The only Mahomes thread you need

Mahomes is the QB I want. He is not a long term project like Cardale but Mahomes shouldn't have to start right away. Sign a veteran and don't play Mahomes until coaches feel he is ready. If Bills are out of playoff race early Mahomes could get some snaps at the end of his first year.

Bullls_t!

-If this is the guy that's going to supplant Tom Brady, START HIM RIGHT AWAY... #playing=grooming.

Funny when people think b.c a coach was on a team with one QB he probably wants another one like him. Like when Marrone was hired and people thought he wanted Nassib...

the Bills met with Dak 5 times per sources. He was their guy last year. They didn't pull the trigger fast enough. They must be sick about it. I don't think they will make that mistake again.

That is the Bills Mo though... Never pulling the trigger fast enough. They wanted Wilson... Drafted before them, they wanted Dak... Drafted before them. If the Bills want to be smart maybe draft the QB a round before you project him if you really like him.

Another spread QB that will take at least 3 years to develop IF he even can make the transition...

the college game is RUINING these QB's....

Quarterbacking has never been as bad as it is coming out of college and getting worse every year.

No fundamentals. No ability to read a defense. No ability to make line calls. No ability to change protections. No concept of what an NFL offense is about...

Wanted Roetheslesberger too...weern't willing to give up enough and let Pittsburgh leapfrog them for him...

Except for Dak, Wentz, Winston, Mariota, Cousins, Luck, Cam, Carr, and Wilson

That's 7 viable NFL caliber QB's in how many years? I definitely wouldn't put Wentz anywhere near that list yet....his season was far closer to EJ Manuel's rookie year when you look at the entire season instead of just the first 4 games before DC's had any tendencies and game film on him...Wentz spent most of the last 12 games looking dreadful...

For a change we need to get it right at quarterback. I think TT and EJ will be gone, which will help on the cap side. If we can shore up some things, such as safety, by free agency, and resign some key guys (not Goodwin, which will also help cap-wise), I'm not necessarily against drafting two quarterbacks to really increase our chances for success. Let the three young guys fight it out and perhaps even bring in a vet like McCown for camp purposes if nothing else. Drafting two is not unprecedented and worked for the Redskins (granted Griffin was a no brainer, but Cousins was considered a project and he certainly developed). Trade down a bit and obtain an extra second round pick. That will help. Yes, drafting QBs is always a gamble but let's consider increasing our odds at the "casino."

Big fat NO to McCown... He'll light it up in TC, -Catch Whaley's eye, and the BAM! -He's our starter in Sept... -We'll be 4th place in the division by Halloween ...Sorry... Been there... -F__ that...

just say no to air raid

Way too simplistic of a viewpoint when evaluating college to NFL. Need to look at each player individually.

Pat Mahomes is more than an air raid QB

Dak was a "spread" QB... you can generalize everyone into buckets based on college system if you want because you are a fan and not the one pulling the trigger ...but actual evaluation looks at each player individually and how they will transition. You can wait for a Michigan or USC or MSU QB if you want that ran a pro style offense, but it won't necessarily transition any more quickly. Most colleges run some version of the spread.

where are the "pro style" QBs that were in the draft In the last 5 years, for comparison? Edited by YoloinOhio

I'm not saying you're wrong, but there were at least 3 guys (Smith, Nassib, and Manuel) with 1st round projections, IIRC. I see a group of prospects being over rated due to positional need.

Combined with an exceptionally strong year for safeties. There are some pro bowlers there to be had.

Hooker will drop to us and we'll get a great wr in the 2nd. Then get the best college kicker in the nation and I don't care what else happens we win 3 more games right there

There are so few of them left it's like looking for a needle in a hay stack

7 in 5 years is bad?

When it's also producing close to zero competent backups I'd say so...how many teams would be able to even go 6-10 if they had to have their backups start?

It's QB fever season, when mid-draft jamokes start looking like hall of famers. Keep in mind that agents are working overtime to fluff their clients draft prospects. That's where the "so-and-so's draft stock is soaring" stories come from.

What about the videos all over the World Wide Web that show these qb's making the throws Taylor can't ?

Were those doctored by the agents too ? Another sad attempt by another Taylor superfan to discredit any upgrade/competition.

127 and 156. Ooooooooh weeeeeee !
