New Don Banks Mock (Post Williams/Anderson)
KOKBILLS replied to LABills08's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think now (after Martin's workout) the only way The Bills go OT in the 1st Round is with a Trade Down...The problem is, even if they Traded Down and grabbed Martin or Reiff, I don't think either Kid is ready to be a Starting LT in the NFL just yet...It would be an awful lot to ask of either Prospect...And we're talking about the #2 and #3 OT's on most Boards...I no longer believe there is much value at #10 if you're looking for a LT...Unless you have a few years to wait...The Bills need to re-sign Bell, or realize Hairston will be the Starting LT in 2012... So...That being said...If The Bills stay at #10 Overall I think it's down to the WR (Floyd), the LB (Kuechly), or the CB (Kirkpatrick)...I think of the three Kuechly is the best Prospect, but the Bills have already said Shep is going to play MLB...So would Keuchly or Shep move outside? I like Kirkpatrick...But I just can't get passed thinking #10 is too high for him...That's why I'm now guessing Floyd is the leader to be Drafted at #10 Overall... This is getting too muddled... -
Not a Good Showing for Jonathan Martin, OT, Stanford
KOKBILLS replied to Owen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You're right...The problem here is that Martin is not ready to step in right away...I agree that quickness and feet are FAR more important than strength for a LT...But assuming the Bills stay at #10 overall, IF they were to take a LT, they'll be looking for a Rookie Starter...And I don't think Martin is ready to start at LT in the NFL quite yet...He won't hold up in the Run game well at all...He's just not quite ready...So that should push him down just a bit... -
Demetrius Bell - Now an Eagle
KOKBILLS replied to voodoo poonani's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Even Scouts who love Reiff (like Mayock) question whether or not he'll ever be a LT in the NFL...Trade down or not, I just can't see Drafting a Kid in the 1st Round if The Bills are not 100% sure he will be a LT...And it seems not many are 100% sure Reiff will be a LT... -
Who would you like to see the Bills get?
KOKBILLS replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd rather take a flyer on Braylon Edwards...He's going to be majorly motivated...And he's still awfully talented...I think Edwards is a much better player than Williams... -

I'm OK with that...I'm also OK with reaching just a bit for a LT if Buddy and Chan are OK with the prospect (not that Glenn is worthy of #10 Overall...because he's not)...I would just prefer a LT in the 1st Round...It's time... -

Saw that...Pretty disappointing...I doubt Martin goes Top 20 now...He's gonna slide...Though most Scouts admit he's got a lot to do in the strength area...And he was a MUCH better Pass blocker than a Run blocker in College...Martin's obviously real smart and he may be the type of Kid that needs a couple years before he's ready to be a starting LT in the NFL... -
What about WR? If The Bills went LT and OLB, I think WR would clearly be the most glaring need at that point...Right?...Though I do have to say Fleener would be awful intriguing in the 2nd Round...

Buddy asks us to believe him when he speaks an awful lot... How many times have you heard him say "We've said all along..." That being said, Nix is on record saying The Bills are good from G to G, but they will definitely Draft an OT...He also said Shep is going to start in the middle of the new 4-3...So...If we are to believe Buddy, DeCastro and Kuechly are probably not in the plans at #10 overall...

Claiborne - possible slip to #10?
KOKBILLS replied to roccitybillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills would Draft Claiborne at #10, if he was there, 10 out of 10 times... The problem is he's not going to be there...Period...This will effect Claiborne's status the same way Julius Jones foot injury effected his Draft status...In other words...It won't effect Claiborne, or his probable Top 5 projection, one bit... It's good to dream though... -

The Shout Box and a Twitter quotes... Okey doke...Enough said... -
Oh wow! 2 points I completely disagree with... The Bills strength on O-Line is from Guard to Guard. Buddy Nix is on record already saying they are fine there...He's also on record that the Bills will take an OT in this Draft...So I'm thinking DeCastro is not going to happen...Martin or Adams at #10 or in a Trade Down is a much better possibility IMHO... Ronnell Lewis played a hybrid Position and spent the majority of his College career with his hand on the ground setting the edge (which he was pretty good at), and rushing the QB (which he was very average at)...He's a great Special Teams Player and he loves to hit...He's a high motor guy...His size does not project that well to a DE in a 4-3, and he's DEFINITELY not a 4-3 OLB...At least not yet he's not, and it's a major projection at this time...He would be a HUGE liability in Coverage initially because he's all but never done it, and when he has he's not natural...He has VERY average speed (4.68)...He was really a College DE, no matter what his Position says...And switching from College DE to Pro 4-3 OLB is a stretch for players with a lot better speed than Lewis...Plus he had academic issues...I'm not saying Lewis will not be a good Pro...But I don't think he's a good fit for Buffalo...Especially in the 2nd Round...Good God no!

