Training Camp 2018 Dates

Recommended Posts

Hey everybody- I did a search on this topic and didn't see anything come up, so I wanted to create a topic, so as to hopefully centralize info about the 2018 Training Camp dates.

Has anyone heard anything about when these dates will be released, and if/when they will have a practice at New Era Field?

My friend and I live about 3 hours from SJF and around this time, we start to get antsy for the dates to be released, so we can start making hotel reservations. This year, we're hoping for a weekday morning practice, followed the next day by a practice at New Era Field. Last year's practice there was the first time I have ever been in the stadium, and I really hope they have another so we can go again.

On a side note, we will be sticking with our reliable Buffalo Brew Pub for wings, but also will be trying Bar Bill. We've done Duffs and Anchor in years past, too.

Mod edit: actual schedule now available later in thread!!!

A lot of WNY local media has Bar Bill wings rated very highly.  I cannot speak from experience but the amount of good press must bode well for the product.

......due to demand, it's getting to be hit or miss with many of the longstanding quality WNY wing institutes.

Understood and agreed.  Often depends who's the chef that day, found this a few years ago with a flagship establishment.

Does anyone have any idea when the schedule is typically released? We're 6 or 7 weeks away from them moving facilities out to Rochester, it has to be soon, in the next week or two, right?

I suggest you update the thread title to TC dates so we don’t get a duplicate thread.

I guess I'm not sure what you mean. The title of the thread literally is "Training Camp 2018 Dates".

I thought it was a question.  My bad.

Really? That's dedication. I can literally walk there and I've never been.

Not sure what's up with "theme days".

One theme day will be 'Vox Populi':  Only fans in attendance at SJF will vote by secret ballot as to who will start at QB on opening day.  256,519 votes for Peterman will implicate Russian hackers, bots, and trolls...and Burple Bull.

Can someone explain how/where you get tickets for ticketed practices?  (I thought historically the night practices were the ticketed ones - but doesn't seem to be the case)

Further details on ticketing information at St. John Fisher College as well as the open practice at New Era Field will be announced on a later date.

I don't have the exact details, just that in the past, they have been available at a couple locations in both Rochester and out in Buffalo, and Noco or Sunoco gas stations, at Wegmans, and at Verizon locations. Plus, likely in The Bills Store at 1BD.

Mike Rodak ESPN Staff Writer

Bills coach Sean McDermott said Thursday he doesn't anticipate changing the division of quarterback reps into the start of training camp. That means AJ McCarron and Nathan Peterman will likely continue sharing first-team reps, with Josh Allen mixing in with that group but otherwise leading the third-team offense.

So if you live out of town you would have to find someone to get them for you?  Is there a cost or are they free?  I guess I don't get the point of the tickets - I can see for night time practices where it might get filled to capacity - but for a practice at 8:30 in the morning?

Tickets are required for night and weekend practices only, just for what you said, overcrowding.  They are free, but can be a bit of a pain to get.  In the past, my wife has gotten some for us and I asked her to get extras for TBD people and either mailed them, or they met me somewhere for a handoff.  But we have no plans on going this year so she won't be getting any.

OK thanks.  I see now the non-night ticketed practices (@ 8:45, 2:15) are weekend so that makes sense now.

Helpful hint for those wanting multiple tickets.  I think the limit is 4 per person per visit where you pick them up.  So my wife took all the kids that were home with her and they went in individually and got 4 each.  Then went to another store and did the same. repeated as necessary for all tickets needed for all practices desired.  Yeah, we supplied a few out of town people for a few years :)

I have also found Bills Training Camp tickets available on Craigslist.

(Season Ticket holders dumping their free tickets)

Note: Those are usually "for $ale".

4 is the historical limit per person per location. Does anyone have a list of locations to obtain tickets?

What's the deal with the military night? I want in on that.

Concessions discounts to those with valid military ID if history proves correct.
