Exactly! Floyd is a bit of a tease though is he not? I mean...You wonder...How much better would this Offense be with a guy like Floyd on the other side of Stevie? Then I think back to reality and realize there were times when recievers were wide open and Fitz still missed them...Sometimes costing us games (the Giants game comes to mind)...So any Bills Fan HAS to ask themselves, how much will a true #2 REALLY help this Team if Fitz is still the QB?...I think it's a fair question...But if Buddy and Chan feel Floyd is the best player...So be it... I would rather see them grab Gilmore at #10 as well...I think you can get a guy like Sanu or Jeffery in the 2nd Round, and in a year or two they could be every bit as good as Floyd...I don't think you can get a CB in the 2nd or 3rd that is going to be the good, physical, fast, and reliable package that Gilmore is...I like what Mike Lombardi said about Gilmore...He said, "To me he's a Starting CB in the NFL..." I think that's REALLY saying something...You've got a Kid who started 40 consecutive games in the SEC!!! That's tested! He's over 6' tall, had a TON of tackles...What's not to like? I think he brings GREAT value at #10, and would give the Bills 3 solid, VERY young CB's for the years to come...

Well you know I usually agree with you Bro... But in this case I think The Bills have went to great lengths to improve the Pass Rush already...I hope that we'll see other D-Linemen (like Kelsay or Carrington), and a LB or two (like Moats?), freed up greatly now to do damage in the backfield...And I think now it's time to address other glaring needs on this Team (ie. LT, CB, WR, OLB)...As good as Ingram is (and I think he's pretty darn good...I saw him a ton while I lived in Charlotte NC), there is no way he's going to be a 3 Down Player as a Rookie in a 4-3 Defense...I think he can play all over the field in a 3-4...But in a 4-3 he's limited a bit...I think The Bills can get more impact at #10 for this Team as it is now... I'm actually leaning towards the WR Floyd, or the CB Gilmore at #10...I think both would provide immediate impact as Starters, or at the very least as 3rd on the depth Chart at their Positions...They would play a ton and bring aspects that The Bills have almost none of now...Gilmore is that tall CB who is REAL physical and has great ball skills...Floyd is also physical...A power-forward type of WR who is a more-than-willing-blocker and the type that can go up and get an errant throw (something we see with Fitz a bit)...I think both these prospects are HUGE upgrades to what we have currently in those positions (like Donald Jones or McGee and Florance)...And that will make The Bills a better Team overall in 2012...

Kirk Cousins says Bills among teams showing
KOKBILLS replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks for the Link! It's important that The Bills get a young QB in this Draft somewhere...I would like to see them use one of their 4th Round Picks on a QB...Maybe even the 3rd Rounder, though admittedly I'm not thrilled about that idea...I just think they have too many other needs elsewhere(LT, WR, CB, OLB)to take a QB too high...It's just my opinion, but I don't think these 2nd tier QB's (Cousins and Weeden) are worthy of a 1st-3rd Round Pick...And I think it's a bit of wishful thinking that Cousins will be around in the 4th...But you never know...If so I would not mind grabbing him at all! Personally I'd rather take a flyer on Osweiler...I guess we'll see... -
SO right! Ngata was a consensus All-American...And The Bills needed a DT so badly they Traded back up into the 1st Round to take McCargo! Worst thing is they could have just sat put, taken Ngata in the 1st, and had their choice of Roman Harper, Marcus McNeil, Greg Jennings, Devin Hester, etc., in the 2nd...

I was Home, so I was right here (TSW) for the Spiller Pick...And was clearly not too happy about it...Not that I knew who they were going to Pick, or that I did not think Spiller was going to be a decent NFL player...I just did not think we needed a RB...I was kind of hoping for Bulaga...But I was SO pissed when they made the Pick...Then CJ put on the hat, and I went back and watched his highlight reel about a hundred times to feel a little better...I remember almost immediately there were those who felt we were going to keep all 3 RB's...So my focus quickly switched to the fact that one of these guys had to go...But anyway...I felt your pain...Believe me... I've seen some video of Bills Fans when Maybin was Picked...But I guess we don't even need to go there do we...

