Bills Sign K Billy Cundiff & WR Denarius Moore; Cundiff Cut

Recommended Posts

Dan Carpenter isn't getting cut. Cundiff is here until the leg is 100% healthy. A kicker who's kicking with a bad leg is never going to get healthy.

With the absolutely terrible kicking situation league wide this year, Cundiff gets a great opportunity to show what he's got for other teams.

@JoeBuscaglia: #Bills HC Rex Ryan: WRs coach Sanjay Lal had him in Oakland. He's been trying to get him for 3 years.

@JoeBuscaglia: #Bills HC Rex Ryan: This move had nothing to do with Jordan. It's hard to carry a kickoff specialist in this league.

@viccarucci: Rex on roster moves: "Billy (Cundiff) has a strong leg so he can handle KOs. We'll see how everything plays out."

@viccarucci: Rex says it's a "possibility" that only one K is on the roster by the end of the week, Cundiff or Carpenter.

No one cares about kickers. Let's not give Carp the Freddie treatment.

When will this leg heal btw ? He's been shaky for months now.

He's 2 of 3 on 50+ yard kicks, and preseason doesn't count. Cundiff is 8 for 30 lifetime on 50+ yard kicks. Moreover, he choked on the biggest stage of all, costing the Ravens the game against the Pats in the AFC championship game.

Cundiffs body of work is garbage. I am starting to hate rex with how he is dealing with Carpenter.

I think Cundiff is mostly until Carpenter gets healthy to be a second field goal option, and it is much less than 50/50 that Carp is the one released.

But that said, kicker confidence is always a big thing, both for them and for the team around them. If Carpenter doesn't get back to being clutch once fully healthy, and Cundiff does well in his opportunities, I can see a surprise happening.

Gross. Releasing Carpenter in favor of Cundiff is such a pathetic, reactionary move.

"On the roster" does not necessarily mean released...Carpenter could end up on IR-DTR if they think his injury is serious enough to linger. We'd then get him back by Week 13.
