YoloinOhio
...When they got to their new teams. I thought that was interesting. I wonder if our coaches told them that and/or they didn't follow the new program? Just thought it was a weird comment for them both to make. WGR mentioned this yesterday - not sure on links. Will look. Edited August 15, 2017 by YoloinOhio

Or they weren't buying in and weren't working as hard in practice as they should have been. Either of them could be reasons why they were traded. JohnBonhamRocks
For citation purposes, this was said yesterday on WGR and I think they mentioned the LA Times for Watkins' quote. Not sure for Darby, but assuming the Philadelphia Inquirer.
YoloinOhio
They mentioned the Darby comment on radio yesterday but I can't find a link to it. I did hear Sammy say it on Saturday.

dave mcbride
I took "better shape" to mean "better football shape," which is a whole different thing. Watkins is cut like a greek god at present, but in terms of on-field reps and hitting, I can see him being a little behind.

CommonCents
Watkins looked shredded in all the captures I saw of him in camp and that preseason game.
Billzgobowlin
Watkins has been injured so much and Darby by what Peter King said didn't buy in so maybe that is starting to sink in with a different team.

BarleyNY
could be approach to trying to prevent injuries (stretching, etc) Maybe. Still, it is odd to hear - especially from both. McD sure doesn't seem like a guy who'd let players slide on being out of shape.

outsidethebox
I think with Sammy having a foot injury, he probably wasn't able to get his roadwork in and needs to get his stamina back. No clue why Darby would say that. Unless he too was dealing with a injury we didn't know about that limited his practicing.

87168
I think it's in reference to strength and conditioning. which would explain why the Bills' offense was always so flat after the half. Â I know people on this board have questioned the Bills' strength and conditioning due to their late game performance.
