  1. I think in 3-5 Years Luck will be a Top 1-5 QB in the League...To me he's Big Ben only more athletic, more accurate, and smarter...He completed over 70% of his last 776 Passes at Stanford with 69 TD's and only 18 INT's in that span...That's amazing! He may struggle a bit till Indy gets a Team around him...But when they do he'll do his job exceptionally well IMHO...I got to watch a lot of him this past Season...I was amazed at how effortlessly he put the ball exactly where it needed to be... I would seriously give just about anything to see that Kid in Buffalo...It's SO sad...
  2. While I don't think Osweiler is a 1st Round QB Prospect based on where his game is currently, in this day-and-age of the NFL Draft who knows?...There is no question he has the raw ability...He's VERY athletic for a Kid his size...He slides in the Pocket pretty well and he does seem to have a strong arm on some throws...Though I don't think he's got a cannon or anything like that...I'll be interested to see what they say about his Football IQ by the time the Draft rolls around...Size-wise I guess he compares to Ryan Mallett...We all know Mallett took a beating on his foot-speed and off-the-field stuff...Teams were scared to death of Mallett off-the-field obviously...But what got him Drafted by The Pats was that arm, and his ability on the white board...This Kid is twice the athlete Mallett is, but I don't think he's got Mallett's arm strength (few do)...We'll see if he has Mallett's Football IQ...If he does he's going to rocket up some boards... Anyway...If Osweiler's smart enough some Team will likely take a flyer at the bottom of the 1st or early in the 2nd...I just have a feeling some Team is going to take the bait...
  3. You mean the same Robert Ayers who is starting for a very good Denver Defense and had 2 Sacks in a Playoff Win this year? Sometime it takes a bit...Sometime it's Coaching, scheme, etc...And yes sometimes the Prospect is a bust...But Ayers is coming on...He had a decent year and he's a big piece of the future for that Denver Defense...
  4. Tebow? I'm no Fitz fan...at all...But I'd take Anthony Davis, Jason Pierre-Paul, or Dez Bryant over Tebow any day...
  5. Interesting... So in two weeks or so Buddy has completely gone back on his statement about Freddie? I'm kinda thinking not so much...Not saying someone did not say what you say you heard...Just saying...People say dumb things all the time on Sports Talk Radio... A little reminder of Buddy's comments concerning Fred Jackson at his Presser... "Does anybody in here know how long Fred Jackson’s contract is? You do, John? He’s a Bill for 14 months, a year from March 13th. Now, Fred and I have talked. We want to extend Fred. I’d like for Fred to finish his career as a Bill. He’s meant a lot to us. I’ve got great respect for him. I tell him that. We’re going to try to get something done. Does it matter if we do it or if we do it next week or a month from now? As long as we get it done before the season starts it’s all the same, really, seems to me. And it’s not like he’s going to get hurt playing now. But we do want Fred back and we do intend to try to workout a deal with him. I’ve told him that and I’m going to tell him again this week before I leave here. And just to re-assure him that what we said is what we’re going to do."
  6. There's NO WAY I would take Fitz over Flacco, Romo, Smith, Freeman, or Dalton (Freeman and Dalton are still pretty young and plenty talented)...I would take Fitz over Gabbert now for certain...But Gabbert was only a Rookie...We'll see after next year...But anyway...That shaves your list down a bit IMHO...
  7. Please tell me you're not serious...Use the smiley or something for God's sake...Or hurry up with the punch line...You've taken it too far already...
  8. This has been my feeling as well all along...Not that I hate Upshaw or anything like that...Just that there will be better Prospects available at #10 with MUCH higher Grades, and The Bills refuse to Trade Down...So I don't see Upshaw as a possibility at #10 at all...
  9. Neither Dareus nor Williams is a 4-3 DE...Maybe in certain Run Stop Packages...But that's about it...
  10. Agreed... I wonder what The Bills would do should Martin drop top them...Which admittedly is looking less likely by the day...But Reiff to me will be out of The Bills consideration...He's a duplication of talent...Good Player, but not at a need area...
  11. No question... And as a Bills Fan who has always had serious reservations about Fitz it surprises even me that I would prefer The Bills take Jeffery if he's there at #10...But I think no matter who The Bills trot out at QB, Jeffery will be a HUGE addition...And I'm assuming Stevie will be back...Which I realize is not a given...But if so that would give The Bills SJ, Jeffery, Nelson, and probably Easley at 1-4...That's pretty strong...Add Freddie, CJ, and Chandler...Now you're building a Playoff caliber Offense...If there is a Defensive Player available at #10 that can have the same sort of impact Jeffery can for The Bills then I'm all for it...But I don't see that guy in this Draft...And The Bills don't Trade up or down...So...I'm hoping for Jeffery...
  12. My point was general...Every Draft there are perennial Pro-Bowl Players available at #10...I'm not a genie, or an NFL Scout...But I promise you there will be a few perennial Pro-Bowlers available at #10, and it's just my opinion...that's all...but I don't think Upshaw will be one of them...If The Bills Draft him at #10, I hope I'm wrong... If you want more specific names I would absolutely take Jonathan Martin, Alshon Jeffery, and Micheal Floyd (assuming he can stay off the freaking booze) ahead of Upshaw...I'm sure there will be more names by April... To me, The Bills Drafting Upshaw at #10 would be akin to when the Chiefs Drafted Tyson Jackson at #3 Overall a few years back...You'll get a decent Player...But there will be a few you pass at other Positions that will be MUCH better down the line...And again that is strictly my opinion based on what I've seen over the past couple years...There are plenty around here who are not impressed with Alshon Jeffery...I think he's going to be the next Larry Fitzgerald...we'll see...
