A Few Thoughts about the Dolphins Game, in no particular order

How can you be negative on Allen?  The int though his fault is bad coaching and playcalling.  There was over a minute and Miami had timeouts.  The first down play was garbage setting up the need to get a first down.  The whole second quarter was classic MvD/Daboll play with the lead.

Allen is dynamic and fun to watch.  Things to work on but has me excited for the first time in ages.

Obviously you're biased when you have to make a point of Foster's TD, when it had little to do with him and was a great pass by Josh.

Btw Darnold folded vs. NE and Mayfield not fairing well vs. Baltimore

Please, tell me where I’m being so negative on Allen?

I called out his INT and crap ability to throw the quick slant.  Other than that, all positives.

So again, be more specific

Excellent job Virgil, and thanks for doing this all year again.

Nothing I would argue with in your thoughts except, a few head scratcher throws aside, I thought Allen played his best game of the year.  He looked in control all the way.  Took throws that were there, ran at the right times, played a smart game.  Very impressive.

The player that jumped on that scumbag Kiko was 6x.  I did not see his whole number.  Still not sure what Mills did, but he did go in and mix it up.  Good response by the team there in general.  Kiko needs some serious discipline by the league.  Today was no aberration - he routinely throws cheap shots with no regard for possible injury, every game he plays.

I didn't see the same old Josh Allen. Short throws were the focus of the game today. He definitely played a lot better in the 2nd half, at halftime I thought it was a more disappointing performance. He ended up scoring 5 TDs and completing 65% of his passes. That isn't the usual Josh Allen. I guess it's hard to judge because the Dolphins didn't look like they cared.

Punting sucked too. Darr had a couple of ~30 yard punts with poor hangtime. How is that even possible for an NFL punter?

Do they still have the ‘Punt, Pass and Kick’ competitions I remember when I was young? The Bills need to host one, and sign the best 15 year old...just as valid as the ‘musical punters’ game they’ve had to play all year.

Allen got a little gassed after one of his long runs.

Didn’t have good footwork on his next pass (one of the slants you mentioned).

I can live with that, especially after that kind of effort.

Fatigue makes cowards of us all. (Vince Lombardi?)

Because you obsessed about the int, which while lousy was a result of the first down call being garbage and so conservative.

The Foster TD was not a great catch by him it was a perfect read and throw by Allen.

Yes a couple of bad slants, which he I hope will work on.  5 TDs is what I'd talk about & oh yes 97 yds rushing

For clarity. The same old Josh Allen is some great throws on a drive, a head scratching INT, some solid runs, and but overall 5 more completed passes away from saying he’s “arrived”

But like I said with my first line, as some can’t read, (not you) Josh has a pretty good day today.

I said “his int was a terrible decision” and literally nothing else about it.

Maybe look up the word “obsessed”

If we can get someone better then absolutely. He's certainly hasn't performed at a level where he is safe. I'm just liking that the team reacts to guys like Kiko. Just like in the Jags game the guys won't let themselves get pushed around especially in their own house.

He'd be the perfect swing tackle.  Don't be surprised if Mills is around for a few more years.

Lol. So the pick six was a result of the previous play being a run. ?

Virgil you have to understand unless you open with unqualified praise for josh allen you’re going to be marked for death by some here. No use in even engaging with them.

great write-up btw.

I knew you would get blasted for your fair analysis of Allen's performance. Just have to suck it up and call it like you see it.

The kid is an athletic marvel and I'm encouraged by much of what I saw from his this season. He's got a ways to go as a passer, but he seems to be a guy who's difficult to gauge because his strengths just might be enough to outweigh the weaknesses.

Very fun game to watch.

The way Allen played today is the way the Bills should build their offense. He is not a prolific passer and never will be Let him play like Jackson does for Baltimore. He may only be a couple year wonder but atleast he will be exciting.

He plays nothing like Jackson.

Jackson plays in a read option offense.

Yes,  they should have played to get in to fg position, but the first down play was saying "we want to go into the half up 14-7", which was typical McD.

As said a lousy read and pass, set up by the first down call.  Much like the Bills run run pass playcalling.

I think it was Sirles #74 that pounced on Alonso after the hit on Allen.

Regarding the pick 6 by Allen, I think it was a terrible play call and a terrible throw.  The Bills did not have good field position, only one timeout, about a minute to work with, and an injured kicker.   Should have run it couple times and gone into halftime with 14 - 7 lead imo.

Eh, I’m fairly used to it.  The exaggeration in both posts is annoying.

Allen is finding ways to win games while completing 50% of his passes on the season and having next to no support in the running game, questionable offensive line and young inexperienced receivers. If he is this good already with those circumstances wait till the surroundings get better and he is able to complete 58% of his passes. The kid is going to win a lot of games for us in the future. I'm not sure he'll ever need to completed 62%+ on the season to get us to the playoffs consistently. 60% would be nice and should be a goal. But honestly, even just 58-59% could mean 3 or 4 more wins on the season with his talent.
