Man....if only he was a better QB, this guy would be a dream come true. Love his passion & commitment, but he's playing EXACTLY like most thought he'd be playing given his career in HS, JUCO & College. Sad too, as he's just such a likable guy.

Man... If only we had given more consideration to the Oline and a veteran mentor or a better supporting cast to throw the ball to then perhaps Josh Allens learning process would take place with more success.

Judging a rookie with 5 starts under his belt that has always been thought of as a project from the day he was drafted is sad. Allen wins 2 of them and probably wins a 3rd If the opposition hadn't targeted his throwing arm IMO.

Most people had Allen going in the 1st round, some 1st overall...

I actually disagree. Everyone was up in arms about his accuracy. Overall, his accuracy has been acceptable. Most fans say they have patience but most don’t. He’s not a turnover machine and when given time he has produced. He’s played against some tough defenses out of the gate and for the majority of the games they’ve been competitive. Yes, he can get better at reading defenses, staying in the pocket but compared to the other rookies this year, he’s right there with them and that’s with a junk offense and a rookie OC. It’s a learning year in which there are going to be highs and lows! He has all the qualities and athleticism to continue improving.

Also no excuse for why it took them until week 6 to bring in a proper vet after they decided McCarron was not worth keeping when there was a 5th round pick on offer. Going with Allen and Peterman felt horribly like going with EJ and Tuel.

Right.......where else do you see an organization repeatedly make decisions like this?

This is exactly what I mean by power corrupting the ability to make sound decisions.

These men are hired and there are absolutely no football parameters that they have to work within.

I'm not saying every Marrone needs a Coughlin looking over his shoulder but when you hire nobodies who've never been NFL head coach or been an empowered GM there has to be some kind of reasonable editing feature within your organization.

But in a way.........isn't Pegula just like these guys?

He never owned an NFL team and was a casual fan even during their best years........ but he COULD have hired a czar as the league advised him to OR he could have at least studied up on the sins of Ralph enough to know how to identify a Levy/Jauron situation.

Some people are leaders and some people are followers. McDermott is a leader. Beane is to my mind a follower. That means your Head Coach probably has his hands where he shouldn't.

I think McDermott is a darn good football coach. But giving him a GM who seems basically subservient is not helping the organisation. I was originally quite happy to finally have a Head Coach and front office in lock step, but 18 months in I am starting to think McDermott maybe needs someone who will say no to him and tell him to focus on coaching the team.

Do you have any written evidence to back this opinion?

Derek Anderson may be traded for a fifth by Monday at this rate.

Starting QB for the Bills. It’s a sad state of affairs at one bills drive.

Last start Andersaon has was a couple

of years ago and he threw one pass that was an INT then he got benched.

I have had that done a few times when I donated blood.   They can double dip each visit

I'm curious .....   Who else here besides Mr. WEO and @Doc actually have a degree in medicine??

I've known these two dating back to the D&C Forums and I know they are not BS'ing

doc and I are ALWAYS BS'ing!

But yes, the old D&C forum was a pretty good spot, much smaller.  Posts would go on for paragraphs...deeper dives.

Lol.  Yeah you two were always fun to read.  And still are.

Bsing but medically I have learned to trust what you say.

The Matt Leinart back and forth was a classic.

Yeah I took a lump for Leinart.  Doc framed that "W"...

But thanks.  I learn much here as well.

Here you go, Sue:)

Sue made ONE mistake tryna get the fickle folk of TSW to do her homework for her and it snowballed.

Fortunately no one was killed......or should I say "suffered a grade 3 sprained neck".

McBeane's secret is to keep making obvious mistake after obvious mistake so that it's hard to dwell for too long on one.

Pasta salad was another in a long line of mistakes.

No, but I think I was perfectly clear that it is opinion.

My opinion is that Beane more than McDermott was the driving force making maneuvers and trading assets to get their future qb. There is no doubt that McDermott has a lot of influence in personnel decisions. But my sense is that these two men are in sync and work out where they want to go and how they will get there. I don't see that as a problem as much as a unity in thought and purpose.

There is no doubt that there isn't unanimity regarding personnel. That would be impossible. I just think that they have a good working relationship in which each party knows how to make accommodations.  I'm not bothered with how much authority McDermott seems to have. When you are rebuilding a team you are going to make a lot of player decisions. Not all of them are going to work out.

Indeed not all of them will work out. It isn't the punts in the dark I am so much bothered by. It is the shots that we already know are failures. Like keeping the worst Quarterback in NFL history as your backup that really cause me to second guess.

No respectable team in this league would have gone into the year with Peterman as a backup. We went in with him as a starter. It would be unbelievable if it wasnt so true.