  13. Bingo! Agree 100%!!! This is a Top 10 Pick Folks...Upshaw is not a Top 10 Talent in this or any other Draft...Good Player...But there will be at least a couple perennial Pro-Bowl caliber players available at #10...And IMHO Upshaw is not one of them...I don't think he's as good as LaMarr Woodley coming out...And Woodley was a 2nd Round Pick...This Pick has the classic potential to back-fire if The Bills follow the opinion of many Fans and get blinded by Pass Rush need...There are no stand-out Pass Rushers in this Draft worthy of #10 overall...At least not now they're not...There are certainly players that can develop into great Pass Rushers...But it's a major risk at #10, especially considering there should be more solid options at other positions available...
  14. I like Jeffery better than Floyd...He's a bit bigger and IMHO he'll be a better Pro...But we'll see...I don't dislike Floyd as a player...But mainly due to the off field stuff I'm not crazy about him...And now he's not playing in the Sr Bowl? What's up with that? Jeffery has an excellent reputation as a hard worker... I agree on on the Martin vs Reiff thing...I think Martin has a MUCH bigger upside...And I would not be surprised at all to see The Bills snag Martin at #10 assuming he's there...
  15. Cracked that code easy enough!!!
  16. Just a quick note...Bell may be the top rated OT but he does not even crack the top 50 overall...Bad year for UFA OT's I guess...But I'm also guessing that means someone is going to try to over-pay him...
  17. We'll see how he does at the Combine and at his workouts...I think a few Scouts have visions of Mike Williams dancing in their heads when they think of Jeffery...ie...He's a big body that runs around 4.6...I think it's a mistake to underestimate the Kid...And if he suffers a Dez Bryant-like 1st Round slide some Team is going to get a hell of a bargain IMHO...I think Jeffery, like Bryant, is a special talent and has proved as much in the toughest Conference in College Football with basically nobody throwing to him for 3 years...
  18. I saw Charles Davis had us taking Coples... I'd rather have Upshaw over Coples, but I'd take Alshon Jeffery over both of them...And believe me I know how bad The Bills need Pass Rush...I just think Jeffery is going to be REAL special... We'll see though...I'm usually wrong...
  19. Really? Why exactly is that? Be specific if possible...I'm just curious... Because you look at the Top 10 and it seems just about right...Maybe Romo is a bit high at #5...But Rodgers, Brees and Brady at 1, 2, and 3 certainly is correct... Maybe the NFL did not need a new way to rate QB's...But in this case Fitz actually benefited...The old QB Rating had him 22nd...Right behind Tavaris Jackson...So... There's always going to be different ways to look at QB play...I think this Total QBR worked fairly well because Fitz landed pretty much exactly where he is...Middle of the League...
  20. Say what you will about the Bills terrible Defense...But they have one significant 1st Round Pick and he just finished his Rookie year... Is there any Defensive Unit in the NFL that has underachieved as much as Green Bay? Woodson, Raji, Matthews, Hawk, etc...They have talent...
  21. I heard and argument recently...Not sure if it was on the Radio or here...Anyway, the point made was that due to varying Stadium capacities and Market sizes in the NFL, the Blackout rule was completely unfair...It was pointed out that if The Bills had a Stadium capacity of say...Lucas Oil Stadium which seats 63,000 in a MUCH bigger City than Buffalo...There would be FAR fewer blackouts in WNY...So the argument was the Rule is unfair and at the very least it should be based on the capacity of the smaller Stadiums...
  22. The new Total QB Rating is a better gauge of QB play and contribution to winning than the old QB Rating system... Here's an explanation of the Total QBR...Explaining the Total QB Rating For the record Fitz finished 18th in Total QBR...Right behind Matt Moore and in front of Kyle Orton...Fitz was 12 points out of the Top 10...
  23. I remember those comments well...Of course The Bills passed on 2 OT's that year that have gone on and started a lot of games playing pretty well for the #1 and #2 seeds in the NFC...While both Williams and Okung have pretty clearly underachieved to this point...But I digress... I wonder what Grades the Bills will have on Reiff and Martin in comparison to Williams and Okung...Or in comparison to Bulaga and Davis...While I don't think The Bills will take an OT at #10, I do wonder if they may pass on a really, really good prospect...And outside of Jeffery I'm not sure I see many prospects at #10 that I like much more than Williams...
  24. Wow! Business as usual in Oakland...New GM or not...
  25. Listening to Buddy I got the feeling that the Bills would be happy to have Bell back...But it took two seconds for Buddy to talk about Bell's injury history which tells me they are not about to pay premium LT dollars for D Bell...I also got the feeling he thinks Hairston is going to be fine at LT if that's what they decide to do...And I'm guessing some Team is going to offer Bell more than The Bills are willing to pay...If so pencil in Hairston at LT... Now...Here's where it gets interesting...There is at least an outside chance that both OT's Riley Reiff and Jonathan Martin will be available when The Bills Pick at #10 overall (I strongly prefer Martin to Reiff btw...Like anyone cares...lol)...And when Buddy says we will Draft a LT, I don't think for a second he means they will Draft one in the 1st Round...After all, they got Hairston in the 4th Round last Draft...But I wonder if the true value at #10 overall does end up being at LT?...Of course I'm assuming Luck, Kalil, Griffin (if he declares), Richardson (if...), Claiborne (if...), Blackmon, Still (I think he's the top D-Lineman and somebody is going to take him Top 9...Just a hunch), and Jeffery (I hope he slides to #10...But I doubt it will happen) will all be gone Top 8...That leaves both Reiff and Martin available at #9 Overall...So I think there is a good chance one or both will fall to #10 overall...Does Buddy pass on an OT that most Scouts feel is a sure fire Top 10 Pick? We'll see I guess... Going to be VERY interesting if Reiff and Martin are both available at #10 come April...VERY interesting...
