  1. I'm assuming Beane was there. Beane is a wizard so.... close enough I think?
  2. By my count, it makes him the lowest paid safety in the league in AAV. Beane really is a wizard.
  3. To be fair, not that he was bad, but the back half of Fletcher’s career has long been described as making a boatload of tackles 5-10 downfield. Regardless, I too have faith a deal gets worked out for 3 main reasons: (1) Poyer wants (and should want ) to be here, (2) Beane is a wizard, and (3) the cap doesn’t exist.
  4. Come on, man. You're a good poster, but it's very obvious he wasn't specifically referring to this trade only when he referred to Beane as a wizard. Some may have been, but he wasn't. Bean has been sensational. That's absolutely a very big majority consensus. As it should be. Not perfect, nobody is, but terrific, absolutely.
  5. I don’t mind being in the minority. I’m responding to the folks proclaiming Beane a “wizard” for getting a 5th rounder for Ford. If you think that’s the “very big majority” consensus, that’s great for you.
  6. I am not the one calling Beane a “genius wizard God-man” - he’s a very good GM. Period. He ain’t the best; he’s far from the worst. That’s ok and maybe we should just accept it.
  7. Respectfully, YOU’RE not looking at this the right way. Beane has not yet gotten on-field contributions from any of his second round picks as a GM. Zero. That hopefully will change this year (though the idea being floated around here that they’re hiding Cook in the preseason is hilarious), but so far we’ve got the Outgoing Cody Ford, Epanesa in his make-or-break season, another backup edge in Basham, and a part-time running back who they drafted because they got spurned at the altar by McKissic, a dime-a-dozen RFA RB. Beane needs to stop throwing second round picks in the trash and he needs to stop giving stupid contracts and raises to guys like Star before we can declare him an “amazing wizard God-man.”
  8. No one is saying Beane isn't doing a great job. But the "Beane is a wizard" angle is a bit much in this particular case since he traded up in the second to get him.
  9. From now on I am just going to refer to Beane as The Wizard
  10. Too much, imo. Exactly! Beane’s still pissed at the pantyless ‘Commando’s’ for the Mckissic BS. He wanted a pass catching RB from getgo. We saw little to none of it at the open practices at SJF, Red & Blue & preseason games. But the Evil Wizard has the laboratory sealed off now and this is where real plays are instituted into the playbook, with Cook lined up outside. New, more potent concoctions from our standard empty backfield looks with Cook singled up on a LB. Rams won’t know what hit ‘em.
  11. He's not talking about not extending Beane. He was talking about not extending Singletary. FWIW I fully get the angst. The asset allocation to the defense is utterly insane. The offense was deplorable for good stretches of the year last year and only got better when they tasked their $.25B investment with running the ball more. We're weak on the line but many comments say well Kromer will coach them up and turn an average unit into above average. By that line of thinking, we should have had the '85 Bears level of defense for a few years now since McDermott is such a defensive wizard. This team is primed for a huge step backwards this season with the current offensive makeup. Currently we are weak on the OL, RB and slot WR. Unless you are all really getting your hopes up that a Jets castoff will sufficiently replace the one person who constantly made this offense work in Beasley. If it's Hall or more speed in WR or better blocking OL the Bills go with I don't care. But they need to start investing in weapons and protections. Not taking castoffs and hope they work out. They sure aren't doing that with the defense.
  12. I'm just going to go with it being magic....which is why Bean is a wizard.
  13. Hey guys, sorry to Debbie Down this celebration, but I've got a bit of bad news. Upon hearing of the Miller signing, I immediately rejoiced, jumping up and down, ran outside, stripped naked and began running down the street. Unfortunately, I'm not in the best shape, and after about 30 yards or so, my heart gave out on me, and I collapsed right on my street. I was pronounced dead about 46 minutes ago. That was the bad news. The good news is I'm happy to report they have wifi up here In heaven, so I'll be cheering our Bills on LITERALLY in spirit!! Go Bills!!! Beane is an effing wizard!!! Let's get this Lombardi trophy dammit!! I'm harder than a 6 pound block of ice in Siberia in a snowstorm with minus 12 degree temps and wind gusts of 29 mph...
  14. Dont care about this anymore!!! So the Raiders effectively paid the same rate for Chandler Jones that we are for Von FREAKING Miller. Beane is a wizard.
  15. Awesome stuff! Beane the magical wizard strikes again...lighting bolt to Bills fans!
  16. Beane is no wizard.....he's a dragon and he's breathing fire!!!
  17. Since the other thread got closed, I'll re-post here. Beane is no wizard.....he's a dragon and he's breathing fire!!!
  18. Beane is no wizard.....he's a dragon and he's breathing fire!!!
  19. I don't call Beane a wizard but he has done better than you are giving him credit. I agree he has pissed away tons of money on bad DL singings. However in the draft he has done as good as any other GM. Hits and Misses. Oliver has turned out to be solid. Wallace(I know he is now gone and was an UDFA) and Taron Johnson are good players. He retained Milano. Bass, Knox, Davis, Brown, and Singletary are all solid performers acquired via the draft. Ford is probably a bust and Epenesa is looking that way too. I'm not going to argue about Edmunds again, my feelings are well documented. Rousseau looked ok as a rookie. Heck even Basham looked ok at the end of the year.
  20. I realize it would take a lot of good luck, but if Beane is the draft god many here believe he is, he will take the risks and trade down out of the 1st and package his later picks to swing a trade for two early Round 2 picks. He can solve two weaknesses with one selection by drafting Daxton Hill early in the 2nd. He could start at CB while Tre gets back to speed. He could later on in the year get time with Hyde to see how he pairs up with Hyde as a possible replacement of Poyer. If he doesn't work out with him due to his weaknesses at safety, he can stay at CB in the future. With our 2nd early pick we draft Breece Hall ,who can block, catch and run. We upgrade the defense and offense significantly in round two. A dual threat RB taking the pressure off the need for an early WR replacement pick. He can line up in both pass and running plays without signaling to the opposing defense what our designed plays are, either pass or run. Ideally a trade with the Lions, or even Seattle for early 2nd round picks, or a wizard combination of a trade down along with trading up from Beane with our later picks (and or players) to get two early 2nd round picks. We would basically be set for the draft after two early 2nd round picks. Going for our other real need with a remaining round 6 pick for a punter.
  21. You forgot to mention they didn't have a lot of cap room to make moves so you can't blame them for, early as it is, 1st week of UFA. Or...say that Beane is a wizard. Come on CT!
  22. We have a hole at 2nd tight end. Bean seems to like these cut players to fill holes. Would not count against a comp pick right? And only 27 years old. Wizard Beane is methodically filling holes. So far addressed guard, two run stuffing DTs and a back that will help in passing game. TE, along with Corner, WR and Edge are my remaining hopes for FA and draft. Hooper would fill one!
  23. Not really, or at least it shouldn’t, Beane might turn a couple of them into a CB, he is a Wizard after all…
