oh hell yeah. If they feel Cundiff can do both, he's gone.

As far as Thigpen, it seemed like all he would do this year is dance around looking for an opening and get tackled with minimal gain, rather than head straight down field trying to hit a seam.

You'd dance around as well if you had so few blockers.

Writing on the wall for Carpenter?

Not necessarily. This will give him a chance to get healthy.

Won't miss Thigpen. How many catches inside the 10-20 did he make. High school players know better. Carpenter was great until he got hurt. Let us but blame where it belongs Rex! You have lost control and these changes don't cover up our real problems. McCoy snowed us. Had all this PR bull and here we are 2 and 2. I really am not surprised at all. McCoy, Watkins, Harty, Woods and the 200m D line were going to bring us wins. Hasn't happened. Nice truck Rex.

@JonTWCNews

Billy Cundiff says he's been brought to #Bills for kick-offs. Earlier Rex praised Jordan Gay for his KO ability. Something doesn't add up

I have to believe Cundiff is main kickoff guy, and backup place kicker, if Carpenter proves to be unreliable/hurt. Maybe they could sit Dan for a game or two, or something.

Not sure... I mean, was Gay really that bad of a kicker? Cundiff kinda sucks... O.o

He caught multiple punts inside the 10, I was really confused and kinda angry about it.

The only appropriate reaction to this post is :lol:

As I mentioned earlier, I love Rex, but I do not understand the way he is treating DC.

Kickers are like goalies and pitchers. Playing head games with them is more likely to be counter productive.

Ryan raises the ante on Bills kicker position

The signing of veteran K Billy Cundiff cost kickoff specialist Jordan Gay his job, but his presence on Buffalo's roster likely goes further than that.

There's also the fact that you can't read into short-term data for kicking. It's notoriously unreliable, especially because kicks are (pretty much) discrete and independent events.

Imagine if a baseball team replaced a solid veteran because of a couple bad strikeouts.

Ryan's treatment of Carpenter is puzzling and contemptible. If Cundiff has been brought in for kick-offs and as relief for a couple of weeks to give Carpenter a chance to heal, that's great, but then Ryan should just stop his subtle digs at DC. If they think Cundiff is better than Carpenter, even the 2015 so far Carpenter, this FO is simply delusional.

As for Moore, two things: (1) bringing him could be simply a case of disillusionment with Thigpen, or it could be a sign that Sammy's injury is worse than has been disclosed, (2) the low percentage of catchable throws his way suggests that he is not a good route-runner and he is ending up somewhere other than where he was supposed to be.
