Is Steve Tasker Peterman's agent?

After the Cleveland game Tasker said on the TV broadcast he favored Peterman to start opening day.

This whole week, all Tasker has been doing on his WGR show with Murphy is shill for Peterman.

He's talked up Peterman more than the guy's agent would if he had a radio show.

Another really dumb post!

Well on the contrary, all Murphys done is pimp Josh allen and talk about him like he's Brady. So I guess there's a balance.

Considering they're both employed by the Bills on a show that's a literal 2 hour paid advertisment by the Bills, you gotta take what they say with a grain of salt.

Now Tasker's agent chimes in.

Honestly, if EJ Manuel would have been able to sit behind Kolb for a year, I think he'd be our QB today.

The Buffalo Destroyers don't exist anymore for EJ to be our QB today.  EJ's been sitting for a few years now and nobody in the NFL would want him as their starter.  The ruined a QB stuff is absolute nonsense.

Honest question, how many QBs have actually succeeded after sitting and learning when they were a first round pick?

Only one I know of is Rodgers.

I'm sure it worked in the past but he's the last one I remember actually doing it.

Peterman's looked the best in the two preseason games thus far, yes Allen has more upside but I don't think McDermott wants to rush anything. Toss in if Peterman looks good we could always trade him for a high draft pick.

Steve McNair sat, I don't think we have to sit Allen as better see what he has now versus later.

Peterman experience v Allen experience is not much at all.......Peterman only had 4 quarters of live NFL action i believe.....the 1st 2 quarters obviously a complete disaster......play Allen.....

This is what I find the funniest. People talk about Peterman and McCarron like their seasoned starters. They’re not.

If it's between Peterman or Allen , I rather see Peterman just because he has the year experience.  Let Josh learn from the bench and don't get him killed the first year.  I worry about the "O" line letting that happen.

it's not like he gained anymore physical attributes in that year. his delivery is still iceberg slow and he was demoted to third-string last preseason game. i was not on the 'start allen game 1' train, but if AJ is unable to play, start allen game 1. you have nothing to lose, because Peterman's not getting you anywhere.

This is a good question. Like, what are you learning? Not the speed of the game. Not how to run an offense. You're getting lots of film and practice and situational stuff. Eventually you have to get out there and, ya know, throw the ball to people. Let's expedite that part.

Murphys been pretty annoying about Allen Imo. Super Homer about him and the bills. I get it, they're bills employees, but still.

I just think with this o line that having Peterman back there is a mistake. He's not as mobile as Josh so if (when) he gets under pressure, i'm afraid he'll have to rush his throws & throw more INT's or eat sacks. Nate has proved he can be accurate when he throws on rhythm & with anticipation. But when the line breaks down, I haven't seen him have much success. There's no guarantee Josh can do well in that scenario either. But he's looked extremely poised when the pocket collapses & he's shown he can escape pressure with his legs, all while looking downfield at the same time.

You factor in how its a tough choice between the 2 from how they've both played well & how he's the QB of the future & to me i think Allen is the easy choice.

For the "let Allen sit for the season and learn" crowd, since Peterman basically sat all last season, is he really that much better for it? Franshise material now? Naaahhh, why is Allen any different? Let the kid play he will either sink or swim. Enough of this sit and learn crap

Seriously?

With Dawkins now injured - I don't even want Allen starting in the Bengals game. Hell let McCarron get to finish his start with the 1st string. ?

Finding a franchise quarterback is not an easy task. Maybe, just maybe - we have found us one and some of you just want to toss him out to the wolves.

REALLY?

I don't think I could stand listening to a bunch of you for the next 20 years while we are waiting for our next "unicorn" to come along.

This is not a vote for NP but he's also been through an entire season of prep and had several teachable moments last year.  It seems that he's made the most of that so far this camp.  Coaches will get a good look at both NP and JA Sunday.

Maybe because Peterman has been the best QB on the field for us so far this season...

I personally think the guy will eventually be better than the likes of Kirk Cousins and a few other fringe talent QBs.  I just don't get all the hate towards him on this board.  Blah, blah, blah he threw 5 interceptions in a game....  who gives a flying FU3k.

Yeah, really.  Just focus on all the good he has done....

Defense wins Championships.

To win in the NFL you need to be able to run and stop the run.

You have to sit your rookie QB for a year.

Peterman has not been better than Allen.  Should have given up and easy pick six in the last game.  Not even including the Chargers game, he has thrown many balls that should have been picks.  His low velocity allows defenders to break on the ball more easily and this will lead to pick 6's.  The guy hit a wide open O'Leary on a 10 yard pass and O'Leary took it to the house, yet people are acting like he threw a touch pass over O'Leary's shoulder.  Sorry but he is not good.  He can manage a game here in there, but if you start Nate Peterman, you are going to have a rough year.

I haven't read every response in this thread, so forgive me if this has already been said...I agree with what you are saying in regards to Taskers' take on Peterman.  I also noticed, after the first preseason game, that Murphy was really adamant that he was all in on Allen starting week 1, verses Baltimore.  It seemed almost too contrived...if you have listened to the John Murphy Show/One Bills Live, you would expect Murphy to be the one saying "they should work Allen in slowly"...and Taskers' gushing over Peterman has been a little over the top...though, I do think Peterman has played pretty well...it just seemed that there has been a conscious attempt on that radio show, since Tasker joined, to help Murphy shake his "stick in the mud" persona, which really was pronounced when Donald Jones was the co-host.  Each of them having a different opinion on who should start, seems to be an attempt to create more "lively" discussions on the QB situation...which takes up about 86% of the shows content.  It would be pretty boring (or more boring some would argue) if they both agreed.
