Fadingpain
Yeah, I don't think the "he literally didn't block me" play is a function of an OL choosing to let his QB get hammered. Rather, it is a function of an OL sucking ass and being completely whiffed on that play. I think Bosa's choice of words is strange relative to the play though. It's NOT like Mills didn't TRY to block him...he just sucks. A more accurate comment from Bosa would have been something like "I'm too fast for Mills; he can't keep up with me" or something like that. IMO this is almost the worst possible combination. Wood and Groy seem (since they both just signed this training camp and offseason) to be the only two sure O lineman on the team next year . You would think the HC has plan to play them together at some point OR never? I get that Groy is very valuable as a backup being that he is 2nd man up in all 3 interior positions, and that's huge when it comes to a 53 but something has to give

It's not that he kind of didn't block him, he was totally set in the wrong place. Wrong protection called, or wrong adjustment to a different protection due to D shift right before the snap. Don't attribute to malice what's adequately explained by incompetence. The "something rotten" here is two OLmen either getting the protection wrong, or not getting their role in the protection. Because it's pretty clear it's not that they aren't executing, it's that they're in the wrong place doing the wrong thing to be able to execute. Idk, man. The way Tyrod was running around with his helmet on, it seems like he might have known what was up. I mean, Peterman was not even finished dropping back when some of these guys were let in. Sure it happened to Tyrod, but not on every play.

That was 3rd and goal from the 7 and instead of a successful pass play to get us closer or score we took a sack and it was then 4th and goal from almost the 20. We were down by 6 so we would have won. If the refs hadn't screwed us in the first half, and Carpenter missed, we could have kicked a field goal and gone into overtime also.
