That’s just draft analysts. I don’t think his stock has changed with actual teams.

The so called "insiders" say that teams think he is undersized and some are projecting him as an LB. Like I said it could be BS but the story on him has changed a lot. At the beginning of the season we were talking about the Bills drafting Oliver at 1 or 2 overall. Now we're talking about drafting him at 9.

Agreed. The whole sideline coat wearing spat thing hopefully is just enough to drop him to number 9

His combine interview is so good. He met with Bills today I think McD probably fell in love. Kid sounds like a nasty, aggressive football player who is most conducive to 3 technique and do whatever the coach asks.

It is. I would like to draft him though. If we have the ability to draft 2 WRs I would take him in the 5th.

This is why i would like to see Bills maneuver picks.

would like to see either 2TEs and or 2 Wrs or a combination to get 3 pass catchers from the draft.

both of these things can happen outside of the first round and still acquire starters.

right after  FA fixes the O line. : ) and gets a TE in FA as well.

Oliver intrigues me. I'm normally wary of players that see their stock suddenly rise after the season ends, but for Oliver the exact opposite happened. He was a lock to be a top 3 pick and I now I see mocks where he isn't even taken in the top half of the 1st round. What changed? His size? On tape he still looks like an elite pass rusher to me. Right now he would be my favorite pick at 9, but who knows maybe he'll go top 5 after all. A lot of BS flies around this time of year.

Expand

Yeah. It seems like Oliver was so highly touted going into the season that the collective football world starting scrutinizing his perceived flaws well before the normal vetting process. Not sure if any of this actually translates as each team will compile their own board and he could still go top 5. I'd be thrilled with Oliver at 9.

Other than Quinnen Williams, Oliver is my favorite player in this draft. If he should fall to 9, I'm sprinting to the podium! Those are the only two in this draft that absolutely scream Buffalo Bills to me.

That is definitely what happened. I always say not to overthink things. He’s a top 5 prospect but this draft is deep and he could be there at 9. Would be great.

Another thing to think about: Beane and McDermott come from the Panthers, who have historically NOT drafted receivers with their 1st pick. They have much more often used high picks on defensive linemen and offensive linemen. The Panthers seem to go by the "no #1 WR, but a collection of #2 receivers" (pun intended only if you want it to be) school of thought. Based on McDermott and Beane's recent comments, they seem to agree.

Something about a WR at 9 doesn't feel like it's in Beane/McDermott's wheelhouse.

At any rate, so much of the draft discussion is almost completely pointless until we see what free agency brings.

Because we need to build a o-line first. When the team is more solid then you can draft top ten wide receivers and tightends.Right now the Bills first priority should be to protect last years investment in our qb

His combine was actually more fascinating than it was a complete success

This graph is awesome. Those are some really glaring holes in his game. Kinda reminds me of that "Trouble with the Curve" movie.

Does anyone know if graphs like these are available for the other WRs?

Does he run good routes? Bucky Brooks said he was the biggest loser yesterday after looking sluggish in and out of breaks. Can a non ASU fan elaborate on this? He looks slow to me, I didn’t see the combine yesterday I’m just curious why Brooks was so down on him and guys are around here are so high.

Do a search on Twitter for N’Keal Harry and you’ll see. I get it most on the East Coast don’t get to see PAC 12 games, but this kid is the real deal. Thankfully some NFL scouts recognize how good this young man really is.

Concering. From the limited amount of him that I have watched that’s what I see. Slow.

If you’re so high on Harry what do you think about Butler? Seems you like the catch radius and speed, he is bigger, faster and has the wing span of a 7 footer.

Agreed! And just to kind of add to that, the offensive E-P system is really about complimentary routes. It's about guys doing their jobs. It really doesn't require a #1 guy. It requires the the QB to read things and find the open guy.

Butler has issues with drops. Thats the difference

I'm torn. I firmly believe that great WRs are expert route runners and he'd have to prove he could be one to draft him at #9.

This thread can be summed up as: "Fans enamored with player physiques confuse that with actual football skills."

If performance in the combine was the deciding factor, Mike Mamula and Bruce Campbell would be HOFers.

Pass on Metcalf.
