zonabb Posted January 4, 2018 Share Posted January 4, 2018 If you look at all possible geographies were a stadium could go and begin reducing the number of potential properties by constraints (sewer and water availability, highway access since far off the highway on two lane roads won't work, environmental constraints like floodplains, wetlands, and so on), you'll arrive at a very small number of potential locations where a stadium will work, regardless of transactions/ownership transfers. Why would Kim and Terry keep putting money into Canalside and buying property around the KBC if the stadium will not eventually be somewhere in the area? That's the question I asked myself this past weekend looking out the casino side from the 19th floor of the Hotel and seeing vast amounts of developable property........There is not enough business activity in Buffalo to fill this space with mixed-use or pure office space -- the stadium and KBC can be the focal points of destination based mixed use with 100+ event nights/days a year. I have seen this happen locally in Durham where a baseball stadium and a performing arts center and a family named the Goodmon's have changed the face of decaying urban center. DD -- thanks for the entertainment. If you looked at this thread as nothing but a source of laughs it was one of the more entertaining threads in TBD history. Sadly, like MASH, Friends and Seinfeld it must (in this case thankfully) end....
