There stats may be similar but they in no way ARE EQUAL PROFESSIONAL QUARTERBACKS. Smith has learned all the QB nuances throughout the years and has the pedigree. when it comes to being a PRO QUARTERBACK Alex Smith is way ahead of TT in running an offense If we had Alex Smith we are a top 4-5 team in the AFC Going to the last play, I do believe TT threw it well enough and it should've been caught Alex Smith is also a former #1 overall pick who has been a starter for almost his entire NFL career, not to defend TT here, but its not a straight comparrison Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Give me one example where a WR blamed the QB for a bad throw...it doesn't happen. He does and it creates major issues between teammates and coaches. If Jones runs more vertical route that is a TD. Even if he turned the same way - if he was running for the pylon/EZ, the ball would have been in a place where it was far more easily caught. Instead he started to run to the 5 yd marker. If the ball was thrown towards the sideline to the outside shoulder with the route he was running, the CB coming off Shady would have most likely knocked it down or intercepted it. I am shocked there are people saying Zay would have had to make a circus catch to haul this in... This a pass that hit his hands. It is a pretty routine catch by NFL standards. Most QBs aren't throwing dimes 40 yards downfield, the receiver has to make the right play on the ball. He also had another drop earlier in the game, I believe that was on 3rd down. I mean it's one game and shouldn't have come down to that so I'm not gonna pile on Zay too bad. Just can't understand why everyone is piling on Tyrod. Was behind him, he had to twist his body around while his momentum was taking him the other way. Yeah that's Zays fault tyrod missed an open throw. That's exactly my thought too. I've felt that for years already... As I know you have... and it wasn't necessarily the best throw... but it was 100% catchable... it's not about blaming anybody either... that's toxic The Bills must move on and keep playing ball. I think it's more that any professional NFL WR knows that when the football hits him in the hands, he's supposed to catch it regardless of which shoulder it's over etc. What would it say about him if he said the pass was too hard to catch (it wasn't)? Doesn't even have to be an elite WR, an NFL WR should be expected to catch a ball that hits them in their hands, whether it was a bad through or not. It wasn't a great throw, but not every throw will be, and sometimes NFL WRs are expected to make a catch on bad throws to help out their QB. No one (ok maybe a few) is saying that the drop excuses the offenses previous 59+ minutes of play, or that he "cost us the game", or that he should be cut immediately, but it was a play you should expect your WR to make in a game if you want to be a playoff team.
