Chris Simms: "Cardinals were heart broken when Josh Allen went before they could trade up"

I know right?  Because that is what wins SuperBowls!

Just one small piece of a very talented pie. You and some others seem to think that Rosen is a slam dunk HOFer.   His flaws are well known and documented. Sounds like even the Cardinals wanted Allen but had to settle for a consolation prize. I would have been happy to have Rosen, also. However, we have Allen. His upside is enormous and, as you and I both know, most experts and prognosticators had him as a better prospect.

So what are you and the other Allen haters going to do now, root for him to fail?

Do you really see anyone "running him out of town"?

Just listen to the callers on the radio shows, its over the top ridiculous. Rants, tears and on and on. Its not a case of people booing him as soon as he steps on the field, its a case of calling for his benching the first time he throws an interception. There will be no patience at all when it comes to Allen and a virulently vocal part of the Bills fan base. Hope I'm wrong and people who were really excited about one of the other quarterbacks just need to vent their disappointment for a bit. No question that Allen has flaws and needs work but this is a time for optimism, for hope. Instead, most of what I am hearing are different versions of "we're doomed", "they blew it", "Allen sucks" and on and on.

Loved, loved their Christian Kirk pick last night. Don’t love their ol or overpayment of Bradford and Glennon. The fact they paid both of these guys makes me think they definitely didn’t have Rosen as plan A.

Why not Rosen, but Allen?

Is that Peterman?  ^_^

Context of play: it was 3rd and 10 and it's not like the bruins had an especially reliable kicker from long distance last year. They were down by 3 late in the game, and he was either trying to throw it out of bounds to save field position or expecting that his receiver at the top would read the blitz and cut off his route at the sticks (which is where he threw it). Either way, it's not as if he did the wrong thing. He got hit, and couldn't get enough oomph into it to get it out, and the receiver didn't adjust. It's not really what people are seeing, though. Rosen was great in that game and had the right idea there. The defense simply made a play, though - the blitzer timed it perfectly.

Yeah, I agree on Bradford and Glennon but at worst, they are good veteran mentors for Rosen. But your point is valid. I bet Rosen plays before he end of the season given Fragile Sam.

OK, fair enough - I don't listen to call-in radio shows.  I suppose I probably could (almost everything but the floor plans of my kid's college dorms are available on the interwebs) but you're not exactly making them sound enticing :D

I expect it would have been the same or worse if we drafted Rosen, and yes, I'm sure there will be people going over the top "he sucks" etc once he starts.

I seem to remember there was a vocal minority calling to bench Kelly in favor of Reich, back in the day.

I dont even care about the play but who the hell decided that both teams could wear their darks?  I took me watching it like 10 times to even figure out what the hell was going on.

The only way I could tell it was a TD was from the ref.

Last year, Allen was throwing to 2 sophomores and 3 freshmen. Not a single Wyoming running back, receiver or tight end was a starter the previous year. Let's see what he can do with a strong supporting cast before running him out of town?

Have to build that first

Yes but calling him to be benched for...whom?  Unless there's a better option on the team, there won't be many calls to bench him.

Rosen is considered ready to play right away and Allen needs a year or two. They payed Bradford 20 mill and Glennon behind him.

Rosen needing to sit isn't a big deal.  They have him for 5 years at least.  And like you said, he might end up starting soon given Bradford's fragility.  But what they did at the QB position in FA was dumb.

I know, we are all supposed to be mad or something....

And

I know...what sources does Chris Simms have..

But for those willing to be open minded, I encourage you to watch the first couple minutes of this video when they recap round 1.

And if you really want to feel good, go back and watch round 1 when they gush over both Bills picks and say the Bills killed the draft.

And some scrubs named Mayock, Kiper, McShay and Matt Miller (in the video above) all ranked Josh Allen as a top 10 player and a top 2 QB.

But what do they know, right?

If you are going to post a 4 hour video that starts with 10 minutes of dead time.  Maybe, just maybe, let us know what timestamp to start watching the relevant parts.

And their OL is bad (not that ours isn’t)

For those still missing the point. Two teams were both fighting for one guy and our team got the guy. And it's the position we are all desperate for.

It may not line up with your predraft rankings but all we can ask for is they get the guy they want. Let's see what happens

The Cards must have been pretty worried about the Dolphins taking Rosen if they traded up anyway.

Looks like they were hell bent on getting one of the top guys, and there was a lot of smoke around Miami wanting a QB
