Today I Learned....PartII

Recommended Posts

I learned to check the details for shipping much better....especially where its coming from.

I ordered an probiotic that I saw on Ebay that I use on a regular basis.  I ordered it because it was a real steal of a deal.  It's been a couple of days and checked on the shipping status.  It's not coming until November 3rd.  My shipping is going to take 5 months.....from China.

Crap....probiotic.  That's much different.

I'll edit.

It's a product you can buy on pretty much at any pharmacy but I ordered this on Ebay because it was 50% off with free shipping.

that's much different, but still gross.  i love ebay, but i'm not willing to put anything in my body that i get from there.  at least not orally.

You're probably right....I have time in the next 5 months to cancel the order.  It probably has tape worms and rotten ginseng in it.

When does your order of suppository multivitamins come from Thailand?

Not sure if the vitamins from Thailand actually work, but he love “The Process”.

And that's why several of my former co-workers could not work in Canada.

one son of a rich family i know from Canada crossed over in the prairies to the US to shave some time off, customs didn't like him and held him for a hours

he admitted smoking a doobie 10 years earlier and was banned for life from the US

took the family $100,000 and 6 years of work with our government to get him access again.

one lunatic in my life keep bragging about the supplements he was importing, he was in his early 70s (and nobody would guess otherwise) but insisted it was like he was 30

he had some kind of ADD thing and was a total pain

he would never share or give us info, i figured it was meth, he was a former narc so he would have had supplies readily present

Interesting word play... I find it neat.

Redundant words when they duplicate themselve, through different languages, etc... Few examples that come to mind:

"Pleonasm" and "tautological" places:

ATM Machine = Automatic Teller Machine Machine

Naan Bread = Bread Bread

La Brea Tarpits = The Tar Tar pits

Lake Michigan = Lake Big Lake

Chai Tea = Tea tea

Gobi Desert = Desert Desert

Lake Tahoe = Lake Lake

Laguna Lake = Lake Lake

Redundant place names:

Good story.    I had never heard of this before.  Surprised it is not a movie.

Read that last night too. I was surprised I had no recollection until later in the article.

Great Article.

I had no recollection of this either until I reached the end of the article and realized why. The timing of the trial was amazing and the quote about the FBI agents surveiling McDonalds winners instead of terrorists was a bit odd and a head scratcher. It all happened during the Clinton administration so nothing would surprise me.
