Just enjoy the moment. This is fun right now. If you can't get excited about this what's the point?

This. Enjoy the now. That's the best part of watching the teams journey to becoming something. It's pointless to worry about expectations or what will happen, as it is bound to change. Cherish this day this moment.

This morning we woke up in a world where the bills:

(1) have sole possession of first place in the AFCE and at least a game on everyone.

(2) beat the team on the road who last night just beat what is thought to be a top NFL team in their own new house.

(3) dominated the division rival that just beat the pats in all phases of the game.

(4) have a relatively healthy roster

(5) have good and deep WR, LB, d line and DB corps (which btw on average is very young too)

(6) have a QB with +95 QB rating, who is showing franchise type leadership traits and making impressive throws in tight windows.

(7) have a relatively young front office and ownership all committed to winning for buffalo

Right now it looks like we are seeing a good team playing quality football.

Today, they look well coached and everyone is executing, from the kickoff specialist to the punter, to the back up linebacker...

What if I don't live "in the moment." Is cautious optimism given the nature of the NFL and the opportunity for winds to change?

I'll be excited if they are at the top of the AFCE standings in week 10 with say, a 7-3 record.

I tend to agree with this statement. The next several games will tell us a lot about the team; home against what appears to be a very tough SD team, then road games at Houston (great defense) and Detroit (offensive firepower). And then the Pats* at the Ralph as El Pegual is likely introduced.

If the Bills come out of week six at 4-2 I will be pleased.

I will say it right now. I will be very surprised if the Bills lose more then 1 game at the Ralph this year. They will probably either lose to Green Bay or NE. I love our chances this week against SD. West cost team, coming off a tough physical win in 110 degree temperatures on the field no less, having to fly all the way back east for a 1pm start(10am west coast time). I will be very surprised if the Bills lose this Sunday.

I just don't get it. No offense to the OP, but as a fan I bask in every victory and become temporarily despressed in every defeat. But I couldn't temper how I feel win or lose. The ride is what makes this great. I don't look further ahead than our next opponent. I don't see the point. Even if we lose next week we're still 2-1 with a divisional win under our belt.

Go BILLS

I am going to say after the Chargers game.......

If the bills can find a way to beat the Chargers they will not only be 3-0 but they will also have beaten THREE STRAIGHT quality opponents.

This already does not have the feel of the season with Fitzy where we went 5-0 because the teams we were beating were frankly not that good.....

- The Bears just beat the niners.....ONE THE ROAD

- Miami had just got done throwing the patriots a beating

I need to see one more

So in other words you never smile and are rarely if ever happy? ;)

Enjoying something good while it is happening is not delusional or automatically believing it will always happen or consistently continue. It's a helluva lot more enjoyable to acknowledge goodness when it happens.
