy but 100th season for Bears and 101st for Pack were important factors.

Nice.  At least the first real game won't include the Pats*.

Who care about NE media? Screw 'em! Let them frenzy over Bratty's ACL tear on opening weekend!

I understand being upset a little. Typically opening game is for previous SB champ which for 99% of everyone means its close to a once in a generation thing your team opens the season.

I think New England will host KC on Sunday night.  That looks like the best week 1 matchup to me.

Bear-Packers is exactly who I’d think of for a 100 year game.  Good choice and should be a good game

***** the Pats and their spoiled ass media and fanbase. Can't wait til they are a non-factor in the NFL again.

I hope the poor ratings of another rigged NE Super Bowl run played into the scheduling decision.

Doubtful more 100th anniversary. That said I think the NFL should consider changing the schedule where week 1 the years prior SB winner get a night game but not always opening night. Truthfully some years the SNF or MNF game has better matchups.

Even history and tradition are sick of these patsies!

i think that goes into a a prime Sunday afternoon spot a little later in the season. Week 1 draws great ratings no matter what, and i thnk they will save that game for a huge ratings pull iin the solo afternoon slot.

I don't know NE is coached up so well that facing them early with a very different Offense could be good.

Meanwhile the Buffalo media has remained silent,  knowing the Bills will be on SNF in November and December.

Just basing things on the ratings for last couple of Super Bowls nationally people don't want to tune in to see the Patriots like they used to. I'm much more inclined to watch Bears/Packers than the Pats.

Browns/Patriots would be a fun SNF opener.

Two orders of magnitude more fun than Bears-Packers...

You probably just have an AFC bias. Bears Packers is a great week 1 matchup.

nah..  Love me some Saints.

Mitch Trubisky vs Aaron Rodgers (assuming he can answer the bell on week 1) isn not compelling TV anymore.

That Browns team, though, has potential for ACTUAL excitement.

The Browns haven't shown that they are actual contenders yet. People are just projecting. The Bears, however, are an actual team on the rise that is contending. And obviously you can never count the Packers out because of Rodgers.

Really??  People aren't absolutely intrigued by the Browns??  They would rather see the mediocrity that the Packers have become as they battle another mediocre offense in Chicago?

No way....NE/Browns would crush the Bears/Packers in ratings.

Agree. I’ve seen enough prime time Bears/Packers games to last a lifetime. Both the Pats and Browns are far more interesting.
