Best defensive player on the team with a 100M contract who was arrested in 2014 for possession, now on his second suspension, has crashed his car into a restaurant, and benched by a previous HC. Nice attempt at deflection. The guy's had a myriad of personal tragedies and for that he should be commended on handling it in stride. He's just not improving off the field, which hampers his on the field production. zero attempt at deflection you're the one that listed the man's transgressions. a pattern of behavior that predates rex significantly. you also failed to mention the suspicious party he attended when he was a senior in college, six years before rex took over as head coach of the bills. so, while i may have whiffed at injecting some levity into this (cosmically) meaningless situation, the attempts at pinning marcel's history of poor decisions on the current head coach is !@#$ing laughable. i doubt more than two or three members of to this board can begin to fathom what the man has been through in his life. he has experienced repeated trauma and as a predictable consequence he struggles with maturity and decision making. it has virtually nothing to do with rex !@#$ing ryan Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

May: 1st round pick Shaq Lawson, whose shoulder removed him from other teams' boards suffers a shoulder injury during a non-contact drill. He undergoes surgery and will not be able to play until Week 8. 2. May: The same day Lawson's injury is announced, it is revealed Sammy Watkins had foot surgery a month previous and is uncertain for training camp. 3. May: The Bills media policy is made known and widely panned for preventing any record of what players do in practice. Later, the policy is walked back. 4. May: GM Doug Whaley tells WGR 550 radio that football is "a violent game that I personally don't think humans are supposed to play." The team is forced to issue a clarification the following day. 5. July: Karlos Williams shows up 20+ pounds overweight and later is suspended 4 games for a violation of the league's substance abuse policy. 6. July: Jonathan Williams, a 2016 5th round pick is arrested for DWI in Arkansas. 7. July: Manny Lawson is injured while working out and misses the beginning of training camp. 8. August: Reggie Ragland, a 2nd round pick the team depended on as an immediate starter, suffers a knee injury and will miss the 2016 season. 9. August: Cordy Glenn suffers a high ankle sprain and will miss the entire pre-season. Expected to be available for week 1. 10. August: Manny Lawson is suspended 1 game for a violation of the league's domestic violence policy. 11. August: Marcell Dareus suspended 4 games for a violation of the league's substance abuse policy. I didn't include McCoy's fight with off-duty cops in Philadelphia, but considered it (EDIT:) because he was not charged. Whaley is a top 5 GM. You have to consider 2009, when we fired our OC a week before the season, or who could forget 2014, when the brass finally realized we had no QB a few days before the first game. yea, 2009 when Jauron fired Turk Schonert and then promoted AVP from QB coach to OC. It was like the blind leading the blind leading the blind....all towards a cliff in running that Mike Martz deep passing attack with a WC QB. Let's not forget that Jauron had decided the team would run the "hurry up" / no huddle offense in the offseason and when the RT couldn't get to the line fast enough during pre-season to run it effectively. Jauron then outright cut the starting RT with the season about to start. Not to mention that the team scrapped that "hurry up" / no huddle offense after two weeks in the regular season. This was the same year the team thought Demetress Bell would be an adequate LT (a 7th round pick) and Kirk Chambers would be good at RT (a Cleveland Brown 6th round pick)! If I didn't know better it sure looked like Dick Jauron submarined his own team in order to get fired in Buffalo. Is it any wonder why JP and Trent Edwards failed after being coached by jamokes year after year. The good news is at least now the Bills have a legit NFL OC to coach the offense and young QB's. Partially correct. The Bills offensive line shuffling started with releasing Dockery who had signed the richest OG contract in the NFL just 2 years before. One Bills Drive filed the paperwork late and wound up owing Dockery a multi-million dollar bonus before cutting him in a rare instance of severance pay in the NFL. Then they traded LT Jason Peters to the Eagles, who I understand went on to have a nice little career for himself. They moved starting RT Langston Walker from right to the left side to fill the hole left by Peters. Then they cut Walker and promoted Demetrius Bell to play LT who would later find out his name is actually Demetress. It was an offseason to remember.
