bobobonators
I can see the Giants taking him. It simply makes too much sense. The Giants havent drafted in the top 5 since they drafted Rivers in 2004; before that 1996. A winning franchise like the Giants rarely ever drafts this high and now has a chance to reset for the next 15yrs by taking a blue chip QB simply by staying put. Eli plays one more season and Rosen starts in 2019. Edited March 18, 2018 by bobobonators 1
CuddyDark
Book on him is simplest of the top four. He's a good player. Not great. Negligible star potential. Most likely to have a long unassuming career. Matt Ryan/Phillip Rivers ceiling. That all his good stuff. His bad makes him a gamble. Not a leader. Won't carry team on his back. Might not be willing to go extra mile. Varied interest outside football. Flaky personality. Might be sulky. Willis McGhee lifestyle. And I can well imagine Beane and Gettleman having had a conversation where Gettlemen told him Rosen was their guy and, after thinking Darnold and Rosen are gone after 2, Beane and Co. just don’t see enough separation among the other top prospects to justify a big move. If the guy you want is gone, it’s not a bad idea to let the draft fall to you. The QB frenzy is going to result in several more highly ranked blue chip talent dropping down, after all.

For the guys who say move up at any cost they seldom are willing to show their cards on that because they don't want to be called out if it all turns to crud. It's easier to criticize others than take a stand and deal with it when it does not work out.

Turk71
I saw Rosen play a lot in college and 10 minutes ago, 26CornerBlitz said: Pro ready from day 1. Would love to see him in Red, White, and Blue. If he starts from day 1, I could easily see him getting injured. He needs to hit the weight room more. I also wonder why he didn't put up better numbers in college. His passer rating the last three years ranked 31, 47, and 61 out of 125 qbs. Not too impressive for a guy some people want to mortgage the future for. I think he looks the part with his mechanics, footwork, etc., but he has never impressed me as a football player. I think he lacks heart, will, and commitment to be the best. I think he could just as easily get paid and walk away as become a successful pro. No way would I give away the draft to take a chance on this guy. I would be shocked if QBs don't go 1-3 (potentially even 1-4). The Giants are going to grab this kid, groom him for a year, then kick Eli out of town.