Oh good God you've got to be kidding... -
I thought Hardy would be a can't miss kind of WR...He just looked so good in the games I watched..And his size was so impressive... I thought McLovin was going to be a very solid NFL CB... On the other hand, in 2006 I was literally chanting "Ngata! Ngata! Ngata!" in my Den while watching the Draft...I nearly had a heart attack when they announced Whitner...I could not calm down for hours...
-
I would LOVE to Trade Down and still get Gilmore...But that's looking less and less likely by the minute...
-
I'm not saying we will Draft Kuechly, or that we should...But all due respect, I'll trust guys like Mayock and their analysis any day... And to be honest I think everyone is getting WAY too carried away with this physical thing concerning Kuechly...And I'm not saying the Kid is the next Lewis or Willis whatsoever...He's a different kind of Prospect...He's VERY quick and instinctive...He's fast for a LB and REAL good in coverage...This is a passing league more than it's ever been...LB's that can play all 3 Downs are like gold now! In the NFL you can find 100's of plays every year where a LB tries to blow up the ball carrier only to see the guy bounce off and take it for another 10-20 yds...It happens every week...You also see LB's in the NFL take terrible angles and miss Tackles in the backfield constantly...Kuechly is said to be instinctive and tough in this area...He's got a sterling reputation as a very good tackler...Kuechly's job as a LB is to make the tackle and that's what he did by any means necessary... As far as making all these Tackles 5 yards down the field...He's not a DT...He's a LB...Do you know what his assignment was?...The fact he was where he was could have just as much to do with Coaching and scheme as anything...Something Pro Scouts talk to the Coaches about ad nauseam...And most Scouts rave about Kuechly overall...So I'm guessing he was dead on his assignments more often than not...Is he the perfect Prospect LB? Of course not...But I don't think this Kid is soft...He's just smart... And again I'm not saying The Bills need to take Kuechly...I'd rather see them take Gilmore to be honest...But I think Kuechly is being over-Scouted by some...He looks to be a pretty safe bet...Just saying...

Did you ever actually see Jeffery play?...Because I'll put his catching ability up against anyone coming out...Period...I think in that area he is elite...I'm not even saying Jeffery is a 1st Round Pick, or better than Sanu, or Floyd, or anything like that...But I do think he's getting nitpicked to death by Folks who never actually watched him play...If you've seen him play, I'm sure you would come away thinking he's a pretty special talent...I think Mayock is right that he does not get separation all the time...But he certainly did get separation at times...And now that he's in excellent shape he has a chance to be special...Will he? Only time will tell...Just saying... No I did not...My apologies...But that is My Grandmother's 1st Name... Sup Bro? how you been? I think his speed is about the same as Hardy...I seem to remember Hardy running around 4.5...But I watched Jeffery a TON in College...More than I saw Hardy that's for sure...And Jeffery is NOT Hardy...Jeffery almost seems to enjoy contact and fighting for the ball...My worry with Jeffery would be more about separation, which is Mayocks concern...But Jeffery is a Football Player through and through...He'a going to fight out there, I promise you that much...And his hands and ability to go up and get it are elite if you ask me...I always liked Hardy too, but I did wonder if he was a bit too soft...I don't have that worry with Jeffery...He needs work but I think he's got a ton of potential...