Seriously? Who in their right mind would ever call this a "Dream Team." That was a good chuckle though... -

TEBOW!!! is a Jet! (finally)
KOKBILLS replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well... I'm thinking...If The Bills were truly interested in Tebow 2 years ago, and all indications including those from Tebow himself point in that direction, then what would stop them from being interested now? He has shown, in a very small period of time, exactly what most Scouts felt about him all along...He does somethings extremely well, some things very poorly, and he needs a lot of work...But he was still a 1st Round Pick...And my guess is he would go no lower than the 2nd Round of this Draft...no Manning, and Tebow is the Starting QB for the Denver Broncos in 2012...He's one of the 32... Now the benefit is he's had two years in the NFL...He's got some on-the-job training... I do think Nix will feel if anybody can get something more out of Tebow as a Passer it will be Gailey...And Fitz would be as good a mentor as Tebow could possibly ask for... But then there is the circus aspect which I want no part of... I do think Tebow is better than Thigpen...But is his upside as good as say, Brock Osweiler? I don't know...This is a tough call...But I'm guessing if the Bills were interested before, they will be interested again... -
Cousins played a LOT more than Osweiler in College, but as far as upside is concerned it's really not close...Cousins has back-up written all over him...He's a system guy who is an awesome leader, but not much beyond that...Osweiler can pretty much be as good as he want to be...He has all the tools...He's tall, athletic, and he really has only scratched the surface...I think when you're talking about a 4th Round Pick I'd rather take a flyer on greatness instead of drafting a guy who may or may not be better than Tyler Thigpen in 3 years...Just my opinion... And as far as the 5th Round Picks go, what is up with Trevor Guyton getting all this support? I really wonder sometimes if the word has gotten out about the Bills switching back to the 4-3? Guyton is a 3-4 End...Maybe an undersized 4-3 DT in a pinch...But we have Carrington and Spencer Johnson already...Why would The Bills want a guy like Guyton who's not a natural DE in a 4-3? Anyway... I went with OLB Nigel Bradham and TE Rhett Ellison this Round...I like Bradham's upside, and he fits the 4-3 OLB role...I think Ellison would be a nice value-grab in the 5th...He would give The Bills some versatility and a TE who is pretty sure handed...He's not going to stretch any Defenses...But he's a solid Player who can make the Team as the 3rd TE... But admittedly it's already getting a bit thin...
-
Ronnell Lewis basically played DE with his hand on the ground at Oklahoma... Projecting him to an NFL 4-3 OLB is a HUGE stretch...I could see the projection if he had 4.5 speed...But he's a 4.67 guy with virtually zero experience in Coverage...I really don't know where this idea that he is a 4-3 OLB comes from...Maybe in time...But I doubt it...

Buddy's Man Bank on it! Riley Reiff
KOKBILLS replied to Thirty Year Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed...There are many Scouts who feel Reiff is an NFL RT and nothing more...If you take an OT at #10, you have to be darn sure he's going to be a LT...I'm not sure that is the case with Reiff...And I think that's why, in the end, The Bills go with Martin... -
Yes! The Red is cooler 100% of the time...
-
Problem is in this Mock we already have Jeffery, and if Easley comes back healthy there is more than enough Depth at WR...Stevie, Jeffery, Nelson, Jones, Easley, Clowney, Martin, Roosevelt, Aiken, and they still may try to bring back Hagan who played pretty well down the stretch...That's not including QB/WR Brad Smith...And the fact that The Bills will likely use Spiller a lot more in the Passing Game...Just can't see The Bills Drafting 2 WR's in the first 4 Rounds...
-
Well...Team chemistry does not mean crap if you don't have QB who can get you to the promise land...And there are plenty of 6 Win teams that got that way because their QB was not good enough...So... Not saying this is necessarily the case with Fitz...Just saying...

Haha! Touche My friend...Touche...

Jonathan Martin - "Warning signs for a lack of heart." What? I still think Martin is the Pick at #10...I definitely don't believe he lacks heart whatsoever...We'll see though...
-
The word on NFL Network was the Coach actually wanted him, but the rest of the Organization was not as high on Flynn figuring he was not much better than Moore...Plus I think they do want Tannehill...
-
UGH! I REALLY hate that Lewis Pick...I just wonder if some Folks around here understand we're a 4-3 Defense now? And what it takes to be an OLB in a 4-3... Anyway...It only let me vote once and I took Osweiler...I would love to see what Chan can do with that Kid over the next few years...And in the 4th I think he brings nice value...If I had a 2nd Pick it would be the CB Norman...I would have preferred to have a DE by now...But Y'all ruined it by not taking Jones in the 3rd...
-
Saw that before Astro...Still don't think he's a 4-3 OLB...And if he is Drafted to be a 4-3 OLB it's gonna take some serious time to convert him...The 3rd Round is too early for positional-projections if you ask me...You want a Kid that can come in and contribute, even if it's just as a back-up...Moving from having your hand on the ground most of the time to playing OLB in an NFL 4-3 is a HUGE projection to make for players who are quicker twitch athletes than Lewis is...I'm telling you, he has no home in this Defense...Kinda like Danny Batten now...Granted he should be a core Special Teamer for anyone that Drafts him...But we'll see...It's not so much about the Player, it's about the fit...I don't like him for The Bills at all in the 3rd...4th or later, maybe we can talk...
