Freddie's Dead
Based on his somewhat questionable performance the last two weeks, I'd say Gay. Horrible kicks in Denver, brutal onsides attempt and one out of bounds (?) against the Pack. Dan the Man can handle it for one week. We need all the extra DB's we can get, and I think Frank the Tank is scratched again. Any other candidates? stevestojan
Has to be Gay. Dan "Jesus was a" Carpenter can kick off just as poorly as our kickoff specialist. Never too much depth at RB. One is too much depth at kickoff specialist.

stevestojan
I think wind was an issue on the kick out of bounds. Right. Which a normal kicker would have problems assessing. But a SPECIALIST would certainly take that into account.

Hard to argue that since kicking off is his ONLY $%^ING JOB, he should be able to wet his finger, look at the goalpost flags, check the NOAA web site, etc. to figure out the wind. Absolutely. He has NO excuse for that to ever happen. I get it, everyone messes up at their job. But he gets paid $420,000 to do ONE THING. And let's say the Bills score an average of 5 times a game plus one of the half kickoffs, that's $4,375 per kick. Edit: I looked it up. We have scored 27 TDs and 32 FGs. The Detroit FG didn't require a kickoff after it (the MN TD did). That's 58 scores, plus 14 kickoffs either to start the game or the half. 72 kicks. That's $5,833 per kick. Buffaloed in Pa
Bryce Brown sits, thats one reason this offense sux. If you can`t see the explosion and hard running compared to Fred and C.J. ????? Duh Bills. He fumbled once, I seen Freddy and C.J. fumble during crucial times. This is one reason our O sux. 20 carries for 70 yds against one of worst run defenses. C,mon. They also make the line look worse. One is a woosey between the tackles and the other is the slowest back in the league. Get real. Needs to be Bryce and Boobie. They have had their losing years. Maddog69
Did Gay get injured yesterday? I saw a suggestion from Joe Buscaglia (WGR) on Twitter that Gay was a candidate for IR to open a spot for Spiller on the roster. I wouldn't think the NFL wants teams placing uninjured players on INJURED reserve.
Miyagi-Do Karate
Right. Which a normal kicker would have problems assessing. But a SPECIALIST would certainly take that into account. I hear what you are saying, as I have said the same thing-- if we have a specialist, I want every kick to literally be through the back of the endzone. There is no way a guy should be able to even catch it. But Gay has at least improved us some in that area, particularly for a scrub we picked up at the last second. Last year, we were at 40% for touchbacks, and this year we are at 56%. In the Lindell days, we were almost dead last in the NFL in this-- around 20%. They don't really need a 4th TE with Chandler, Smith, and Gray already playing and just two games left in the regular season. Fred has lost ZERO, yes, ZERO fumbles in 2013 and 2014. He had a bad year in 2012, but he hasn't lost a fumble in over 300 carries. CJ lost one fumble in 2014, and one in 2013. So for the folks at home, that's two fumbles lost in the last two years between Fred and CJ, in 600 carries between the two. Yes, Fred has lost a step due to the groin, but he still gets those extra 2-3 yards when nothing is there. Line blocking is bad, and it is not possible for Fred to break every tackle in the backfield. Are you really Tampa Bob? Goodwin. Another good choice. BuffalothruMyVeins
I don't think some of you are understanding something, the bills have to get someone off of their 53 man roster, not 46 man game day inactives. So in this case, I would say one of the most likely moves is sliding a guy from the roster to the IR, Like Wynn, Gragg, or as someone mentioned, If Gay is injured, he would be a legitimate candidate. It would be a horrible move to RELEASE Bryce Brown, despite is relative ineffectiveness this year, since we spent a 4th rounder on him next year, and he is our likely contingency plan for a leaving Spiller and aging Freddy. Good point, I was misleading in the original post. The most likely scenario is Gragg to IR, but I'd still also waive Gay, since we may have to make room for another safety. Hopefully Da'Norris and the Duke can come back. How do I change the title?

Dorkington
I'm uncomfortable sitting any RBs because of how fragile CJ and Fred are. I can imagine them both going down and having to rely on Boobie, and that doesn't bode well. But yeah, it'd probably be Brown.
JP's Voice
I definitely do no think they should sit Gay. As poorly as he's played, Dan Carpenter has a nagging leg injury. Why put more stress on that injury which could put him in danger for further injury. I would sit Gragg or Brown.
Dragonborn10
Im not sure I even activate Spiller. Never been a fan of his. Fred is still grinding out yards.
