And this is why I got my own domain.  It's currently hosted on GMail...but I can transfer that in about a day to any other mail service I want, or set up my own.

I've got lots of my own domains... apparently, I enjoy the fees of owning random urls  :wallbash:  (the privacy fee is the cost that kills).

I used to have TomBradyIsAWhinyLittleBitch.com.

I should get that trademarked.

I've owned several over the years myself. I've found that nothing will make a band fall apart faster than getting it it's own domain name.

Website design is very important!

I know I'd vote to kick your ass to the curb if you dared to use the wrong background color on our band's website. You don't even want to know what would happen if you opted to use a color photo, instead of the trendy black-and-white photo, of the band on the main page!

WE NEED A COMPLETE AND TOTAL SHUTDOWN OF GOOGLE UNTIL WE CAN FIGURE OUT WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON THERE:

Google’s Anti-Harassment Training Identifies Failing To Use ‘They’ Pronouns As A ‘Problem.’

Related: Ex-Google exec ‘ran sex ring and paid thousands to “own” women and “share” them with pals’ wife claims.

But did he use the correct pronouns? That’s the real question here.

All the while pushing for 13 yr olds to be considered adults as far as social media is concerned.   I'm sure it was a coincidence.

"wherein criminal/predator status has been established by media reports..."

Well, that's a nice out, because we all know how accurate and non-accusatory the media is, especially if they have no evidence. Right?

I wonder if this is just a feel-good summit, or if anything will come of it?

(longer thread if anyone cares)

Foreshadowing of what's to come.  It's not really a Social Media Summit without the major social media actors.

Quote

A “Social Media Summit” at the White House this week will offer a platform for supporters of President Trump who say they face censorship by left-tilting Big Tech—and a preview of a likely theme in Mr. Trump’s re-election campaign.

Attendees include the Claremont Institute think tank, media company Prager University and the Media Research Center, a nonprofit critical of national news organizations. Also expected to attend are more familiar Washington conservatives, including the Heritage Foundation.

Not on the guest list: social-media giant Facebook Inc., which said it didn’t get an invitation. Twitter Inc. and Alphabet Inc., which owns YouTube and Google, also weren’t invited, according to people familiar with the situation.

Twitter down world wide -- just as the social media summit kicks off.

They're (likely) changing code, making updates to the site which will make any legal cases brought against them harder to prove.

it was a protest outage, a temper tantrum if you like. it is however back up now.

Missed the first 10 minutes, what did he drop?

He made comments on 44 wiretapping him (and his tweet about it -- saying, "turned out to be true, and so much more as you'll soon see"), and spoke about how he's going to be making a social media announcement today (unrelated to this summit)... and one more I'm forgetting at the moment that jumped out.
