Steve Christie Calling out Bills FO

Recommended Posts

Read his FB post and tell me that is not a call out of the FO.

I forgot that the FO can do no wrong with you. Maybe you might want to look at my Whaley Posts and see where I am so fast to call him out.

As where the FO only does bad things with you.

If my predecessor showed up to stage and offered to give me pointers on how to light our sets, I would tell him, in no uncertain terms, to GTFO.

And if he decided to then announce "For the record, I tried to help Rocky Landing" on Facebook right after you were fired it would suggest that he is a self serving douche who likes to yell LAMP.

I'd like to wish the very best to Dan Carpenter and his future endeavors. It's not easy kicking in Buffalo! For the record, I did offer to help him, but was told by the GM that he wouldn't be receptive to outsiders. You would think after kicking there for nine years, l wouldn't be considered an outsider. But rather an experienced resource that was available to coach a fellow specialist in a time of need.

Why does everybody keep on saying they dont know if Doug said this or Dan. Christie clearly says the GM in his post

Really do they, nah they really don't I have praised a lot that they do.

So far this offseason they have made two questionable moves IMO and I will talk about them

It's the "he" that folks are questioning. Is the "he" Whaley or Carp?

Do no wrong? The FO can certainly do wrong. We don't even know why, when, or how Whaley rejected Christie though, and it is well within Whaley's job description to make such a decision. Like others have said, "who knows, maybe Whaley asked Carpenter and Carpenter said "shove it""

Obviously I can't prove it, but I certainly believe had the reverse scenario occurred, there would be a number of media articles saying Whaley was "grasping for help at the struggling kicking position", and throwing in some insult like "Whaley looks lost with the roster at times" with the Buffalo News. And then posters (maybe not you) would be on Whaley's case about how he is lost in his job.

The media agenda against Whaley is pretty clear. If they cared at all about the facts of the story rather than taking shots at Whaley, they would determine the "why, when, and how" before publishing a story that Whaley "spurned Christie".

The point is that no one knows if Whaley talked with Carpenter, and Carpenter said "forget that, I know how to do my job" or that Whaley was already going to cut him and shouldn't let Christie dictate roster decisions.

Look, I love Christie. There may never be a better kicker in my lifetime.

But at the end of the day, Carp was getting a decent amount of money for the position he was in. And two years ago I cheered that deal.

But that was before the XP changes, and that happened to be in his danger zone. He really regressed the last two years. In 2014 he was clutch. In 2016, he choked in the biggest moments. The Seahawks and Phins came come to mind immediately but there were a lot of missed kicks.

Maybe the Bills could have gotten a way to work him through the funk, but for the cap space he was getting, we can get a 6th round pick and let the coaches work on that guy.

I personally dont have a problem with this. I mean we hire coaches for a reason. By bringing in someone else we undermine the coach. Kickers are head cases imo. And Carp lost his edge.

I agree with this completely. He had a ST coach trying to help him. If Christie gave same advice as coach there would be no benefit- if he gave conflicting advice there likely would have been harm

Hahaha you take this and pretend like it is real or even relevant. That is how pathetic you are.

Christie played in a different "Era" literally.

The big video and scoreboards, corner clubs, the restrooms towers, flags, Global warming. All those likely changed the wind patters in the stadium since Christie was killing it.

Christie could have contacted Carp and worked on what ever he wanted whenever he felt like it, so stop with the crying. You just look silly. Christie post is knocking Carp for not being receptive to Christie. There is no proof that Whaley was lying to him.

Well, the parking is better in this Whaley sucks/ Carp thread than the other one. But the comment above should get an award. Since "Global warming" has been affecting many kickers games for years now. The silent career killer.

ehhh....get your point, kinda, but Kelly would be different than Christie. Not even in the same league as Kelly/Thomas in terms of "accomplished alumni." When is the last time Steve Christie was seen at training camp or on the sidelines?

Didn't I just read where Christie is the Bills all-time leading scorer and all-time field-goal kicker? I would rank that up there as an "accomplished alumni".

More like pre, pre, pre, pre, predecessor.

Umm. I read it. I quoted it. I pointed out how you are interpreting it to mean Whaley didn't want outside help, when Christie could have very well meant Carpenter didn't want outside help.

If Christie meant Carpenter didn't want outside help, how is that throwing the FO under the bus?