This part is just confusing... "Tony Pauline Alshon Jeffery/WR/South Carolina timed 4.47 seconds on 2nd forty…hearing some watches had him slightly faster on the first attempt; 4.54s Update: there are additional reports that Jeffery stumbled out of his stance on 2nd 40, which might explain the slower time from the first attempt. " So was the 2nd attempt 4.47 or 4.54? Both are actually not bad if he stumbled...And if the 2nd attempt was slower he still could have run low 4.4 in the 1st right?
-
Really? Since when? So when Dez Bryant ran a pair of 4.52 40's, then ran a mid 4.6 into the wind and it was reported that way it was inflated? Different Scouts have different times...There are some discrepancies always...But I would not say things are normally inflated as much as I'd say some tracks are faster, some tracks are literally downhill, and some tracks are 39.5 yds...
-
Looks like he's not slow... At the bottom of the article it says some Scouts had him between 4.4 and 4.5...But still...He's faster than most thought... Link Another with slower times reported
-
Exactly... Don't get me wrong...Kuechly is never going to be mistaken for Patrick Willis...He's not a lights-out hitter...He's just not...But he's also not afraid of contact whatsoever...And he's a VERY sure tackler...He's smart, takes good angles, is great in coverage...etc...He just strikes me as a play-smarter-not-harder-type of Kid...There are a million Defenders who try to fly around and make the big hit only to see the ball-carrier bounce off and go for another 10 yards...So...
-
I wanted to know the favorite between these 3...No one is saying that's who The Bills will Draft at #10...It's a simple Poll...Don't read too much into it...
-
Thanks for that! Good read... Honestly it's a great question...I'll have to go back to the CB Combine stuff on my DVR to see if I missed something...No question the Kid is a good player though...I think they said 3 year Starter who never missed a Game? Maybe stuff is coming late because he's an early entry?
-
Lots of Gilmore talk on NFL Network tonight...He seems to be a big-time riser right now...Just about everybody asked said he should go higher than Kirkpatrick...They were raving about Gilmore's toughness and willingness to mix it up...He's a heck of a good athlete...Great size for a CB...And he stayed healthy...Definitely a good Prospect...
-
He's not a whopping-type hitter...No question...But I do think he's a very sure Tackler...And that's a lost art in the NFL...Missed tackles have KILLED The Bills the last few years...And Kuechly does not miss a lot of tackles... Floyd running away with the Poll btw...
-
I hear you...My take was basically we already have Freddie who is very good and Lynch who could be good AND we used #12 overall on him...so...Just felt it was not a need...But granted neither was anything like Thriller style-wise...
-
Urlacher would be nice if The Bills pick him!!! But I hear what you're saying...And I would worry about the same thing...I think a lot of my confidence in Kuechly comes from Mayocks evaluation...I like what I see of him when I've watched him, but Mayock is over-the-top about the Kid...He literally says Kuechly has some of the best instincts he's ever seen coming out...That really says a lot from a guy who can throw around negatives as much as he does positives...And one other thing about Mayock...He will call a Player out in a heartbeat if he does not think the Player is physical...Especially a LB...Have you heard his take on Zach Brown? But he does not say any of those same things about Kuechly...Which tells me Kuechly is not afraid of contact, or initiating it...I guess we'll see in time...I do agree about the Pass Rush thing...I would like to see how he handles Pass Rush on the Outside of a 4-3...Because I think he would start out at OLB in The Bills D...It certainly would be a VERY interesting Pick would it not?
-
I totally agree about DeCastro... But the Spiller Pick was wrong because we already had Freddie and Lynch...Now that Lynch is gone sure it looks better...But Lynch was here at the time and the Bills had no reason to Trade him until they Drafted Spiller...That being said CJ is looking better and better and he's an absolute rocket in the open field...He's literally the fastest thing I think I've ever seen on the Football field...He's crazy fast...And he's getting better...So...
-
Seriously? Are you kidding me? Did you watch the Combine and listen to Mayock's take on Kuechly? He LOVES Kuechly...Some Scouts have been SUPER high on him for a while now...I'm still not sure I want The Bills to Draft him...But he's Top 15 in almost any Draft Publication you can find...And he's rated ahead of DeCastro (I'm assuming that is the OG you are referring to) as much as DeCastro is rated ahead of him... And Sardines? WTF does that mean anyway? This is what I just pulled off Google in 2 minutes... PFW - Kuechly 8th, DeCastro 10th Great Blue North - Kuechly 9th, DeCastro 11th WalterFootball - Kuechly 7th, DeCastro 11th Drafttek - Kuechly 7th, DeCastro 9th fftoolbox - Kuechly 14th, DeCastro 13th NFL.com's Bucky Brooks (yes THAT Bucky Brooks) - Kuechly 13th, DeCastro 11th CBS.com - Kuechly 14th, DeCastro 13th Just saying...
-
Oh I don't think he's necessarily a physically dominating LB by any means...But I don't think he's a soft kitty either... What is pretty much indisputable is the fact that he has great instincts in the Passing game (Mayock says the best he's ever seen coming out), and he makes a ton of tackles... I'm not sold on Kuechly being the guy at #10 either...And I'm not saying he's the next Ray-Ray...But I definitely don't think he's real soft...And I think he's a better player than Poz is, was, and will be, without playing a Down in the NFL...I really mean that...
-
Really...Not sure I agree...I know Mayock doesn't... NFL.com write-up
