It closed about 6 months ago, that part of Transit by the 90 ramp is getting kind of seedy.

do you know if another hotel is going up in its place? what kind of action went on there?

No idea on any development. As far as action, all I remember hearing was that the hotel was more or less out of date and kind of dirty. There isn't a whole lot by this hotel at this end of Transit, except Cracker Barrel and Bob Evans a little ways down, towards where Russel's is.

A car dealership bought a bunch of land right next to the thruway on transit. Probably this spot.

Where did you hear this? Genuine question.

Does anyone know if the restaurant next to Econoladge South near the stadium has reopened? We liked to stay there specifically because the Warehouse bar/restuarant next door provided a great place to catch the college games and have a few cocktails after the games and decent food. It was closed last year and I was hoping to see if anyone opened up something in that space. Any locals know anything  currently going on with this place?

From a tech at the audi dealership and from the owner of a competing dealer

This seems pretty reasonable. West Herr bought Schmitt's Audi and VM on Genesee (about 1.5 miles away). The dealership is tiny and in a really out of the way spot. Seeing them move to a more "prime" location makes a lot of sense. The Audi brand is really under-served in WNY.

That place was pretty cool.  I missed the Cracker Barrel being right out back, too.

There’s a little dive hotel literally right next to the stadium that I stay at. It’s a dump and they overcharge big time the weekend of the home games, but’s it’s awfully convenient if you like to have a few beers and not drive home after the games. I can’t even remember the name of it....

was it considered dirty before or after I'd been there? ?

That building was there as long as I can remember and I'm 61. It was original the Charter something and was a Microtel before becoming a  Clarion. It is in Lancaster. The town line is Transit.  The  owner  put it up for auction  and  no one bid the minimum.  It ended up getting reposted about 6 months ago.

For anyone coming in from out of town and staying at the budget hotels in the area around the Transit Rd exit of the 90, be advised that the ladies of the evening frequent these locations.  Reports show up regularly in the town police reports.  Where there are ho's, there are drugs and other crime.

It's fine now, that ring has been shut down since the late winter. One pimp from the city and a handful of young, trashy "girls" were arrested.Do you really think Russ would allow that type of activity to go on in his "front yard"....

You sure the prostitution problem has been cleaned up?  From the Lancaster PD...

Police Blotter 6/27/18 - 6/28/18

Officers arrested a 36 year old male on a Lancaster court warrant.

Detectives investigated a tip of possible prostitution activity at a Maple Drive motel. A 22 year old female from Lockport was taken into custody for an outstanding warrant. A search incident to arrest recovered 4 bags of heroin, a bag of crack cocaine and a smoking pipe from the subject's purse. She was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and criminal use of drug paraphernalia.

Officers responded to 6 motor vehicle accidents.

Patrols handled a complaint of a disturbance, and later a call of an unwanted guest, at an address on Fernwood Drive overnight.

Lancaster dispatch handled 12 requests for emergency medical services.

Patrols arrested a 23 year old male on Aurora Street on an outstanding warrant. The subject was turned over to Depew Police.

A 27 year old female driver from Cheektowaga was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation (A.U.O.) in the third degree after the vehicle she was driving was stopped by an officer on Walden Avenue.

Patrols were dispatched to a complaint of a disturbance on Carter Street overnight.
