Why do we still not have cap numbers for Star?

Recommended Posts

No conspiracy theories or anything, but it really is very curious as to why his numbers aren't out there yet. It seems pretty common place for numbers to Leak out within minutes of someone signing, so we are we so far removed from landing a big FA without having his numbers? It's just strange at this point.

Agreed. It is very weird, especially because they released all of the other numbers.

I find this strange as well. I am actually excited about this pick up. I think he will have a huge impact on our Defense.

Agreed.  However we haven't in my eyes overpaid for anybody so far in Free Agency.  With that being said I would be shocked if when the numbers do come in we will be unhappy.  I believe we are going to see the real Star shine this year.

Numbers are probably low and the agent doesn't want to lower the market. If it were a big contract I think they would have released the numbers.

The bills don't release contract numbers or at least they didn't for a long time. So I feel it's the agents doing.

Never thought of this...nice point.

Hope you're right. I'd hate to think its because their embarrassed they overpaid for 1 dimensional DT.

if this was the case his agent would of tweeted his major score seconds after the ink dried

I agree it’s not typical that the numbers aren’t out yet. But I’m unsure why so many people are worried about whether the Bills “overpaid.” Anyone signed on the 1st day of FA looks “overpaid” ... the cap keeps going up and the FA class isn’t spectacular this year so  there are a lot of eyebrow raising contracts. Each player has a certain value to the team that signs him. Why the angst?

I tend to agree somewhat, but I don't think Lotulelei would've signed a 5-year deal if it was that big of a discount.  Unless it's got some crazy 1 or 2 year void clauses or something.

But I'll be very surprised if it's a huge, market-setting deal, because if it was, you'd think his agent would've leaked it right away.

I am guessing right around 8.5M a year

It's a good thing you're asking this question, OP. The whole thread dedicated to this didn't once ask about his contract numbers.

Doctors recommend cutting down salt intake to maintain a healthy blood pressure. This post, then, is not physician approved.

They remember when bread was a nickel and forget about the ever rising cap and inflation.
